We had Cyclone Contracting remodel our master bathroom. The process was easy from start to finish. Everyone was very professional and friendly. The designers Jennie and Nikki were so helpful and very thorough. Every detail of the project was explained and all questions answered. They were very responsive to e-mails (and I sent a lot!!) Nathan, the project manager, was also very responsive (again, I sent a lot!!) and kept us informed of the timeline and any issues. He could be reached by phone or text and responded quickly and, if necessary, would just stop by the house. He checked on the progress frequently, so he was available to answer questions. Everyone on the Cyclone team from the the demo crew - Rodney (and I forgot the other gentleman's name) to the finishing crew - Paul (and others I forgot) were wonderful. The subcontactors - electric, plumbing, and drywallers were also very professional and courteous.Lori was involved with the project from start to finish. It is nice to have a point of contact in the office as well. The BuilderTrend site was such a useful tool. We could check on the timeline, pay invoices, look at photos of the progress, as well as see the signed contracts/estimates and drawings.We were very pleased with the end product! We are ready for Cyclone Contracting to work on our next project!
We live in Marshalltown and needed a landscaper who really understands retaining walls and drainage. This winter when the snow thawed, we had water in the basement. Two basement experts told us that our basement was leaking due to a grading issue that would likely take thousands in landscaping to rectify. However, this didn't make sense to me because the problem just recently started. Patrick traveled over from Ames to assess our problem. He suspected that it was an issue with a clogged underground downspout drain which was an easy fix. Months later after several rainy days, not a drop of water in our basement! We were out of town for the winter when he came over, so it would have been really easy for him to take advantage of the situation and try to sell us a landscaping job for thousands. He sent us a thorough explanation by Email and talked to me on the phone as well. He is very honest and he has a lot of expertise. He told me I didn't need to pay him for the visit, but I insisted on sending him a check for the consultation. Highly recommended!

Have been with them 10+ years and I can't recommend them highly enough. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING. I have had them in my basement at 8 pm after the office closed to make sure the problem wasn't in the house. I purchased a router from them that was having issues 2 years after purchase and they exchanged it no questions asked. They also set up the router so you can just go home and plug it in.
One of my favorite things about It Takes Two Cleaning Services is they provide their own cleaning supplies! Their pricing is reasonable/affordable. Hazel was so nice and friendly to talk to. Living out in the country makes it harder to keep a shiny white house but once they left it looked brand new again! They did a great job getting all the white walls/windows/baseboards looking new again! They also did a great job cleaning the inside of kitchen appliances and getting the iron off of our tub. Definitely looking forward to our next cleaning service with them.

I was really happy with my experience at Bella, the staff is really friendly, I called because I was arriving a few minutes late and they were so understanding and nice about it, I booked an appointment with Jade, she was really nice, and she made me feel super comfortable, she made sure I was ok with how much hair she was cutting and it was perfect, came in with a couple of different ideas of what I wanted and left it up to her to decide how she wanted to do it, but she left my hair better than I could have ever imagined it, absolutely amazing, she gave me advice about styling it and even curled my hair after everything was done and I loved it. I was and am super super happy with it, special thank you to Jade, you did an amazing job, you are the best. I would recommend you go see Jade for a great haircut and style.

My son got a skin fade into a faux-hawk with line on the side from Arturo. A great haircut and experience for him. When we were walking out he said he definitely wants to come back. For context, he's not usually a fan of getting his hair cut. Only quirk was paying with cashapp/venmo. It'd be nice if they had a square so that you could pay by card as well.
Had an appointment today, got to the salon, and the answer I got is, the person who should cut your hair today didn’t show up. No compensation or anything, i have to wait till next week.?

I just dropped in because my press-on nail popped off. I just figured they would just glue it back on and call it a day. Nope! The nice gentleman who helped me, filed and buffed my nail, as well as filed the back of the press on to ensure that it would stay. He was very, very gentle too. And the best part? It only cost me $5. And he refused to let me tip him. The nail salon is right next to Salvation Army on Duff, the facility is clean, well decorated, and very spa-like. I couldnt be happier with my service. I will be back!

After struggling for close to a week to get other plumbers to come check out my water heater, Benjamin Franklin got a technician to my house in under an hour after calling. Chris and Josh went above and beyond service expectations and replaced my water heater in just a couple of hours. The pricing was fair, any the technicians were friendly. If I could give six out of five stars, I would. We are repeat customers because they have never let us down. Recently our hot water heater was leaking and I called just to leave a message (on a Sunday). The owner calls back and lines it up for the next morning!! My wife is in chemo and they masked up and donned booties...in and out quickly and the only person home was our 11-year old son. These guys are like family to us.

My Ames family member had a medical emergency and no one we knew lived nearby or had a key to their home. This family member was likely going to be in the hospital awhile and they had a cat. So it was imperative to get in to rescue the cat. Reid took my call patiently and calmly, then met the person who would caretake the cat at the house. Cat rescued! And then he kindly dropped off a spare key for safekeeping nearby.

I've spent hours calling different companies trying to schedule a specific service for my home. The companies I called who didn't perform this service simply sent me on my way with a "good luck!" I called Jet Drain based on their good reviews. When I found out that they didnt perform the service I needed, I was prepared for them to just hang up.However the owner who answered my call spent a good amount of time providing names and numbers of companies that would be able to help me. He didn't have to do that, as I wasn't his customer, but he took time out of his day to help and he was kind and friendly while doing so. I was so impressed with his kindness that I felt I needed to leave this review. Thanks again!
Our AC unit stopped cooling around 7:00 pm. I called Converse Conditioned Air and left a voice message that I needed to schedule for AC service the next day. The scheduler called me at 7:15 am the next morning and said we were on their service list for today adn they estimated arriving to our home close to 12:30 pm. The field technican arrived fifteen minutes earily (5 stars) and repaired our AC unit.

I cannot recommend this place enough. I've been to lots of dentists in my life (and never had a bad experience at one) but this place puts all the others to shame. It's literally night and day. The hygienists and doctors are excellent. Equipment is modern. They actually look at your history and provide personalized advice. Seriously, there is no reason to go anywhere else. My hygienist was Megan and she was absolutely fantastic.

This is my favorite chiropractic location in Ames! The doctor is very friendly and welcoming. I love how there is only one doctor so you have a very good doctor- patient relationship. Another thing I love is DC. Gunderson is very good at making sure you understand everything that is going on:) I went in with hip problems and he was able to fix my situation within the week! I 100% recommend here rather than any other place in Ames.
Dr. Michael is amazing! He didn't use a lot of mumbo jumbo terms that only doctors understand... he explained everything so well... used a diagram and his "prop" of a spine helped me and my daughter noy only understand where her problem areas where but how they effect our every day lifes. He explained how he would help not just fix the probelm but how and why. He listened to what was wrong and approached it as a professional. Made us feel very comfortable. If your looking for a great chiropractor... he's your guy!

I can’t say enough about Dr. Brandon Weyhing. He diagnosed our beloved kitty with a terminal condition and was so patient, kind and compassionate through the process of helping her cross the rainbow bridge. He explained everything so we would know what to expect, as this was the first time our family had gone through this. He is patient and gentle and it is obvious how much he truly cares about his patients and their families.
I've been taking my 2 cats to Somerset Vet on a consistent basis ever since we moved to the area in 2021. The staff are always patient and caring with my shy babies, and they consistently provide excellent service, answering all of my questions. Their hours of operation (open until 10 pm CST!) and cleanliness standards are great, too.
Attended an hour long relax and recover class taught by Abra. She customized this private group class for my bachelorette party and truly invested her time in preparing an experience that was enjoyable for all experience levels. Highly recommend Ruthann! I have been going in person for individual trauma therapy yoga since March 2023. The changes I have experienced with simply learning how to breath have been amazing, and the various breathing techniques have been helpful tools for my healing journey. I started at Avenues for health as a birthday gift in March of 2024 from my husband with Ashley. I just had my 2nd massage yesterday with Tiara who also is amazing I am looking forward to my next booking in 4 weeks! I like that I can book my massage on the weekend. My Life is very busy and finding the time for me throughout the week is a struggle. I enjoy being able to slow down on the weekend and have some me time. Getting a massage from an educated therapist who listened to my needs and developed a plan to help release my aches and pains was much needed!
I’ve been suffering post 2 cervical neck surgeries since 12-16-22 and 6-23-23 and cannot progress. I found Danielle and saw deep tissue and cupping and thought I’d give her a try. She is wonderful and not afraid to dive in and help. Strong hands and bold personality makes for strong therapeutic work. I’m glad I found her. I did not see Cassandra for chiropractic work (although I sometimes get that done too); I saw her only for deep tissue massage (90 minutes). First let me say that I've had over 100 massages with over 30 different practitioners over the past 20 years (in California mostly, but in various other states as well) and request deep tissue work every time. I've only had 3 masseuses in Ames so far, but Cassandra was clearly outstanding (I gave my two other masseuses here 2/5 stars). Not only was she experienced and skilled, she actively applied her knowledge to great effect during the massage - paying attention, investigating, and reacting. Cassandra used superior hand/finger techniques and I don't remember her ever using her elbows (which is a shortcut most masseuses resort to, but which is avoided by the "top 2%" of masseuses). If you are in Ames definitely look her up! I saw her in August of 2015; she was working at Family Chiropractic and Wellness at 2629 University Blvd, although she had just moved there recently.

Then when I came in for my appointment she started the appointment with a full game plan of how to achieve it, and explain how to take care of it to make sure to keep the color and health of my hair. She did an amazing job and I am so in love with my new hair! ❤️❤️❤️

Katie is a phenomenal massage therapist with a true gift. I experienced the hot stone treatment for the first time, and it was wonderful. I highly recommend Katie if deep pressure is needed, although she will adjust according to your needs. She is very professional and intuitive.
