I wish I could give this unprofessional, clown show 0 stars. The woman that teaches the Sunday morning 9 AM class is the most unprofessional clown. She has no regard for clients and is completely lacking in manners. I was waiting, locked outside of my class for 20 minutes. I buzzed to get in and called the studio countless times to no avail. No one answered the phone or let me in. People from a nearby studio were even trying to help me and were confused as to why they wouldn't let me in. She did not come to let me in until after the class had started, and told me that she reason she didn't let me in is because she's the only one working there right now. That is not my problem? I paid for a class here, and should be let in on time. Because this was my first time in this studio, I had some questions for her about my physical limitations and disabilities. But when I tried to get some help from her, once I was inside, she turned her back and walked away from me. She shut me up as soon as I started talking because she had to teach the class. Then why not let me in on time? This was my first time at this studio. I had no idea what to do. She is a disaster. Stay away.
I live in the neighborhood and am so glad that I found LightSpace! Tutu has been my instructor for over a year and I love how my body has changed and strengthened over time. Tutu starts every session with a simple question - how's the body doing? - and the next hour from there is all about connecting with where I am and appreciating what my body is capable of. Pilates is a great practice for gentle but meaningful training, and LightSpace is a great place for Pilates !
I first came to LightSpace when I was training for my second marathon. My entire body felt beat up after only several weeks into my training schedule. Before coming to LightSpace, I tried yoga and massages which never fundamentally made me feel better. Then I tried a private session at LightSpace with Allison and came out feeling like a new person. I was instantly hooked. The first session was almost magical - I lied on the cadillac, tried to activate muscles (think pelvic and 'core') that I never noticed, barely sweated and almost all the tension I felt in my body was gone after 55 mins. Now I have been a client at LightSpace for almost three years. I primarily did weekly...read full review
