“We are very happy with the outstanding service provided by Davenport Family Funeral Home for our mom’s funeral. We would specifically like to recognize Jennifer Valentine and Peggy Woods at the Barrington location. Jennifer expertly guided us through the process and made sure every single detail was taken care of despite a very short window to make the arrangements (3 days). Peggy made sure that everything was seamless and ran smoothly the day of the funeral. Both of them were exceptionally professional, kind, and compassionate throughout. We credit Davenport for making an extremely overwhelming process as easy as it could be under the circumstances. Even though we only had a few days to make all of the arrangements, the funeral was perfect in every way thanks to Jennifer, Peggy, and the entire Davenport team. We truly felt taken care of from the minute we first contacted Davenport until the end of the funeral service. They coordinated everything with the church and the cemetery and gently guided us and our guests where to go and when the day of the funeral so we did not have to worry about a thing. The Davenport team then arranged to deliver the flowers to our home the next day, drove to our house in a snowstorm, and even shoveled our steps! This is just one example of the many times that we noticed the Davenport team going above and beyond. We highly recommend Davenport Family Funeral Home not only for its comprehensive service and transparent pricing but also for the exceptional care and compassion the Davenport team provided to us during such a difficult time.“
“Marsh made a difficult time in our life alot less stressful. Mirella the funeral director, made sure all the arrangements were in place and we the family didn't have to worry.“
“I highly recommend them.
They helped us starting the day my mom passed away until her final resting place two weeks later. Their support, care, and presence throughout the entire process helped my family immensely.“
“The love of my life, Victoria had passed away leaving all her friends and family devastated. This funeral chapel was so kind to everyone and was very helpful in making sure everything was perfect. It is very cozy and peaceful here. Thank you for letting our final goodbye be in a good place.“
“The Davenport funeral home at Lake Zürich did a fantastic job with my father’s cremation service. They were very compassionate and incredibly accommodative of our Hindu (Vaishnavite) traditions. I was stunned at how well they had dressed my dad in traditional attire (panchakacham) based on a YouTube video we have provided them. Thank you ?“
“Our family cannot say enough about Smith-Corcoran. This past month, we said goodbye to a third family member whose funeral was arranged with them. It is a family business, through and through. They treated all of us, including the deceased, with warmth and the utmost respect. They take care of all the details, big and small. They jumped in to fold funeral programs that we had printed privately. They handle everything with care and ease and we cannot recommend them highly enough. We will be forever grateful for how well they have taken care of our loved ones thorough the years.“
“It feels a little strange to leave a funeral home review but to the person reading this, I’m sorry for your loss. There’s not a single thing anyone can say to make things better. However, McMurrough Funeral Chapel made everything the best it could possibly be for my family when we lost our mom late April 2024. If you want the short version, these people aren’t after your money. You’ll know it the moment you call them with questions. In 10 words or less, they are dependable, trusting, caring and accommodating to your needs. The director and his assistant are very communicative and professional. During the service, they were available yet respectful of you and your guests’ space. If you have time, read on. Our mom peacefully went in Las Vegas and needed to be flown to Chicago. Between the coordination of my mom’s flight and assurance of her safe arrival to the funeral chapel, McMurrough’s funeral director, Brian gave the utmost comfort and peace of mind for all of us. They are very organized. The viewing service and mass were beautiful and these dependable, wonderful, caring people of this funeral home made it all possible.
P.S. We lost our nephew years back and we did not have the same experience with Burnett Funeral Home down the road however, I don’t want to give them a negative review as I understand folks have a business to run.“
“The staff at Bradshaw & Range are not pushy with their services or pricing.

From the family time in reviewing the body the facilitating at the church, the coordination to the cemetery was handled professionally with understandable communication to everyone.
Thank You Bradshaw & Range“
“Matthew and the team at Symonds Funeral Home made a difficult process easier. Not only were they patient and understanding, they anticipated obstacles and did everything they could to simplify the process. I can't recommend them enough.“
“All my family has been served starting as far back as 1969. There are no words in the dictionary to describe their careful, gentle treatment of our loved ones as well as those that come to pay their respects. They go out of their way to make every need and request honored if at all possible. They took time with us when we came in to make arrangements. They helped us think of things that hadn't yet come to mind. Afterwards, if we called with a question, they gave us such respect and time. We will always go here!“
“My beloved aunt was interred at Shalom Memorial Park this afternoon. Hers was a life well lived in service to her family, her clients and her myriad friends near and far.The manifest stress that resulted secondary to her passing was exacerbated by the fact that her daughter, my nominal cousin, is a card carrying member of the lunatic fringe, certifiable and several French fries short of a Happy Meal.Imagine, if you will and care to, flying in from Florida to Chicago during the dead of Winter to bury the most important person in your life, sans winter coat and/or notification of the plethora of friends and relatives who knew and loved this person, and, upon arriving at the burial plot, asking site management to inform the few guests that presented that, because the daughter traveled from a warm enclave and has no winter coat, the eulogy would take place outside the certifiable daughter's rented Toyota Corolla while all guests gathered around the vehicle from which heat and David Bowie emanated, while daughter sat warm, comfortable and completely impervious to all that transpired around her. I'm still trying to figure out how Shalom's management team and the excellent presiding rabbi pulled this off without averting their eyes while explaining this "plan" or, frankly, laughing out loud. That they were able to do so both transparently and professionally is and was unfathomable to the few other relatives in attendance and me, and was, again, appreciated. While my beloved aunt now resides on the other side of eternity, her progeny lives on, which is perfectly acceptable as long as she returns to Florida and never again darkens either my doorstep nor generally jovial disposition any time soon, if ever again.“
“Mark and team were very helpful during a difficult time for our family. Thank you for the support.“
“I had a very unique, terribly sad situation regarding my beloved dog, Bella. John Gibbs came to my rescue. He was the most understanding, compassionate, helpful person. He made a horrendous situation bearable. He immediately took care of everything for me. I never could have lived through it without him.“
“I would like to give a huge thank you to Oliva and Nancy for their help and support during my mother’s funeral process. This was something new to me, but they always answered any questions or doubts I had very clearly. My mom started paying off her crypt around 2009 or 2010 and me and her are very grateful for the staff from that time for helping her during that process as well. She never had any complaints. Thank you for all you do. (Funeral: July 16, 2024)“
“Words really cannot properly express how grateful we are to Kevin Kristan and his team. They took great care of our family, helping make a very difficult time a little easier. We didn’t have to worry about anything, as they took care of every detail. Kevin’s demeanor is very comforting and was so appreciated. It’s clear he truly cares and wants your experience to be as positive and easy as possible. We would recommend Kristan to anyone looking for the best help available in handling the loss of a loved one.“
