“I went here for the first time to get a dress tailored. The two people I interacted with were friendly and helpful and answered questions thoroughly. I had to get the dress taken out and made bigger and I was a little worried they wouldn't have the same fabric and color but it worked out! I got the dress a week and a half later and it fit perfectly. It was about $50 which I thought was reasonable. Please note the tailor is only available in the mornings, before 1pm I believe. I also appreciate that they are open earlier than most cleaners (8am)! Quick tip about the entrance: Go to the entrance next to Starbucks and Bandit Taco, not on 16th St.“

“I've gone to Amax consistently for over a year and they're the best dry cleaning service in the area. I don't know why the reviews are so bad (maybe management turned over). I've only experienced absolute hospitality, flexibility, and professionalism from the Women who work here. Prices are consistent and fair, and everything comes back clean and well-handled. They also have a tailor who comes weekly to do alterations, and they do an amazing job. I've had multiple pairs of pants altered at the waist, hip, and ankle to satisfaction. I've seen others have leather/pleather worked on as well. The team is super hardworking and will take time to talk to you about more bespoke issues, like cashmere that's been shrunken or odd stains that won't come out.I don't normally leave reviews, but this place needs a rating closer to 5 stars.“

“Reliable, always. They do an amazing job of cleaning my clothes that need extra care. The people who work here are always so kind and professional. The last time I came here, I dropped off a sweater and the tag was starting to rip off. When I picked it up after it was dry cleaned, I saw that they sewed the label back on. It’s such a small detail, but it just shows the care they put into their service. They do alterations too. High recommend if you’re looking for something in the Wheaton area!“

“Flawless execution!!! I brought in two scrub tops to have hidden magnetic clasps sewn on. I was a little nervous as the tops are Figs brand and a little pricey as scrub tops go. However, Calverton Cleaners did an AMAZING job. The placement is perfect and the stitching blends in so well.It was $28 for the sewing job (I bought the magnetic clasps separately on Amazon) and well worth the money in my opinion. I'll absolutely come back for any future alteration needs.“

They took the skirt in multiple inches, making sure to match the pattern and the top was shortened and sleeves taken off and a zipper put in - so much - and they did a fabulous job.
