“Fantastic experience! Had a piece done on my upper arm by Kinsey and I love it. The process was super easy from initially contacting her to final ink on skin. The studio itself is superb. Clean, comfortable, and super cool. Kinsey was a delight to work with. Super easy to talk to. I brought a bag full of stuff to pass the time and didn't use any of it. We ended up just talking for the whole 6-hour session. Overall, a perfect experience and if/when I have more work done, it will definitely be here.“

“My mom-in-law and I decided to get tattoos. Cool huh? Both are simple designs but we'd never done this before. A friend of mine suggested Raven and Rose, and we're really glad that she did. I submitted info via their online contact form and Laura quickly got back to me. We went back and forth a bit via emails on details because, again, our first times. Had a fantastic experience. Laura is great and could not be better. She was really REALLY concerned that we were 100% comfortable before, during, and after. We had lots of questions and she had lots of answers. Each of our tattoos took just 30-40 minutes, so not very large or intricate. She constantly checked in with us during the process. Lots of small talk which she even said ahead of time would help mitigate the very minor uncomfortableness of being poked by a needle thousands of times in the same place. It worked. Laura, and the whole studio, could not have been better. Everyone was incredibly friendly. Highly recommend R&R for any tattooing and related artwork. We're both really happy with what we now have.“

“I had my 2nd lobes piercing for the first time today by Maddie and she is AMAZING! Not only is she super skilled with her techniques, she is also a ball of personality!! My piercing didn't hurt at all and she really took the time to educate me about the aftercare. Also, the aftercare package (which is an optional purchase) is the CUTEST package EVER! It has an instruction card, their stickers, lollipops and a pack of Q-tips to help you take care of your new bling. It really goes to show that Maddie and the rest of the crew really care about their work even after you leave their shop. I can't wait to come back for more piercings with them! Getting an appointment was super easy. Parking was plentiful as well. I like that they have reserved parking spots just for their customers, but there is a small public parking lot within walking distance from their shop if you can't find parking.“

“I've been going to Naked Art for years now and absolutely adore all of the artist there. I've had tattoos by Eddie, Maddie and Ronie. Each time I go in for my tattoo, it's a very welcoming and warm environment. Clean place and decently priced. Just as a heads up, they do not have a piercer.

“What a wonderful experience. Every so often a place of business will raise the bar for the industry. After being tattooed the past 8 years in a variety of high-end shops in DC and Northern VA, I was blown away by the place. This has to be the most state of the art and clean studios I have ever seen. It is located off a main highway, in a nice quiet industrial park with a nice forrest view. There is ample free parking. The inside of Painful Pleasures looks brand new and is very, very well kept. Hell, even the bathroom has automatic sink and soap dispenser, the floor is immaculate. Every little detail is taken care of. The individual rooms they use for tattooing have private TVs and radio options. The tattoo chair is ergonomic and very comfortable. My artist had the cleanliness and professionalism that could make most ERs look silly. There is also a feature to turn the clear glass walls opaque for tattoos in places that not everybody gets to see. All of the supplies are top notch and they don't skimp. My artist even cleaned the chair in front of me with bleach based cleaner before getting started (despite the fact it was already clean). He also opened all needles in front of me and changed gloves repeatedly to avoid any cross contamination. I was hesitant to post because I am selfishly hoping to allow this studio to be the best kept secret in the DMV area, but when a business and an artist put this much effort into customer experience and work, recognition is mandatory.“

“I walked in as a nervous wreck, being a tattoo noob, and from the get-go Anastasia did an excellent job helping me to quash my anxiety. The place was super clean (including the restroom and all surfaces), had excellent art on the walls, and a nice soundtrack. Anastasia was super patient, went really slow and carefully at first, and the rapport between us helped me tune out the discomfort of the procedure. “I had my ears re-pierced by Corina and it was a fantastic experience. I had taken my earrings out during the early days of the pandemic but wanted to reopen the holes for my wedding and I explained this to Corina and she was a fantastic resource and worked with me to clear out the holes i had and reopen them.
The price is a bit steep but honestly you are paying for sanitation, customer service, the hand made jewelry and the one to one consultation and work. I would recommend her to anyone looking to be pierced. It was a very lovely experience!“

“I went to Razer's Edge Tattoo and Piercing looking to have my nostril pierced. I spent a decent amount of time searching for a reliable place to get my nose pierced for fear of having it done wrong, complications afterwards, etc. Razer's had good reviews on google and it was somewhat close so Razer's I went. I pull up and it's good vibes already. Razer is outside before I enter and asks me what I'm there for. I let him know and he asks me to wait inside and lets me know he'll be there soon with some paperwork to fill out. After he comes inside we end up chatting and have great conversation about psychedelics and such, it made me more relaxed getting to know Razer a little more. He's a cool guy! I fill out the paperwork and Razer then informs me about the procedure and after care instructions. It made me feel more secure knowing someone knowledgeable was doing my piercing. The piercing is done almost painlessly !!!! I was so surprised because I expected it to hurt more. His apprentice was mad chill too. A week after and my piercing is almost painless, doesn't even hurt when I twirl it around. No typa bumps or nothin. Idk what kinda magic he worked but I most definitely recommend Razer's Edge!!!“

Their flash events monthly are unique in that I haven't seen other shops do regular flash events like this. I recommend this place to others and have gotten my boss and coworker going there, too. “I made an appointment at Big City Body Art with Maddie and got my nostril double pierced. It was a seamless process. She walked me through everything, she made sure I was comfortable while piercing, and that I understood the aftercare and healing process. She was super friendly and professional and I would definitely go back to her if I want to get anymore holes. The place was set up beautifully and it was immaculately clean and straight, prices were pretty typical of the area and all of the staff was great.

I drove a hour to them, so if you’re looking for a reputable studio that does piercing, it’s worth the drive!
