They cleaned a small office for me. The carpet is 6-7 years old and wasnt very good quality to begin with. When they were finished the carpet look 100% improved. they moved out rolling file cabinets from the desks and made sure they cleaned as much as possible.
Troy remodeled our whole main floor and has fixed multiple “do it yourself” issues from the previous home owner. He came in on budget and ahead of schedule by a week (which was great because we had our baby a week and a half early- three days after we moved back in). His attention to detail and high expectations create such a fantastic final product. We call Troy for all our plumbing and remodeling needs.

My daughter and son-in-law's wedding was recently held in Iowa City, IA at the Iowa Memorial Union. All moms and stepmom were out of town, and we were the wedding planners! At the time, the wedding was about three months away. I read through all the Yelp reviews of floral designers and florists in Iowa City. The first florist I contacted notified me that they were booked that day, but recommended Flowers by Jacqueline. I called and spoke to the owner, Jackie, for quite a while. She asked me questions about my daughter's style, and preferred colors, flowers, etc. When I told her my daughter's style was more in the Bohemian vein, she laughed and said that gave her some great ideas. One of the things she first mentioned, was using thistle. My daughter loved the idea. After we gave Jackie our colors (pale pinks and blues and ivory), she felt she had enough to go on. We let her do her design work and kept her apprised, with photos, of what was being used on the tables. The week before the wedding, it was decided that an arbor would be used. Without flinching or hesitation, Jackie jumped on board and said she would take care of it with greenery and some flowers. Without anything on it, it looked like the gallows. However, after Jackie and her crew were finished, it was beautiful! it was so much prettier than any of the ones that I saw online. I was so happy and so was my daughter and my planning cohorts. Jackie was easy to work with and kept me in the loop at every turn. The bouquets, table centerpieces, guestbook/gift table arrangements were exactly what we wanted; everything was perfect! As a harried mother of the bride, I did not take any photos of the flowers, the arbor, the bouquets, boutonnières, nothing! I will post photos once I receive some from other folks. My daugher-in-law sent me the one below.

Kara did an amazing job styling hair for my wedding day! Not only did her hairstyles look amazing, but she was also prompt, worked efficiently, and communicated well throughout the entire process.
When I first met her for the hair trial she knew exactly how to achieve the look I requested and told me upfront that adding clip-in extensions would be necessary to achieve the length and volume I was looking for in the style I wanted. She was not pushy and made it clear that I did not have to purchase extensions, but helped set expectations on how my hair would look both with and without extensions which I appreciated.
On the day of my wedding she was able to effortlessly meet the differing requests of me, my bridesmaids, the mother of the bride, and the mother of the groom. She executed two updos, one half-up half-down, and two fully down styles for the wedding and all looked phenomenal throughout the day despite us all having different hair types and the extreme humidity and heat on the day.
Beyond her expertise in hairstyling I also really appreciated her demeanor on the morning of the wedding - she was aware of the different personality dynamics in the room and not only kept her cool, but helped the entire group of us stay relaxed throughout the morning which I greatly appreciated. She was laid back and easy to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process which was important to me.

Buzz is by far the best hair salon to get a haircut. Eric has cut my hair for about two years now. I no longer live in Iowa City but I still come back to get an excellent cut from Eric and to enjoy the atmosphere of the shop. Danny, who always checks me in at the front is very prompt and polite. Offering complimentary beverages and always easy to talk. Eric is not only my barber/hair specialist but he is also a friend. He’s super funny and super kind so I recommend asking for Eric if it is your first time at Buzz.

My daughter and I were able to get appointments for pedicures very easily. We were warmly welcomed and by friendly staff. Great pedicure, especially good nailwork and callus removal which isn't always easy. Clean salon and comfortable massage chairs.

I go and see Olivia at Avenson. I have had nothing but good experiences getting my hair done with her! I have never had a stylist be on the same page as me so quickly. I brought in some inspiration photos and after a 10 minute consultation, she had a plan and got started on my color. She was concerned with getting my dream look while also considering how to do it with the least possible damage to my natural hair. In the past I’ve had some really bad experiences at different salons. I’m so glad I finally found someone who sees the vision and executes it flawlessly! I can’t wait to go back for my next appointment!

The service at this salon was awesome! I booked with Ryan after attempting to cut my own bangs. He was super understanding when I described what I wanted for my cut. Anytime he was unsure, he got a second opinion from Rachel before proceeding. I appreciated that he clearly communicated what he was capable of and did not go in with false confidence. During my cut, a client came in with her young son, who was getting his first haircut. His stylist, Molly, offered toys, combs, and a children’s tv show to keep him distracted. She even offered to sit on the ground with him to do the cut! The mother decided the best option was holding him and standing while he got his haircut, with many breaks in between. Overall, it was really great to see how accommodating the entire salon was for their clients! Not to mention, it was the most budget friendly professional haircut I have ever had! I highly recommend. Also if you are unsure about if they have experience with your type of hair, they will be honest with you! Just ask :)

I always get compliments on how natural my hair color looks and how my gray hair just looks like highlights. He gives a great haircut and I always walk out of the salon feeling great!

I got my tattoo during walk-in day today. The experience was so slick. Michelle drew up my design exactly as I’d hoped, and she was super patient with me while I flip flopped on where to place the tattoo. She did incredibly crisp line work in nearly half the time I would’ve expected. I paid $150 for the tattoo, which I felt was extremely appropriate. Awesome experience all around- I will definitely be going back.

No matter how many times you call nobody returns your call which isn’t great. But the long weekend I ran into trouble I somehow got Mr Nelson on the emergency line. He came out to fix my water heater. I was so happy about that and this is why they get 4 stars. They only accept checks or cash which is a bummer. So if you need something done you have to see if someone will answer the phone between 8am and 1pm. Otherwise dial another plumber.

We've hired Chambers for a couple of jobs across two houses over the years. Emily is great! She clearly has a passion for older houses and did some extensive "sprucing" of older/not up to code wiring and replaced a midcentury bathroom fan for us recently. It was a lot of work and she talked us through everything she did. We thought they were very reasonably priced and would recommend them to anyone for large or small jobs.
Price Electric is currently doing a job at Walden Place. They have been super amazing and helpful. yesterday we had a food truck get stuck on the side of our building, Sean and his guys went out and helped him get unstuck. Sean ended up pulling the Sysco truck with his own truck!! they have all been so amazing and kind to our staff and residents!! we are very happy to have them around. :)

We scheduled a cable technician to come out and problem-solve our antenna TV cables because they suddenly stopped working and Grandma could no longer watch MacGyver at 4 pm each day. The cable tech discovered immediately that we just needed to push the button to reset the outlet and it would work. Oh, were we embarrassed about our oversight but the technician was very kind and careful to protect our ego. :) His visit was so short (less than 5 minutes) that he didn't charge us. Something was different in the living room, the coffee table was off-center. When I moved the table I saw why: someone had tried to conceal a horrible spill. A foot-long murky brown stain had been left to molder on the light Berber. Ugh. I thought I would need new carpeting. But then Cory from Randy's Carpet Cleaning showed up. He is a genius! My carpeting was restored to the point it looks brand new. Spills from years of guests vanished. Thank you, experts of carpet cleaning. I am one happy customer!

After the recent derecho event in Iowa City, 30 feet of the main trunk stem of a maple in our backyard wedged between two birches closer to the house as it fell before ending up resting on our roof. It was still attached to the maple about 15 feet above the ground. We were lucky there was no penetration by any branches. I contacted General Tree Services and the next morning Mick showed up to look the situation over. Mick and Junior came back about 1 PM with their bucket and wood chipper. In less than three hours and with some great rope work, the tree was completely removed with no damage to the house, the wood was chipped, and the area was cleaned perfectly. My wife and I watched the whole operation and were duly impressed with both their speed and care. I heartedly recommend General Tree Service for their abilities and their fair pricing. I love Black & Gold Chiro! They gave me a free consultation with X-rays, and discussed what they saw. I felt no pressure from them but wanted to move forward to address my issues. Since then, I’ve been back numerous times (2-3x per week for over a month). Everytime, I am greeted with a smile and warm welcome. They have helped with my neck issues so so much. I’ve had a bad neck for about 8 years which often led to awful tension headaches, and nothing has ever helped until now. I haven’t had a headache in weeks and I feel much better! I have been taking Aerial Yoga at Serenity for a little over two years now, and I cannot say enough good things about Marcie and the space she has created. Marcie meets her students at the level that we're at and challenges us and encourages us to go further and get stronger. Her expertise and positive energy make for a wonderful experience. Serenity Studio is a relaxing and welcoming environment. I always leave class with a smile on my face. Recently, I went grocery shopping after class and was told by a stranger that I was glowing, and I let them know it was the afterglow of a great yoga class.
What a beautiful yoga class! Martha is a gem. I am so grateful to have found this studio here on yelp, what a blessing! I messaged Martha and she got back to me very quickly with updates to the class schedule and welcomed me with open arms. I took the Saturday beginner class which was recorded live for her virtual students around the country. It was a beautiful class. I had never done this series of postures in this sequence before. The instruction was wonderful. I can't wait to join in again. I am from out of town and am even considering doing the virtual classes when I am not in town. I just love spending time and learning from such present instructors to help me deepen my practice and Martha's Yoga Studio is a beautiful place to do so in a small, yet powerful setting.
Such an amazing studio. I’ve been going here for about a year and have absolutely loved it. They have a great variety of classes - I started doing hot yoga for the first time here and found a lot of options for more beginner options. Classes can get a little full sometimes, but never to the point that I feel cramped or like I can’t do the poses. Would highly recommend.
This is where I first practiced yoga. I was given such an incredibly holistic introduction to yoga, it's philosophy and practice. I learned about myself, and experienced great times of emotional release. Betsy and all of the teachers in this studio clearly care about every person that walks through the door. I have visited dozens of studios since, and I cannot recommend this place enough! If you can't attend in person, check out the online zoom option... Set aside a space in your home, and enjoy the love that is shared in every practice!
We heard great things about them so we went as a couple to try this out. It was such a good price and a great massage. The guy there did such a good job on my upper back and neck area I got full range of motion back for my neck, when before I had felt locked up. We will be going back!

Anne provides a soothing atmosphere and is very responsive. Her massages are very relaxing and does a good job of lossening those stress balls.
These guys are extremely technical and masterful with their hands. If you trust them (I’ve only spoke up about to much pressure once, when I had a sore tailbone) you will absolutely leave feeling great. They can for sure give you a gentle relaxing massage- but if you trust their licensed expertise you won’t regret it. Also, then ten or so extra bucks for oil is always, always with it.
Eric is amazing. He is exceptionally skilled at what he does, and is also both extremely knowledgeable and intuitive. Those qualities are not easily found, and finding them in one person is essentially like finding a unicorn.Having lived with intractable pain for over 30 years, it's nearly impossible to fully trust anyone when it involves merely touching my back, let alone attempting to "treat" my pain.That said, I was comfortable and I trusted Eric without hesitation, the first time we met....which was also the first time he worked on me. I've never immediately trusted anyone in the many different variations of the medical field, before. He radiates good energy and I actually noticed a change after just my first visit.
The massage was fabulous--from the detailed intake form that checked in on specific needs and medical concerns, to Pamela's skill and care. This was a healing, relaxing, and restorative experience! I have already recommended Pamela to a friend.

Rock Valley Physical Therapy in Bennington is amazing. They truly go above and beyond to get to the root of your issues and help to create a sustainable plan towards healing. Their communication and service is fabulous and the atmosphere is clean and fun! Highly recommend RJ for both PT and dry needling!
I have been a long-time patient of Joe and many of the therapists at Team Iowa since they have opened their doors for various injuries, but mainly back and neck concerns. Everyone is so friendly, from the minute you walk in until you leave your appointment. I have always been well cared for and treatment has been individual to what my body and injuries can handle at the time of treatment. When finishing with PT treatment for an injury I'm always back to 100%. If you're looking for great and compassionate care, this is the place, Joe and his team are the best. Who knew PT appointments could be a fun thing to go and do, but they definitely can be!
After my recent surgery, the exercises suggested were not not increasing my range of motion as much as wanted. Kayla 's treatment had worked well on previous issues so I was eager to come back. We have made great progress on better range of motion, less pain with movement, and also increasing strength in my right arm. She also provided support and encouragement in other areas of movement to talk to my neurologist about. This has led to better treatment options in the near future. I appreciate her professional skills and her empathy.
I sought this form of alternative care due to the longevity of my health issues. What a blessing! My migraines have diminished and no longer have prolonged periods controlling my day-to-day living. This form of acupuncture has increased the quality of my life, please understand this is not an immediate cure all. This is a form of treatment, a treatment which is continuing to produce results.
My guy Rob is a guru or something along those lines, he just noticed my voice was off one day when I was working and just got me a huge bottle of some Chinese herb capsules and they worked like a charm! Never had an actual doctor fix me that fast but Mr Rob did.
Always feel much better after appt - I go for neck, shoulders, hips, and tendinitis in hand. I have even gone for a sprained ankle!
