I always have a blast and learn a bunch each class! Ben encourages me to do the scary things I wouldn’t do on my own which gives me a bunch of confidence on my board. He walks me through techniques to accomplish tricks efficiently which helps me a lot. I love that he has a private setup of all types of awesome ramps that he built himself. Dude is an awesome teacher, and extremely passionate. 100% recommended.

As a mid-thirties emo with a closet full of Vans, I wanted to learn to skateboard, but I was intimidated where to start. I was scared I’d be an adult in a class full of kids with parents watching or there’d only be instruction for skaters who’d been doing it for their whole lives.Enter Ben / Sk8 Chicago. He has such approachable, non-intimidating energy, and made the sign up process really easy.The whole lesson was perfect. I never felt nervous, intimidated, or out of place. Ben is a kind, patient and caring teacher. He goes out of his way to help and ensure his students understand tricks and skating techniques. I highly recommend Ben as a skate instructor for private or group lessons/parties.
