Our children have been going to Flying V for 5 months and and they are really enjoying it! We enrolled to help our younger son overcome his shyness at school and it has really helped him gain some much needed confidence. His teachers at school have noted a change in him and we truly believe it’s because of the skills he learned at Taekwondo. In addition to the physical movements they learn, they also teach the children about respect, focus and teamwork. We love Flying V!

We used Oak Park Kitchen and Bath for our gut kitchen remodel. We had a separate architect who did layout and plans, but OPKB did the rest of it. From demo work, rough plumbing and electrical, new framing and drywall, maple floor repair, detailed cabinet layout and installation, and all the finish plumbing and electrical. Our project took a long time, some due to our indecision, some due to delays in permitting from the city, but Ron was patient with us and kept us informed of the schedule and what decisions/purchases we needed to make in what order. We were very happy with the "behind the wall" work they and their subcontractors did in a challenging old building that you never know what you will find once you pull the plaster down. Ron also understood my interest in top quality finish work and they did not disappoint. Tomaz was the on-site lead and was great with communicating with us and problem solving. His particular attention to the floating shelf installation was appreciated.Services: Tile work installation

Great service. The professional checking by Sarah ($95) felt like a relaxing 20-minute scalp massage. I needed an oil treatment, which only took about five minutes to apply, then I kept shower cap on my head for at least an hour ($25). Bought a metal comb for $15. Bug-free, woohoo! Staff were also courteously checking and treating a whole family of four while I was there. I'm glad I took decisive action to have these experts nip any issue in the bud, and give me some helpful tips as well.

I was panicked and terrified to mess it up or not be able to manage and maintain it. RAZ is by far the best hairdresser I’ve ever had. I can’t stop looking in the mirror. We took my nephew here for his first baby hair trim. We had his hair clean shaved and the stylist was so patient while he was crying and has done a great job. The barber who cut my hair was an middle-aged guy. He did a good job, and they can cut hair of all races. The price of a haircut as of July 2024 is $40 (haircut & facial hair).

Marilyn gave the best foot massage I’ve ever gotten during a pedicure. Her pressure is amazing, she runs her thumb up and down your arch and even massaged that tight connection between shin and foot that rarely gets attention. The foot massage alone was worth the money! (Although my pedicure is also beautiful, the salon is clean and smells lovely, and they managed to fit us in on a busy Saturday even when the esthetician we were originally scheduled with had an emergency.)

I was coming from out of town in search of a place for my vacation manicure and pedicure. I found Yanna on instagram and she did not disappoint. She executed what I wanted flawlessly and also made suggestions that enhanced my nail design. My pedicure was thorough , and very nice which is what usually worries me when I visit new places. She was pleasant and I left wishing I lived in Chicago so I could frequent this establishment regularly. The entire staff is friendly which cultivates a warm open environment which is hard to come by.
LeMiya did my Jelly pedicure and gel mani and pedi. She was very nice and she took her time. It was not a rushed job. I will definitely be back.

Tequila is awesome. I’ve been to get my nails done here multiple times and Tequila is by far the best. She’s kind, attentive to detail, doesn’t rush you in and out so she provides a really great experience. I felt so relaxed by the time I left that it felt like I’d been on a mini vacation. And my no chip pedicure looks perfect. If I were solely basing this review off Tequila’s service, this would be a 5 star rating. I’m giving it 4 stars because of the ambience.

First time, to go from long straight blunt cut hair with no style, to trim with a style. Armida listened, looked at photo ideas, discussed, and did a great job coming up with something that would work for me. Very professional and efficient (juggling three clients at same time along with assistant) and caring. Low key and personal atmosphere, clearly cares about her work. Price was quite reasonable (cash only). I have since washed/styled hair myself (true test of good cut), and it still looks good. I appreciated her input on a direction for style.

One of few massage places I'd actually recommend. The massage itself was great. My only gripe was they had a lot of add ons and hidden fees (so be aware!). It was my fiancé and I's birthdays so we were ok with the extra add ons. Do call ahead to book an appointment. Loved how they had facials too with the massages (it's extra $$$, but worth. I would definitely go again but would only go for the massage. I got the pedicure but they were trying to sell the higher prices. Do set your boundaries when you're here!

I highly recommend you get your piercings done here and with Alexandra. She is a perfectionist and that is an awesome quality to have as a piercer. Piercings are not cheap, so it’s so nice to know that my piercer takes each piercing seriously and does excellent work each time. Alexandra used a special sterilized tool to measure and make sure my piercings were even and had equal spacing. She took her time and explained the full process. She did NOT eyeball anything and she was so clean…I mean so very clean. She used gloves and changed them as needed throughout the process. She also rests you flat, uses bright lights on the area to be pierced, has a huge mirror where you can check that you like the placement and makes you feel so comfortable from beginning to end. Alexandra practiced breathing with me prior to each piercing and this is why I think that the pain was minimal, even the cartilage piercing. Please tip well, as I have been to other “professional” piercers and they don’t do 25% of what Alexandra did. By the way, the 3 piercings I had done were the cheapest I have spent on piercings. All three were $35 total for the work and with the jewelry, everything cost $189. It’s a steal! In the photos below you will see that the studs are all the piercings I got that day (third hole bilateral lobes and one helix). I will 100% be back to see Alexandra for a hidden helix and I can’t wait!

As a result having our water service line upgraded we ended up with a clog in the mixer for our bath/shower faucet that our original plumber wouldn't address. I called Reeg to ask for advice and assistance, and everyone in the whole organization was incredibly helpful. Reeg was able to find a replacement part for my ancient bathroom plumbing and come to install it quickly and professionally. The plumber who did the work (Scott) was excellent - he answered all my questions, worked quickly but carefully, left the site clean, and had our tub/shower up and running faster than I would have expected. Their pricing was fair, transparent, and matched what they quoted upfront. One last thing - I also really appreciated how the appointment was scheduled through a system that sent me emails and texts to confirm and follow up. For anyone dealing with plumbing issues in an older home I would absolutely recommend Reeg, and I'm sure I'll be reaching out to them again the future!
Jamie and Nolan from the plumbing team did an amazing job at my place in Oak Park. They came in and replaced the shower fixture, undertook some tasks on a toilet, and even replaced the trap under the sink. They also took care of the outside faucet and debugged several issues. Their prompt response was commendable; they arrived on the same day I called them for an estimate. The best part was that they didn't charge anything for the estimate and came back the very next day to do the job. The service was great, and it’s clear that the new management is doing a fantastic job maintaining high-quality service. I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed with their expertise and efficiency.
I called after tripping the breaker to my fridge and going to the basement to find a mislabeled mess of a panel from the 1940s. Panic!A M & L’s receptionist was very helpful and friendly. She put an electrician on the line who walked me through resetting the breaker free of charge. A M & L saved me the expenses of a house call and a fridge full of food. Fritz and George are beyond amazing! They have helped my family and I with so much! We are so grateful for all their work. The have helped with multiple house projects. Abby's installed a kitchen faucet, a basement bathroom sink, smart door bells, and the most recent project a bedroom demolition and remodel. I have a new ceiling with a gorgeous ceiling fan, beautiful crown moulding, two extra outlets and new baseboards. They painted the entire bedroom and we're incredibly clean during the entire process. For three weeks, they worked with their masks on and we're very prompt and professional. I will continue to use Abby's, no doubt in my mind they are the best and affordable!!
I consider Jeff to be a teaching and reorganizing electrician. During this hot spell, the window AC tripped a circuit breaker. I was afraid to try it again, had to get it going, as my wife is 95, I'm 86.
Jeff checked out the AC, checked the circuit breaker, taught me that this kind of AC draws a spike of a charge when started, explained that there is a reset button on the plug. I had seen that but didn't know how to use it (our son bought it for us, so he has that paperwork for it.)
He moved the plug for a lamp, so that the AC doesn't have to share.
I appreciate all those things jeff said and did.
I asked how to pay him. Jeff said there 'd be no charge. This thank you is the least I can do in return.

Oak Design did several projects for me on a turn of the century Victorian home in Oak Park which had an original interior in a mission style FL Wright had popularized. In 2023, I asked them to assist in a remodeling of a small home in Barrington I had moved to. The challenge was to revise the connected kitchen and family room into a mid-century modern style. We worked together on our ideas for the look and the result was amazing. Oak Design took some photos at the conclusion which I hope they will post on their web site. Everyone who has seen the work has gushed over the quality. Dave, Bogdon and their crews are simply the best.
This is the second time I have used Budget Right Kitchens for a remodel, and both times have ended up with fantastic results. The most recent job was large and complicated in my 100+ year old house, and Dirk was great about meeting with me daily to go over changes or obstacles as walls were opened up and brainstorm solutions with me. We were able to significantly value engineer my project, even as we encountered new hurdles (i.e. expenses) so that I ended up with the majority of what I had envisioned without blowing my budget. Was every day rainbows and sunshine? Of course not, it's a home renovation, but I always felt I could trust Dirk, and we could be direct with each other which made everything as smooth as possible. we have always loved Ponzio Dental; this place is our favorite for dentistry needs, as we have had to try others due to insurance changes occasionally. anyway, aside from providing top-notch preventative care, they have gotten us in for same-day emergencies a couple of times over the years. i can't recommend this place enough.
The staff are always watm and welcoming. They explain any insurance updates in great detail. And the dental hygienists are always extremely mindful of my comfort.

Have you ever been to a dentist who has a chair that gives you a massage? That's just one example of how much Dr. Smith wants his patients to feel comfortable. His use of technology is amazing. He has a little camera that is hooked up to a computer. He doesn't just tell you that there is crack in your filling - he shows you where it is - magnified on the computer monitor. I needed an inlay and he took a picture of the tooth ready for the inlay. He has a computer program that uses that image to cut the material for the inlay right in his office lab. It's a perfect fit. What also impresses me are his communication skills. He presented me with a plan to show various procedures that needed to be done, the cost of each, and didn't make me feel pressured to do anything that I didn't want to. His staff is just as friendly as he is. Yes, it's expensive to have the work done, but I'm worth it!!!

She is booked and busy, so plan ahead!Although I’m not visiting the office as frequently as I was before (2x week), due to my schedule/availability, I intend to drop in occasionally for chiro care and massage therapy. As a doula, I find it necessary to receive this monthly maintenance.

I have immensely enjoyed learning and practicing yoga at Yoga Loft Studios. I am in reasonable physical shape but I do not have good body flexibility or core strength. I had never done yoga before in my life and decided to sign up for a two week unlimited class special to see how I liked it. Jill (owner) and her team are outstanding. There is a wide variety of classes and I have enjoyed the challenge and reward of each type. Her team of instructors provide a variety of yoga routines that keep the sessions interesting and fresh. The instructors are high energy and engaging. There are morning, afternoon and evening sessions which are super convenient. After each of my sessions that I attend, I feel like I have received an extensive work out but at the same time I feel rested and refreshed. Even if you are a novice, give this a try and you may like it as I have!
I'm still in LOVE with Yoga Six. I have been getting to know the different instructors. Everyone is different. I don't like a workout that is TOO intense. I would say mid is good enough for me. I love RESTORE which is really slow and just focuses on stretching. I do love HOT and Power Yoga. Sculpt yoga has given me such a workout that I have been sore for a few days. Everyone is so nice. I love that the studio is super clean. My current favorite instructors are Claire and Ana. They both have great positive, encouraging energy. I just hit my 30th class!
I’m a local gym owner and I am frequently getting a massage. I found Haarn on google & I am so happy I did. Nara was very kind as well as knowledgeable. She applied great pressure. Her leverage because of the massage being done on floor was amazing. Perfect combination of yoga/ deep tissue. Thai massage is the way to go. I’ll definitely be back!

Rick did a great job! My back has been bothering me due to my work in metal recycling. Rick started with a Thai technique stretching out my back and body then moved into a deep tissue massage on the table. Everything he did was perfect! Rick himself greeted me when I entered, the facility was clean and relaxing! The other reviews claiming it is sketchy are ridiculous and untrue. Give Rick a shot, you won't regret it!

I am a big fan of Palmgren Acupuncture, which has been a literal lifeline for me for 2.5 years. My acupuncturist, Kholood, is a gifted healer as well as a trained Registered Nurse. This combination is potent, as she understands both Eastern medicine (deeply) and understands where my other Western-medicine providers (PCP, etc) are coming from. I built a strong base with Kholood for 1.5 years before I was diagnosed with cancer, and was therefore better able to cope with my diagnosis, surgery, and recovery -- and to recover in a stronger, more supported way. I am a longtime yogi (have suffered from hypermobility/overuse injuries now and again in the past 20 years) and I am also a runner. My care at Palmgren has been supportive on both of these fronts as well.
