Just drove up and was helped. My car noted low tire pressure and Fred's took care of me without an appointment. Friendly, caring and honest and "happy to help'" Thanks for helping me before tire issue became a bigger problem.
Fred's is an honest, reliable, and speedy mechanic shop that I highly recommend to any in need. I took my 2012 Chevy Malibu in for an issue with the front end (lights for ABS, Traction, and ESC were on too) before taking a long road trip and I had my issues fixed and my car back in the same day! My car needed a diagnostic test to be ran, and the bearings and wheel rods were replaced on the front end which cost a total of $950. Fred, the owner, was kind and helpful throughout the process and made sure that my vehicle would be safe to take a trip in. I cannot thank Fred and his staff enough for the great work that they do.
On my most recent service appointment, the mechanic (Ray) stated that they had an idea of what the problem was (car wouldn't start, it ended up being the PCM, which they guessed correctly) but they recommended taking my car to a dealership to get a more sure diagnosis and service from the manufacturer. It was the first time I've ever seen someone do that in the car service industry. Everyone at Fred's strikes me as honest and very kind, which is nice because anything related to car service usually seems at least a little murky. This has become my trusted mechanic in Chicago and I will definitely be coming back.
