ACE Therapeutix Physical Therapy

“I can’t thank ACE Therapeutix enough for aiding in my recovery through OT and PT. I highly recommend ACE Therapeutix, they truly are an amazing team. Ada and Shital were so personable, kind, and professional and did such an incredible job in helping me with my recovery. Before I started therapy I didn’t think there was a light at the end of the tunnel, I thought I would be dealing with the pain and limited mobility/affect on my daily living activities for the rest of my life. They provided me with such rapid relief and tools (stretches and exercises) that will truly help me for the rest of my life. If I ever have another injury or flare up from medical conditions/chronic pain, I will surely be coming back though I will certainly be doing my exercises every day. Thank you so much Ada and Shital!“

Thesis Personal Training DC Physical Therapy

“I just completed my 20th workout at Thesis and I can confidently say that this has been one of the best personal training experiences I’ve had. I may be a bit biased because he’s my trainer but, Trevel is as legit as they come. He’s knowledgeable and knows when to challenge me when needed (which is more times that not). I actually enjoy getting a work out in and my results have been great! I’ve already accomplished a few goals and I’m well on my way to crushing the rest!Overall, Thesis is a great gym and I’m appreciative of all the trainers and staff who make the experience worthwhile.“

“I thought this lower back pain would be part of my life forever until I found Focused Physical Therapy. I happened to find this place by chance after more than 6 months of therapy with a franchise therapy company without a good progress. At one point I was considering surgery. Bryan of Focused Physical Therapy took the time to reviewed my MRI report, narrowed down the causes, carefully explored different exercises and got feedback from me. I started my 1st session with them mid January 2023 and the pain was practically gone beginning of April 2023. I have been doing exercises he prescribed since then to keep it pain-free. Thank you so much to Bryan and technician Nathaniel. They were so dedicated to help the customers getting better as soon as possible.“

“I’ve seen Dr. Huffman for two MVAs and I can most certainly say that he and his staff are always a delight whilst attending therapy. Bittersweet having to see Dr. Huffman in this fashion, however he’s helped me reach a place of comfortability even after therapy has ended. The at-home exercises even after therapy has helped me tremendously. The consistent line of communication is impeccable. If I need to reschedule I’m able to do so with no problems. I would recommend Dr. Huffman to other family members and friends as well.

Such a wonderful staff and office. Keep up the great work!“

“I am so grateful that I received treatment at this Active PT location right in the neighborhood! All the staff are friendly and professional. I was able to book an evaluation within a week of calling, and subsequent appointments were always so easy to schedule. The front desk staff are helpful and efficient, a combo that is so rare in DC health care offices! Most importantly, the PTs and other therapy staff are the best. I mostly worked with Carlos over the many months of my treatment, and he is attentive, caring, and always looking for additional ways to support a patient's recovery. He was so good I've been recommending anyone I know who is slightly considering PT to book an appointment and work with him! I also received treatment from Shawna and Jacob, who were both also very helpful and friendly. I also appreciated that parking was easy and free at this location, they were never too busy with patients so I never had to wait for help with my exercises, many staff are also fluent in Spanish, and there are even self-pay rates for ongoing training if your insurance coverage ends. Thank you for being such a critical part of my recovery in 2024!“

Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Physical Therapy

“Star Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Review

Turning 96 in June 2024, I have had excellent health but experienced a number of minor injuries conducive to using physical therapy. So I had had previous experience with this kind of treatment. The time I spent at Star was the best.

To begin with, the facility is pleasant, with large windows, and very well laid out so that three or four therapists can work freely with patients with different levels of need. The atmosphere is welcoming and exudes a sense of community, working together to produce comfort and high performance. Sam Dozier, receptionist and Therapist Aide, greets people warmly, tirelessly arranges schedules to suit your convenience, and throughout your time there offers compassionate support.

I worked alternately with Kyra Corradin and Aysha Ehsan. To sum up, I found them to be kind, caring, and focused. They are professionals with a special understanding of the power of movement to refresh and restore. Although work in the sessions is directed to particular areas of the body, the target is the whole person, not just a sore neck or knee. Kyra and Aysha began each session by asking how I was feeling that day with an interest not only in physical issues, but also in my spirits and general outlook. Their goal was to make me feel better through movement specifically directed to areas needing attention. If I indicated pain in a particular area, they would begin by massaging that spot, literally demonstrating the common expression, “I can feel your pain.”

I always did feel better after my sessions. However, both therapists strongly emphasized the importance of taking personal responsibility for learning and doing prescribed exercises at home. I thought they were great teachers, very good practitioners of their trade, and good at motivating me to carry on the lessons ourselves.“

Manual Medicine Spine & Sports Physical Therapy Physical Therapy

“I was training for a climb which involved following a rigorous, 4+month training plan. Less than 1 month into my training, I noticed a falloff (rather than advancement) in my progress. I was concerned that I wasn’t not gaining the strength I needed to accomplish my goal of summitting 20,000 ft over a multi-day climb, something considerably more demanding than anything I had ever attempted before.

I didn’t immediately realize it, but learned that I had overexerted myself too soon, coupled with using poor technique in many of my exercises. With only 3 months before I was supposed to leave for Argentina, I immediately looked for a physical therapist, met with 2, and felt your assessment of whether I could meet my goal, understanding my history and ability to tailor a plan was best.

Having had 3 surgeries on the same knee previously (2 cartilage clean ups and 1 ACL reconstruction), but having fully rehabbed each, I was surprised when my first month of training produced unexpected weakness around the knee muscles and some knee instability. I found it harder and increasingly painful to do the 200+ reps the plan suggested for the first week of training, but I did it anyway. Despite not getting either the improved endurance or confidence in my knee support level, I quickly realized that if I continued to train without “coach”, I was going to either get to Argentina and fall short of my goal or possibly injure myself, or both.

Prior to seeing Trupti, I was training at a gym by myself, using a training manual and You Tube to teach myself the proper form for each exercise. Having had physical therapy before, I knew I could not just power through this, but rather knew that I needed a professional’s help to create a plan of action that, working backward from my goal and by using the right exercises and technique, would help me avoid injury, measure my progress and help me finish my plan over the next 120 days.

What was unique with MMSSPT, was the free 30-minute discovery session which gave me an honest opinion and allowed me to see if we were a good fit for each other. The second thing that was really beneficial for me was the "hands-on" manual therapy which really helped more than just using ice and electronic equipment I had been given in other practices. I really benefited from all the steps I took, the guidance, encouragement and at times, tough love I received, things I had not received at other practices. Being on the other side of accomplishing a 6-day summit from my 20,000 ft climb – it was very clear that I couldn't have done it without Trupti’s help! This climb pushed me to the limit, and Trupti helped me keep my knee ligaments, structures and muscles in good shape without injury.

At 58, there are aches and pains which I know are inevitable, such as osteoarthritis, but I now have a maintenance plan and am on a good path that will enable me to stay active and keep on doing what I enjoy!“

“Katie is so sweet and her Aux cord skills are DJ WORTHY!!! Dr. Joi is absolutely the best. She is easy to talk to and describes her techniques as well as what she feels wrong with myself and for my children. She's attentive to the kid's reflexes and will verbally say so we as parents are aware of what to pay attention to. Hips, spine, shoulder, knees, and toes are all connected literally it's a great way to learn more about self and expose children holistic practices. I encourage moms who are no longer using their breast pumps to donate them to the practice. As Dr. Joi promotes breastfeeding and latching. A lactation specialist frequents the practice and host events. By donating a gently used breast pump another mother will be able to produce liquid gold if latching is unsuccessful.“

“I found CNMR when seeking ongoing physical therapy/muscle work after recovering from an SI joint injury, and could not be more thankful! I reached out to Jon via Yelp and he was quick to respond and support in setting up an initial appointment. After working with Jon and the team for the past couple of years, I could not recommend CNMR more strongly! The practice is extremely well-run and the staff are kind and accommodating. Jon is a phenomenal practitioner and has worked to craft an adaptive treatment plan with me throughout our time together. I really appreciate his ability to articulate the underlying causes of pain/injury and have gained a ton of insight and knowledge I will carry with me.“

“I worked with Annie almost every week for four months and pretty intensively over the course of six months. Her physical therapy and needling were a miracle. When we began working together I could hardly walk or exercise due to a back issue. I'm completely back to a full exercise routine now and stronger than I was to begin with. This journey was not a straight line of improvement as I had significant setbacks along the way. I will definitely consult with Annie moving forward as I keep exercising because she is so knowledgeable and helpful.

Here is what Annie did that helped so much:
1. Annie really listens. She incorporated the details of what I was doing, what was working or not, and she heard the heart of what I was saying whenever I became frustrated.
2. Annie really watched how I did the exercises and felt the muscles (and whatever else is there) in my back.
3. Because I had a long while when I was improving slowly or having setbacks, it was very important to have someone who observed and understood my situation. Annie did that. I felt that she was totally with me. We did not only talk about exercising, but about how I was moving during the day, how I was sitting when I went out, etc.
4. Annie was concerned to tailor my program to me and what would feel good and motivate me. She made a video of me doing every new exercise with an explanation. She was mindful of keeping me interested and motivated so that I would do my exercises.
5. Even though the needling really worked - a game changer for me - Annie was mindful of not doing it too much and making sure that I could deal with discomfort and temporary glitches when they arose.

I wholeheartedly recommend Annie. I could not have had better care.“

“Purvi is the best PT in DC and it is not particularly close.I had suffered from a chronic back injury for the better part of three years. I had tried 4 different PTs in DC up until that point. Purvi was the only one who was able to fix my back and get me back in the gym.Purvi is smart, kind, and patient. A true master of her craft with years of experience and expertise backing every decision she makes about your recovery. After being in her care for two years I can say that she is, without a doubt, the best.
