This place is a part of the University of Illinois Health System. I've been here a few times, but don't expect courteous service. The location is excellent with bus and train service. The eye doctor I've seen for almost 10 years is ok for normal checkups and not beyond. Saw an eye orbit doctor, who was one of the worst individuals I have encountered, he basically said my face was crooked and he cannot measure my temples, after pressing the device extremely hard on to my face that made me cringe in pain. Very disappointed with my Visit. Was treated as if it was a huge inconvenience to see me and as if I I was lying about my vision. The technician constantly asked “are you sure”, “try harder, blink, are you sure you can’t see that” when asking what I could and could not see. In the end I was told my vision changes are all in my head and will get better eventually and there was nothing they could do for me. I drove almost two hours to be seen here and it was a complete waste of my time and money. Will never go here again also told my referring doctor about my experience and he was absolutely appalled at how I was treated.
The nurse, attending doctor, & the doctor all performed the same test on me. 3 TIMES! I was told some information & sent to see a specialist. Well I just left the specialist & I received all the correct information. A lot of things that this doctor office told me was wrong information. Thankfully the specialist clarified everything & gave me the right information.
