I am a low vision patient and have dealt with my vision challenges since birth. While I've adapted to my disability well, there are areas where I have challenges. I've also found it difficult to find an optometrist who also had a strong background in low vision. About ten years ago after working with our local Association for the Blind, I learned about Laura Kenyon and West Michigan Eyecare and began working with her. I am so thankful that I did. Laura is outstanding, as is every member of the West Michigan Eyecare staff. Laura is very thorough, solution oriented, and has an excellent bedside manner. I have been so impressed that my wife, my mother, my daughter, and my grandmother, all go to West Michigan Eyecare now because of my recommendation! I am also so excited to find out that they have made an even greater commitment to Low Vision. Chris Hedlich, a Low Vision Occupational Specialist and who I knew from the Association for the Blind has joined their staff. I recently met with both Laura and Chris to see if there were any new technologies or practices that could help me with hobbies and other life activities that I'm now finding to be very difficult. Chris was outstanding! She brought her unique background along with Laura's expertise as a clinician, to provide highly personalized solutions to my challenges. I am truly grateful for their assistance and am very excited to finally have a strong Low Vision practice that I believe can rival those in Chicago and other places right here in Grand Rapids. Thank you Laura, Chris and the entire staff at West Michigan Eyecare!
