“I went here for the first time to get a dress tailored. The two people I interacted with were friendly and helpful and answered questions thoroughly. I had to get the dress taken out and made bigger and I was a little worried they wouldn't have the same fabric and color but it worked out! I got the dress a week and a half later and it fit perfectly. It was about $50 which I thought was reasonable. Please note the tailor is only available in the mornings, before 1pm I believe. I also appreciate that they are open earlier than most cleaners (8am)! Quick tip about the entrance: Go to the entrance next to Starbucks and Bandit Taco, not on 16th St.“

“I've gone to Amax consistently for over a year and they're the best dry cleaning service in the area. I don't know why the reviews are so bad (maybe management turned over). I've only experienced absolute hospitality, flexibility, and professionalism from the Women who work here. Prices are consistent and fair, and everything comes back clean and well-handled. They also have a tailor who comes weekly to do alterations, and they do an amazing job. I've had multiple pairs of pants altered at the waist, hip, and ankle to satisfaction. I've seen others have leather/pleather worked on as well. The team is super hardworking and will take time to talk to you about more bespoke issues, like cashmere that's been shrunken or odd stains that won't come out.I don't normally leave reviews, but this place needs a rating closer to 5 stars.“

“I’ve gone here twice to get dressed altered my maid of honer dress and evening dress, and each time it came out amazing. the seamstress is so knowledgeable and kind to the point where I brought an address once and she told me it wasn’t a good idea alter it and hem it myself because I mentioned I could hem, so they aren’t money driven!“

“I've been here for dry cleaning, alterations and repairs and have been satisfied every time with the service I have received. Sunny is very friendly and patient with understanding your requests and her work is really great and done at fair pricing. I had been looking for someone to taper my yoga pants and several places had said that they wouldn't be able to do that, but Sunny was able to figure out a solution that I am happy with. The turnaround time is extremely fast, and you'll receive a text notification when your things are ready to be picked up. World Cleaners will be my go to spot in the area for all my alteration and dry cleaning needs!“

“Ms. Kim is the sweetest woman! Her storefront may not be much to look at, but her service is impeccable. The dry-cleaning service is great, fast, and reasonable. But more importantly, Ms. Kim is the best seamstress I have ever used. She's made alterations to my wife's dresses, and my suites alike with impression precision and quality. She actually used to be a clothes designer/maker, so she is actually quite over-qualified for what she is doing. We are lucky to have her services in our neighborhood and for such a bargain. I highly recommend this place.“

The last time I came here, I dropped off a sweater and the tag was starting to rip off. When I picked it up after it was dry cleaned, I saw that they sewed the label back on. “We used to live 2 blocks away. Now we live maybe 10 blocks away and even though we have a cleaner down the block we still use Dupont Court. The two ladies greet me by my name . They also make repairs at great prices. My son's tattered tennis bag needed some sewing . George's shoe repair quoted $25. DCourt $10 or so. They don't live close by but are there 6 days a week. Another great thing is that they clean on site . Downstairs. Many cleaners ship out the cleaning.“

“Flawless execution!!! I brought in two scrub tops to have hidden magnetic clasps sewn on. I was a little nervous as the tops are Figs brand and a little pricey as scrub tops go. However, Calverton Cleaners did an AMAZING job. The placement is perfect and the stitching blends in so well.It was $28 for the sewing job (I bought the magnetic clasps separately on Amazon) and well worth the money in my opinion. I'll absolutely come back for any future alteration needs.“
