“I had not done much Pilates before starting at RTR and I can't say enough good things about it! I have been going consistently for the past five months and I have definitely seen results. I find that having instruction is something I really need to have an effective workout, and I really enjoy the teaching I get each time and the instructors' different styles. I love getting a full body workout with the low impact. I can't wait to continue with my membership at RTR!“

“This studio offers a lot of options for classes that fit individual needs. It’s not cheap and not close by to me, but I am still happy to go! I’ve been going to the prenatal yoga classes, which is a class rarely offered by yoga studios in the DC area. Friendly staff and professional instructors that make me feel safe and welcomed!!“

“I have been seeing Dr Angeli Georgallas for the last 6 months to deal with one chronic issue. She ended up finding EVERY other issue in my body that had been causing other issues and soreness that kept flaring up despite going to at least 7 other types of practitioners and modalities. I hate needles, but Angeli’s magical touch keeps me coming back because it has healed me in so many ways! She incorporates many different types of therapy based on what works best for your body and what you are comfortable with. I was unable to weight train the last 3 years, but after I started seeing her, I was able to go back to my fitness routine. She has also healed me to the point where I am at maintenance now - that is her goal for each and every patient. She is the most loving, intuitive, meticulous, articulate, knowledgeable, and passionate PT I have ever met! I have learned SO much about my body and its potential to heal itself that I went from self-loathing to appreciating and loving myself more. I have referred 6 loved ones to her so far and they ALL rave about the effectiveness of her therapy! Although they do not participate with insurance companies, this was the most priceless gift I could give myself. Thank you so much, Angeli!!!“

“I finally found my yoga home in DC! It took years of trying other studios here, but Epic is the most unique, supportive, welcoming space I've found here. The space itself is beautiful, but it's the teachers that really make it worthwhile. Amie's "peak pose" class is one of my favorites, it's a great class to deepen your practice and learn new poses. But seriously all of the teachers are great people and bring something unique to their classes.I'm also in their YTT program and highly recommend it to anyone thinking about doing it! They've really put so much thought and research into the coursework and materials. You learn so much about anatomical cueing and sequencing - more than many other programs, I think. I've learned so much from Emma and Amie (the lead teachers + studio owner and director), and feel like this program has really launched a new phase of my yoga journey.“

“I think solidcore is the best bank-for-your-buck workout class in that Pilates is always humbling and works muscle groups that are really hard to activate. Every instructor I've had has been very good at correcting my form and being encouraging. I think it's a really great cross-training activity for someone who loves running“

“i first met Ryan in 2008 when I joined a local Pilates studio after relocating from NJ. I have been training in Pilates since 1998 and Ryan is one of the top instructors i have worked with. He is really knowledgeable about the kinetics of our musculature and the impact on posture and function. His workouts are always a challenging mixture of strengthening, stretching and balance. I left DC in 2014 but try to train with him whenever I am in DC!“

I started as someone who had trouble lifting at all due to joint issues and now move some serious numbers. He can accommodate different training goals and I strongly recommend him.“

“About eight years ago, I came to Pure Joe's after enjoying Pilates at another well-respected studio in town. The other studio warned me that I'd find Pure Joe too tough - too focused on footwork and form, too demanding. Well, if you're not doing Pilates right, you're not doing Pilates. And Pure Joe's instructors make sure you learn Pilates the right way. They are meticulous, while being supportive and encouraging. They may seem demanding, but that's because form is so critical to achieving the results Pilates has the potential to deliver. The instructors see the routines and habits on which your body relies to remain weak and help you fix those bad habits. I beg for that correction - the value added is in those corrections by the instructor. I can do Pilates on my own, but it's the expertise and experience of the instructors that makes Pilates really work for your body. And there's no better place than Pure Joe. I've tried other studios, other instructors, in DC and elsewhere. But Pure Joe's instructors are unparalleled in the quality of their instruction. My body has been transformed, my core completely strengthened. I even Outdid Pilates through two pregnancies, and the instructors modified the moves to make sure I remained fit and challenged but not cause any problem. Pure Joe is simply the best. Go!“

“I started my journey with solidcore in August and cannot believe how the workout and instructors have helped me change my perspective of exercise, my love for my body, and my appreciation for the strength and determination I have within me. The instructors will meet you where you are, adjusting your form as a beginner and adding weights and resistance as you improve. There’s so many class styles, themes, and instructors to choose from that it’s impossible to get bored- which keeps me coming back week after week! Each instructor has their own unique style, so I highly recommend beginners try as many as they can to figure out what kind of personality you need encouraging you towards your fitness goals. I want to shoutout Kimberly and Liana in particular, who have seen me on my best and worst days, and everything in between, and continue to push me to be a strong individual both inside and outside the studio.“

“I've been doing yoga at Past Tense for several years and love that it's not just a place to do yoga (and Pilates and Mind Body Fitness!) but also feels like a community. I love how many different class options there are, and how much I've learned from the many different teachers' styles and approaches to yoga. After moving away from DC, I continued my membership so I could keep attending all my favorite classes via livestream.“
