“Al is both fair and kind. The road was closed off, blocking entry to his Business on a Saturday. He called me back and told me he'd come in Sunday for an emergency fix I needed for a Lenovo Yoga 9i. I offered to pay him extra for his time and told me to keep it - a dying breed in the service world and highly recommend him, especially for the gamers out there!“
“I have a Samsung S21 Ultra. The back was coming off so I took it in to get it re-glued. The tech told me that the battery was swollen and pushing on the back and that the battery needed to be replaced. He showed me the battery and it was swollen a bit.
I was quoted what I thought was $18 or $19 dollars but that he would have to order the battery. I had no idea what a good price for a battery is, but this seemed reasonable and not worth price shopping, so I said okay and I returned the next day after they texted me that the battery was in the store.
They changed the battery and re-glued the back while I waited and it took less than the one hour I was quoted.
I was told the total with tax would be $90 is dollars. After being quoted “It will be $18 or $19 dollars.” I was shocked. The tech has a foreign accent and so I then realized that what I heard was wrong. It wasn’t that I wasn’t paying attention, the accent was such that I heard $18 or $19.
The tech could see that I was pretty upset about the misunderstanding and gave me a small discount.
After I left, I called a few other stores to see what they would charge and found out that this is a fair price. The problem is that the tech, due to his accent, didn’t set my expectations correctly.
I see that this business has over 700 reviews and all seem to be 5 stars. Based on that, I think this was a simple misunderstanding. I don’t want to cause the tech grief, but I do want to provide the feedback that, especially with your accent you have to make sure a client understands you when you are quoting a price.
I think he was truly sorry about the misunderstanding. I don’t want to jam a good business up over something like that. Overall the service was excellent with that exception.“
“I spilled water on my laptop keyboard and despite all of my efforts to dry it out, the left mouse button and other keys wouldn't work. I reached out to Paul and I was able to drop it off later that day. He called me the following day after looking at it and provided me with an estimate for the repair and shipping time for the part. He called me a few days later to let me know the shipping time was delayed (seems to be the norm these days) and said he would let me know when he got the part and when I could pick it up. I picked up the laptop today and the keyboard is good to go. I would highly recommend Paul if you need a repair for your computer. He's a really nice guy, keeps you updated with regard to the status of the work, does a great job, and charges a fair price. Thanks Paul!“
“Wonderful staff, they took care of my phone's needs quickly and for a fair price. I would definitely return.“
“When I break my phone , I come to see Ryan to fix all my devices. He is the best tech at Carolina place mall.“
