One of the few remaining ORIGINAL DECADES - OLD LEXINGTON FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESSES. I am so impressed with the superior service and care! I appreciate that they keep overhead low to maintain the best prices in the area! They DO spend money on the latest, most advanced equipment for the various tests that are the hallmark of a thorough eye exam. The doctor was personable and genuine in addition to being the consummate professional. The receptionists were outstanding and ran the office with respectful consideration towards fellow staff to ensure the customers an optimal experience. And optimal it was! On the eyeglass side of the store, I was greeted by James and Carribean who offered their expert opinions on what style looked best for my face shape. They too, were super pleasant and knew their stuff! My new glasses were ready in two days. I was allowed to bring my frames, and they only charged me for the lenses and nothing more. They hit a home run at the first fitting. There's a reason that they have been established in the same office space all of these years. Long before Yelp, Pal has withstood the test of time because of their fine reputation amongst those of us in the area who have shared our experiences via word of mouth in our community over the years. Excellence in care and old-school charm reign supreme at Pal Optical.

I've been coming here for years. The staff are great, and I've never had any issues. I love that they do most of their own work, which helps keep prices low. Vision insurance is so limited in coverage I just skip it, and always get a great deal when I shop here.

The actual visit is great. The problem is that no matter how many times I previously provide all insurance info I always end up having to provide it again and again.When I’ve attempted to schedule follow up appts while I’m already in the office for my family. The staff insists that I call another time to do so. But, I’d rather do it while I’m already there.I tried calling today and was advised no appt could be made if I didn’t have my families insurance cards on hand even though I’ve previously made appts and then called back with the info &/or just brought the cards the day of the appt.Appts are usually booked in advance which is totally fine. From Pal Optical

Pal Optical was founded in 1955 by Dr. Herman Abel and his wife, Hennie, who was a licensed optician. Dr. Abel brought his family from Louisville and started the business on Main Street. The company was operated with the optical store located on the main level and the doctor's office located upstairs. There was a mechanical chairlift that carried patients up to the doctor's waiting area.
