“Gene came out and fixed my issue with super-high water pressure quickly and cheaply. I talked to 3 plumbers before choosing one, and they all proposed something different. Some recommended some very expensive fixes that seemed incomplete, and others weren't able to clearly explain why their solutions were appropriate. I was also able to call JF and talk to some of the more senior people there about my concerns over potential problems with the solution. “We needed a bathroom sink replaced when the pedestal rig in our small but heavily used bathroom suffered a drain cover seize-up. As the plumber from RL Voight confirmed, pedestal sinks are hard to deal with, so we opted for a new cabinet-style unit. A pleasant encounter with the helpful office person resulted in surprisingly quick turn-around for installation, a time we moved up on short notice when the parts arrived earlier than anticipated. The professional who removed our old sink worked quickly and confidently to solve some minor installation challenges related to our uneven floor level. The eminently reasonable fee was worth every penny for peace of mind from knowledge that the job was done right.“

“Having used them continuously since 1994, I highly recommend Acker and its employee Kenny (who has successfully and efficiently handled our plumbing needs before). Kenny’s work today was outstanding as usual. He was extremely thorough and patiently worked to resolve everything to my and the WSSC water authority’s satisfaction despite our primary plumbing problem today taking more than three hours to resolve (but only because of the WSSC water authority’s long delay in finding our exterior water meter and NOT because Kenny was inefficient). Background: The WSSC billed us 1,000% more than our usual quarterly water bill. It claimed that we probably had a leak somewhere in our house or in our underground exterior pipes. After Kenny determined that we had no such leaks, he astutely suggested that I call WSSC to tell them it was a water meter/leak emergency because of such a high bill and that their water bill and leakage claim were wrong. When the WSSC inspector finally arrived after 90 minutes while Kenny patiently waited here, he then politely proved to its inspector that we had no leaks anywhere and that it had to either be a broken meter or an incorrect meter reading. Bonus: While Kenny waited for the WSSC inspector to arrive, he diagnosed and fixed several other plumbing problems of which I was unaware (but they wwre all unrelated to our erroneously high water bill and WSSC’s inaccurate claim about our supposedly having interior water leaks or broken exterior pipes). So for Acker’s same service call’s time-related charges for which I had to pay anyway because of WSSC’s erroneous claims, we were able to also get other plumbings problems fixed while we were waiting for the WSSC inspector to arrive. Two birds with one stone!“

“I'm very happy with the radiant heat Fred and Elvis (Elvis is awesome. friendly, knowledgeable and all around great guy) installed in my home.Before the radiant heat, I had a hot air blower system that I hated with a burning passion. I missed the radiators I had when I lived in DC. So this was a completely new system.We got a natural gas combination broiler system. It replaced the old gas hot water heater that I was planning to replace in the near future. Unfortunately, I only had enough money to do the basement and the 1st floor of the house (the 2nd floor has electric baseboard heaters), but there's room in the system to add radiators.I love the tankless system.Fred can be a little hard to get a hold of, for that I should make this 4 stars. Elvis, who has done most of the work, is like 6 stars of awesome, so it's 5 stars from me.“
