“I used Red House's Stage 2 Go package ( The team from start to finish was excellent! I only had a week to plan and most other companies didn't even respond to my inquiries. (Or others that did, said they wouldn't show me what I was going to get, saying I had to 'trust' their design skills.) Red House staff member, Shari, wrote back immediately to me and sent me all the info in an email that I needed to decide. When I explained the tight hallways, she sent me the dimensions of the furniture. She even made calls to find out if the sofa feet could come off to help get it up the stairs. The Stage 2 Go package is simple and I complemented it with things I got at Goodwill and that I purchased for my deck and bathroom (which was fine because I wanted to keep the new towels and shower curtain anyway!) The Stage 2 Go package also came with small things like a few nice artificial plants and things to put on kitchen counters. A few of the wood furniture items were a little bit scratched and the sofa feet were marked up. I think the company could do small things to repaint or re-stain some items (I quickly added touch up paint to the black sofa feet myself). Overall, this was very minor. The rugs and art were in great condition and the sofa and bed looked really nice and the sofa was very comfortable which is important for visitors who sit down to discuss the purchase! De-staging was a little tricky as they want 7 business day's notice and my closing went faster than that. I gave them preliminary notice to get on the books (before I was 100% the sale would go through) and this worked out well. Lastly, their workers are very, very nice, hardworking and professional. I mentioned to them we had just repainted all the walls, including the hallways in the stairway (very common for a sale) and they were ultra-careful. They didn't leave one mark at all on the walls. I saw some prior reviews where this was an issue and it appears the company has really worked on addressing this. Overall, I am grateful for the fast and easy process from Red House for the Stage 2 Go package - and the great price! I easily saved a $1,000 by going with the pre-prepared package and doing my deck and bathroom myself. You can see photos of the staging furniture here:“
“Dan and company are amazing at navigating the very complicated permitting and inspection process in DC! After working with several others to no avail, we called Dan. His calm demeanor, patience to deal with DC hypocrisy, KNOWLEDGE, and ability to quickly find solutions and workarounds for our basement leak and repair were second to none. Even if you are on the fence as to what you need, give Dan a call. He talked us through several scenarios to get us the best solution possible.“
“Jude and her team did some amazing work. She completed a number of small projects for us as well as a reno in our basement and built a custom closet for our nursery! I looked at a few contractors before contacting her. Jude not only provided reasonable pricing, but also had amazing attention to detail, and she didn't make me feel ridiculous when asking questions. She communicated frequently and worked around our schedule. I can't recommend her enough and will definitely be using her services for future renovations.“
“I cannot say enough good things about working with Lisa and Leroy. First of all, they were at the absolute top end of our price range (which made me a little nervous), but I really wanted a super colorful space and I couldn't find another designer who had such a great portfolio with eclectic colorful spaces. And, yes, they delivered on color, but they also delivered on SO MUCH MORE.
Four great things about working with Lisa and Leroy (1) Budget - yes, they are expensive, but they were great at working within our budget range and never going over. They also never made me feel bad or uncomfortable when I didn't want to splurge on something (2) we hired Lisa and Leroy for interior design, but also ended up loving how they planned the functionality of the space. swivel chairs between the living space and the kitchen. a fizzy water faucet. wonderfully designed cabinet spaces. more windows and light. etc. (3) execution - every week we received detailed emails from Katie letting us know what would be happening and when - re: construction. everything moved along so well and we never felt "in the dark" regarding progress on a large renovation (4) the overall space is unique and original, just like I wanted. it's both incredibly functional in serving the needs of our family and incredibly beautiful. I cannot recommend Lisa and Leroy more. They're amazing.“
“We just love what Dennese did with our place! We started with our old, mismatched furniture in a new house that felt too big and out of wack. Dennese came in like a breath of fresh air, mixing our old favorites with some stunning new pieces. She saved us from a few design disasters, too! Now, every room feels like 'us' but better. It's cozy, stylish, and so inviting. We're thrilled with our home's new look, all thanks to Dennese's and her teams magic touch. Highly Recommend.“
“I needed to add a cabinet to my kitchen. I was looking for someone to build and color/style match my existing cabinetry. I stumbled upon Nick's and am so happy I did. She understood what I wanted and built the cabinet in less than 2 weeks. She was very responsive and easy to work with.“
