“I just had a really great experience with Silver Spring Animal Hospital and they'll now be my dog's primary provider. I've struggled with vet care for my 4-year old pup because she's so fearful and resistant. I found this practice through the Fear Free website, because the vets are certified fear-free, which means they've received training on how to calm down fearful dogs. They worked with me to get a good dose of calming drugs before the visit and they allowed me to stay in the room with her which was really important to me (I want to know how my dog reacts and I know my presence makes her feel better even if she was still uncomfortable). Dr. Benton and all the staff I met were really great and everything was clearly explained to me and they took the time to address all my questions.“

“The veterinarian was super nice and loved my ball pythons. The lobby is also really cool looking they have several fish tanks. They seem to really care a lot about the animals and live their work.

Edit: This is one of the closest places near Frederick that accepts treatment on snakes. Also this veterinary office tries to make sure your animal is living in the right environment and gets the correct and needed nutrients or equipment. I might switch all my animals here even though it’s a long drive.“

“My dog needed all of her vaccines updated and her annual check up, so I found this place online. We walked in on a Friday during lunch hour and were the only customers- we were in and out in 20 minutes. The assistants were very quick to check me in and recommended the perfect package for us to get all our vaccines. I was most impressed by the pricing- I have always had to pay twice as much as I did at PetWellClinic for the routine vaccines. The vet also took extra care with my dog who usually cries when getting these shots, and she did not let out one whimper. We will definitely be back!“

“We love Dr. Perl! Even my dogs, who know there’s a high probability he’s going to poke and prod them, but they cannot help but be happy to see him when he pulls up in front of our house! So much more comfortable for my pets, so then for me, too, and so convenient! Kiki I think every time I’ve called, Dr. Perl was able to get to us the next day or day after, and sometimes even the same day. The clincher was during the pandemic, he was still willing to come to our house, masked and meeting outside, and when we took up fostering dogs because we were home ALL. THE. TIME. and needed to bring more joy to our daily lives, one of the fosters was suffering from Kennel Cough, and Dr. Perl did not charge us to see and treat him so it wouldn’t spread to our dog, because he appreciated our dedication to fostering a sick pooch. “Thank you so much for squeezing Captain Morgan in. Dr. Alcott was great, I really appreciate the time he took with us and explaining things. I will try to keep him from eating stuff from outside which is almost close to impossible. It took a good week and he finished his medication and is back to "normal".

Thanks again to the front desk staff and Patrick was very helpful (as usual) answering my reply texts since I can't always get to my emails.

“To be honest, this was the best experience my family has had with a veterinarian practice. (Of course my pup had a great experience too which says a lot!). From the scheduling process, to the appointment itself and follow-up, everything has been great. We came from a different practice, Woodley Gardens made the transition so easy with obtaining all of my dogs prior records from multiple practices which made everything so much easier. My dog has inflammatory bowel disease and is under very specific care and a special diet because of this. Dr. Lowenthal has already been an amazing help with continuing care for my dog's disease and also helping us maintain communication with our dog's internist. I highly recommend this practice!“

“Dr T office is the best there is. The place is not great in emailing back or calling back, but they are very helpful once you get them on the phone and they always provide very quick care and my super reactive dog feels safe and sound with them.“

“I had a fantastic experience at Union Veterinary Clinic today, Monday, 10/7/2024. Over the weekend, my dog had a minor nail injury that wasn’t healing as expected. I called the clinic first thing in the morning, and despite it being a busy Monday, the email receptionist was incredibly empathetic and arranged to see us within an hour!

When we arrived, the staff was welcoming and efficient. We were checked in quickly, and shortly after, Dr. Slotje came in to examine my dog. She was amazing—gentle, patient, and had an immediate connection with my dog. He’s never nervous with strangers, and he warmed up to her instantly. Dr. Slotje carefully explained the situation with his nail and swollen paw and recommended a treatment plan. She also suggested doing a full nail trim while we were there, which was much appreciated, especially since he's reluctant when it comes to nail trims.

Erin, the vet assistant, came in next and did a great job keeping my 95-pound boxer calm with treats and playful distractions. Then Carlos joined in to assist with the nail trimming, holding my dog with care while Dr. Slotje and Erin worked together. My dog may not enjoy nail trims at home, but the team handled everything with ease and professionalism.

I’ve been bringing my dogs to Union Vet for over 15 years, and their level of care and compassion is always top-notch. I’m so thankful they fit us in on such short notice today. Their exceptional service and dedication are what keep me coming back. Kudos to the entire team—you guys rock! ?
