“They’re good but for whatever reason there’s like a very subliminal attitude in the atmosphere in there …like they try to discourage u as soon as u walk in with that “it’ll b a 3 hour wait” …it’s never that long ..it’s always less than an hour for what I go for which is testing ….then when u go back there they seem to rush everything and b real cold …like the idea of people being in the place irks them …it’s NEVER crowded …the patients are never rude or rowdy when I’m there so I don’t know what the staff be so miserable about …they need some Prozac in that bih …they’re too efficient to be acting all sour all day“

“For years, I unknowingly dealt with endometriosis, with symptoms primarily affecting my gastrointestinal system. The pain grew worse over time, but at age 22, I was dismissed by a doctor who attributed it to nothing more than hemorrhoids. Fast forward to age 37 [15 years], -- during a hysterectomy for fibroids, my surgeon noted what in his words was a ‘mild case’ of endometriosis. He advised me to do nothing about it and to ‘leave it alone’. However, my symptoms persisted, and after extensive research and a recommendation from a dear friend, I decided to see Dr. Seckin.

I requested that Dr. Seckin and his colleague, Dr. Chu, review my case. Dr. Chu immediately ordered the imaging and diagnostic tests I needed to determine the extent of the disease. The results showed that I had advanced stage endometriosis, that which, properly treated, would also require the expertise of a colorectal surgeon. Dr. Seckin and his team ensured that all necessary disciplines were on hand for my surgery. My surgery ended up being a 5-hour operation including a bowel resection. I’m writing this review almost 3 weeks post-op. Of course, recovery will be different for each individual, but in my case, with the exception of a mild allergic reaction to the surgical glue (which is rare) …. I feel great! The pain and cyclical bleeding that I was experiencing are gone.

Aside from Dr. Seckin’s medical expertise, the thing that truly sets him apart is his compassionate approach. I have a bit of medical trauma and PTSD. The anxiety of being in an operating room again reared its ugly head in the form of a panic attack. With my eyes filled with tears, Dr. Seckin held my hand tightly while lovingly and carefully addressing and easing my fears.

He takes the time to sit down with you in his office and review any questions that you have. “All these bad reviews had me very worried about my upcoming appointment, but I did not have a similar experience. Everything went well: office was nice and clean, I waited for a bit after my appt time (but that’s literally every doctor…) and even though I waited my appointment was so quick (I had a yearly check up I.e exam and pap). Dr. Simons was nice, knowledgeable, and was super efficient. I mean yeah we didn’t chit chat but she was just doing her job, nothing wrong with that. I would go definitely back.“
