Scott Ruddick, the owner and Sharon Unitas their administrator have been very supportive on all our needs. They gave a lot of sympathy and attended to our needs. They have excellent customer service and the charges are affordable compared to other funeral homes. Scott and Sharon were always there during the ceremonies from the viewing, to the funeral mass up to Glen Haven Memorial Park where my husband was laid to rest in his mausoleum.I am so impressed with the exceptional service of Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home that I would recommend it to whoever needs their service. “We loved the way you all worked with my brother, it looked awesome. The only problem we had is the driver of our limousine, we was told we would be picked up at 11:00 and was under impression that we would be driven to my niece house to follow the hearse to the funeral home. When the driver arrived at 11:00 he said he would be pulling off at 11:35 being that we was talking and everything we didn't think much about it, he went and sat in the limo until 11:35, then when he came to get us into the limo, there was no suggestion of prayers of any kind, we had to stop him so we can say prayers. Once he pulled off he was driving fine but I realize we was not going to my niece house well he took us straight to the funeral home which made my family including my mother and my father missed walking into the funeral home with their deceased son. This is not the traditionally way we are use to walking into a funeral, we thought we would be walking in behind my brother casket, which we was not able to do because they was already inside when we got there. Now we have to sit on the opposite side of the room away from my sister-in-law and family. Now when we left the cemetery it got worse. He went another way from going to the cemetery and there was a lot of winding roads which he was driving like he was in a race. I said to my aunt he is going really fast, and she said, "ok, I thought it was just me thinking that". You had to hold onto the door handle and everything. He proceeded to bypass people and was looking at them as if it was funny he went through red lights as if you was still in the funeral line. I just think he would need more training in etiquette of a funeral.“

“I am writing about Clara Rickman, General Mgr at Glen Haven. My family's plot is actually at Lorraine Park cemetery, but I had a horrific experience there, actually 2 incidents (2 family footstones installed in the wrong location, both were the wrong color). However, Clara took over my case and I don't think there are words enough to praise the quality of my experience with her. She was understanding, compassionate, patient, paid attention to detail, and she stayed involved until the job was finished. This was especially important to me because I live in Florida, but my family plot is in Maryland.My journey started in May 2022 when I ordered the footstones from staff at Lorraine Park. I realized there was a problem (after delays from the pandemic, staff incompetence, etc.) when the markers were installed incorrectly in May 2023 and were the wrong color. That's when I filed a complaint and Clara took over. She helped me re-order footstones, made sure they were the correct color, helped me through the review of the proof process, and made sure they were installed in the correct place (Feb 2024). It took a long time, but like I said, she stayed with me the whole time. I knew I could rely on her despite the fact that she worked at a different location and she was in another state from me. I imagine it was a lot of extra work for her because sometimes she would have to drive over to Lorraine Park, plus she had her own workload. So, if you plan to use Glen Haven, touch base with Clara Rickman. She will take very good care of you.“

“At the worst time in your life, these are the people you need. My daughter-in-law passed very suddenly so I offered to recon the local funeral homes. At Howell, I was greeted immediately upon entering. We briefly discussed what I was looking for, was quickly handed a preprinted price list with all the information, and given a quick overview of what they offered. The appointment to finish the paperwork was estimated at a half hour. We walked in at exactly 1:00 and walked out at exactly 1:30 with everything done. My son was able to designate me to do the identification to spare him some pain. Her body was laid out privately in the chapel (honestly, we were expecting just a back room) and we were given as much time as we needed. The ashes were back that day and available for pickup immediately.This company is honest and compassionate. At no time were we ever pressured with up-selling, extras, or unnecessary fees. In comparison, the other company doesn't hold a candle to Howell. I am so grateful to the staff at Howell for all they did for our family with no fuss.“
