But even if you're not interested in the upland program, this is a really great place to train and/or board your dog. My puppy loves going back there. The staff are all clearly dog lovers. “After searching far and wide for a good, clean, and reputable place for boarding services for my cat, I came across this place. I tried looking for places in the immediate area where I live but kept coming up with zero results. I'm a first-time cat mom and didn't want to leave her just anywhere. RPR&S is a very nice place, and the booking process was easy. Very nice and peaceful location as well, and it seems like dogs have a ball out here, too. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The process of checking in and checking out was seamless. I think I will have to keep this place in mind for future boarding needs.“

“We've brought two different dogs here. Their kenneling options are wonderful, letting you set up an experience as interactive, playful, etc. - or not - as suits your dog. Their trainer gives great feedback and their setup was very wonderful for trying to work through the separation anxiety of my hyper reactive dog ... And now that dog is a happy pup to walk away from me and go okay with other dogs at their daycare. Absolutely recommend trying the variety of services they offer here!“

“We had to write to HIGHLY RECOMMEND the great Reactive Dog classes! Owen really got a lot from them - as did we! - and he'll be coming back for DOCTORS classes later in the summer. We were very impressed that the trainers truly moved at the DOGS' comfort level, using only positive reinforcements, never overwhelming anyone but in the end moving us all along faster than expected.

The class doesn't just set the dogs up for success at school - it sets up for real world success, like this: we took Owen for a walk last night, and from behind a fence there was a burst of unexpected, loud barking and the sound of a dog charging.
Owen looked at the fence, but then immediately checked in and focused to get a treat, then just continued on, ignoring the dog behind the fence. we didn't need to distract or ask Owen to look or anything - he just heard the dog, checked and acknowledged it, then immediately checked back calmly.

We know this is from the repetition and positive reinforcement from the class. It really works!“

“I had worked with another trainer (now deceased) for a number of years who gave me a foundation in obedience training and helped me get my first dog through an AKC Utility title. “I have boarded my dogs here multiple times over the last 2 years or so and have been very happy with the service. The groomer does a great job with them, especially my shep/husky mix. The dogs are excited to see the staff each time they board. The staff know each of my dogs and their personalities and seem to be really good with them. **Not always an easy ask because some of my dogs are absolute maniacs.** My guys are worn out for 24 hours after I bring them home, bonus for me. There is no charge for them to feed my guys their usual food. Additional things I prefer for my dogs: the ability to house my "shy" one with a buddy and that they don't interact with other dogs (no group play). They do offer individual activity add-ons for pets to increase enrichment and comfort while the dogs are there. I have not boarded a cat or pocket pet/exotic pet but they have both available. Worth the drive from DC for my guys. I see a pet shuttle listed for people in the DC area but I have never used it.“

“Absolutely fantastic! This was our first time boarding here. Our dog is an extremely anxious girl, so having to board her makes me nervous. Upon arrival the owner sat with us outside the building until our dog was calm and ready to go in. We did this at each step of the journey to the kennel our dog would be using. I have never had individualized care like this at any boarding facility! I was able to leave our dog there knowing she was going to be taken care of.“

“I needed my cats nails cut asap. Catonsville location allowed me to come in the same day. When i called Owings mills location, no one from grooming ever answered the phone. When someone else answered from another dept, i was told to put my name on a list and Miles would call me back. I've put my name on the list before and no one called me back. I've gone to Owings mills location several times asking about getting my cats nails cut and no one is ever available. Catonsville location was very friendly and made time to fit me in for something that would only take 5 minutes.“
