500 N Meridian St #10B, Indianapolis“This is an awesome gym. Not only is it a gym it's a Jiu-Jitsu family. They are all very nice and welcoming. They make sure that everyone is comfortable and welcomed. They are very honest and upfront. They have multiple class times to accommodate everyone. They not only teach adult Jiu-Jitsu they also have a kids class and a women's only class. They also have Muay Thai / kick boxing and wrestling classes. If you're considering any of these sports you should definitely check them out. My son has and continues to learn so much from this gym. Not only from Coach Board but all of his teammates as well. I couldn't ask for a better establishment for my son to be a part of.“

916 E Main St #111, Greenwood“I stopped in Stockman’s and watched open mats on a Saturday - I saw a higher ranking person (one of the white belt instructors) submit a person that was about 50’pounds heavier than he was. It was IMPRESSIVE and I signed up two days later.
The instruction that the owner and his staff gives is top notch, and they show variations to work around your level of athleticism and body type. The instructors are confident, very competent, and helpful.
Open mats are an absolute blast and it is one hell of a workout - a bi-product of this is that I get better sleep than I have in years. I leave feeling like I actually did something.
As a beginner, when you roll with higher belts they let you work and learn, and match your energy. I’ve been submitted numerous times, but imo that’s part of learning and is humbling in a good way.
There are many high ranking belts that go to Stockman’s which I think speaks volumes.
I can’t say enough good things about this place and the people I’ve met there. Gives me something to look forward to. I started when I was in my upper 40s and that IS NOT too late“

4550 Central Ave, Indianapolis“I had a foster kiddo who I threw into all the things to allow them experiences of a childhood and to find their niche.Nothing compared to Hernly Family Karate. My kiddo was welcomed with open arms and accepted for who he was.Hernly Family Karate offered nothing but a positive and enriching experience from summer camp to weekly sessions-it was nothing short of perfection.Fantastic communication, affordable and well rounded in all the things. The growth I saw and the smile always present after my kiddo’s weekly session and camps spoke volumes.Thank you Hernly Family Karate for being a hidden gem and giving such a wholesome and wonderful environment for all involved.“

9423 E Washington St, Indianapolis“Eastside Family Karate provides my two polar opposite kids with valuable lessons that extend beyond karate. My youngest started at age 4 and one of the first things I noticed was the way karate provided discipline and practice following instructions without punishment or a sense of negativity. My son was easily motivated by his sensei’s fun and active approach to instruction. Four years later, karate is as much intellectual as physical for him, providing a growth mindset that he needs. That focus on growth is important for my daughter, too. Karate is a key part of her transformation from a quiet, shy girl who is afraid to do new things to a quiet, shy girl who has as much confidence in her heart and tiny body as she does her mind. We love being part of the community at the Eastside dojo, a very supportive place to learn, be active, and make friends.“

Private Home not a business location, 645 S Franklin Rd, Indianapolis“Great club. I've gotten more out of training here for a year than I did training for years at other martial arts places. They offer quality instruction in traditional Kodokan Judo rather than merely focusing on strategies for winning competitions. (We do also compete though and members of our club got gold, silver, and bronze at the State Championships recently.) Whether you're interested in Judo for self-defense or just as an artform, this is the place for you. There's also a great deal of emphasis on groundwork here. It's a relatively small club with a relaxed atmosphere.I've got a long way to go and lots of training ahead of me, but I'm confident that Virgil's Judo Club will help me continually improve both as a judoka and a person.“
