“Can’t recommend this place highly enough! It’s made such a huge, positive difference in my life.“
“I had a foster kiddo who I threw into all the things to allow them experiences of a childhood and to find their niche.Nothing compared to Hernly Family Karate. My kiddo was welcomed with open arms and accepted for who he was.Hernly Family Karate offered nothing but a positive and enriching experience from summer camp to weekly sessions-it was nothing short of perfection.Fantastic communication, affordable and well rounded in all the things. The growth I saw and the smile always present after my kiddo’s weekly session and camps spoke volumes.Thank you Hernly Family Karate for being a hidden gem and giving such a wholesome and wonderful environment for all involved.“
“Thank you for the class. I’m a truck driver stoped in to work out. Very nice coach and students. Liked it“
“I cannot speak highly enough to do justice! This team, this family, this group of peers are the most supportive, warm, welcoming, respectful, disciplined and FUN group I could ever hope to find.My son has found his tribe here. I have watched him grow more confident, strong and disciplined in his time here. He has made meaningful friendships. He looks up to his instructors. He has opened up in a way that he hasn't opened up anywhere else.In ways that most people will never understand, they might have saved his life or at the very least given him a new spirit.Thank you GCMA. Thank you Syke. Thank you Caleb. Thank you Sodrel family. Thank you leadership team. And last but not least, Thank you Father for answered prayers.“
“Good school. Classic style with a focus on mental discipline and hard work that is very hard to find in 2023. Fabulous TKD instruction from a family that's been known for quality since at least the 70's. Nice kids, enough adults attend that you'll have fun if you join with your kid.“
“Fantastic place to do kendo. Sensei Park and Sensei Smith really get to the heart of kendo, and are always willing to take the time to help me learn and improve. Good class mates also, from 7yo on up, they want to help me get better, which makes a difference.“
“Great club. I've gotten more out of training here for a year than I did training for years at other martial arts places. They offer quality instruction in traditional Kodokan Judo rather than merely focusing on strategies for winning competitions. (We do also compete though and members of our club got gold, silver, and bronze at the State Championships recently.) Whether you're interested in Judo for self-defense or just as an artform, this is the place for you. There's also a great deal of emphasis on groundwork here. It's a relatively small club with a relaxed atmosphere.I've got a long way to go and lots of training ahead of me, but I'm confident that Virgil's Judo Club will help me continually improve both as a judoka and a person.“
“Eastside Family Karate provides my two polar opposite kids with valuable lessons that extend beyond karate. My youngest started at age 4 and one of the first things I noticed was the way karate provided discipline and practice following instructions without punishment or a sense of negativity. My son was easily motivated by his sensei’s fun and active approach to instruction. Four years later, karate is as much intellectual as physical for him, providing a growth mindset that he needs. That focus on growth is important for my daughter, too. Karate is a key part of her transformation from a quiet, shy girl who is afraid to do new things to a quiet, shy girl who has as much confidence in her heart and tiny body as she does her mind. We love being part of the community at the Eastside dojo, a very supportive place to learn, be active, and make friends.“
“My daughter has been with Gensheimer Martial Arts for the past 10 years, since the age of 6. Jeanie and the other Senseis are fantastic, and have instilled confidence, strength, and leadership into her. The program teaches discipline, respect, and courtesy in a fun environment. You could not find a better program for kids or adults.“
“Something free to do in Fountain Square! I think its ages 8 and up for boxing & karate or adult self-defense. Kind of crowded but lots of great people. Very positive atmosphere!“
“My son has become a blackbelt through this school and has loved it all the way through.“
“I have a ten year old son who has been attending classes at Choi Marital Arts Academy for several years now, and remain very impressed with the structure and training he receives here. All of the instructors are very knowledgeable and skilled, my son has grown a lot in both his physical and emotional abilities because of the training at Choi Martial Arts Academy. I highly recommend them for both Martial Arts classes and their after school program and summer camp programs for anyone needing child care during normal working hours.“
“Wow! I don’t even have words to explain how great this experience has been for my son! As a kiddo who struggles with severe anxiety it is almost nonexistent when he is in class. I see a side of him that has been hidden away for years. I am floored by how kind and patient the instructors are with him! I can’t say enough great things!“
“I have trained here for the past two years. Excellent training for all ages and fitness levels. Very friendly environment and fun but tough training for both competitors and hobbyists. Clean facility. You can't ask for more in a BJJ gym.“
“This is a wonderful environment. My son Eric just started here. I love having him experience this training. I hope he stays with it.“
