“A patron of wax & lazer hair removal services since 2012 - still have to wax for maintenance due to hormonal changes. Even started self-waxing in 2016. Based on Yelp reviews, I went to Kathy. Since Valentines 2021 -- now over a year she's the only professional I go to for waxing and recommend to all my female compadres. - Affordable prices, half price than other salons and quick, efficient & comfortable experience for my usual 10 minute session total in and out for a braz wax. - Communication by text gets back to you within the hour for appointments on a working day (Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat) sometimes even on days off... - Schedule 1-2weeks advance because she books fast and usually full on Sat with no wait list. (She's closed Sun, Mon, Wed) as of Aug 2022. - Service is clean and strict on time since a full braz wax session you can be in and out in 10 minute tops... I'm in, bottoms off, laying down, she comes in, we talk two sentences & already I'm bare and getting dressed, pay cash and go so she can start next appt... I make appts via text but you can make appts there if there is time before her next appt. She's quick, efficient & friendly convo. Down to earth and fun to talk about culture, food, music, etc. - Location is a curb side store front, can't miss. - Parking options infront are 4 street meters or the adjacent street has parking on both sides by the gas station.“

“DEIJA IS AN ABSOLUTE QUEEN! After moving to the island, it was nerve wracking looking for a new eyebrow person. I'm very particular with my brows, as I've had people mess up in the past, so looking for someone with great technique and knowledge was what I was hoping to find. It really plumped up and lightened my skin and I just can't wait to go back for a possible microneedling sesh! “After 3 years of not living on the island I can honestly say I MISS LILLIAN'S SERVICES! I didn't realize how good I had it. Lillian was the first person to suggest I try sugaring and I was instantly hooked. I didn't realize until afterwards that it was because of the quality of her service and not the service itself. I would walk in looking like a woolly mammoth and walk out feeling like a newborn dolphin. In the 3 years since I've left the island, I've been to 4 different salons for sugaring services and none have me leaving as clean and hair-free as Lillian did. “Ive come to Paradise Waxing Spa a few times now. Firstly was because of convenience since its across the street from my office. So its best to call/text.Same day appointments are difficult as you cant just walk in and she is usually booked out.Kathy is a one woman show. Her studio is clean and inviting. She offers the best quality services and her prices are outstanding.I wont list prices here since they are always subject to change. Though, I can tell you that her pricing is competitive. The care that she takes to ensure you are satisfied with your services is remarkable. I have only gotten waxed by her, but I refuse to go anywhere else unless she just isnt available. “Came in as a walk-in customer and Helen immediately welcomed me. Long-story-short, I got a gel mani + pedi and my nails have never looked better. Helen is an absolute pro and she went at my beaten up kitchen hands and feet and made them look so lovely. Wish I lived in Honolulu because she’d be my go-to gal, no doubt. Great spot!“

“I am soooo happy I finally picked up the phone and made my appointment! I think I was a little afraid of the unknown.I was given pre op calls with clear instructions and directions for parking near the facility. Staff always asked if I had any questions.My ultrasound showed me how huge some of my veins were on the medial aspect of my knee. For years I had been avoiding skorts and shorts because I was embarrassed. Now I'm buying new, cute things to wear and no shame about my knee area.Follow up showed everything's fine at 6 weeks and there'll be another in a year. I feel well taken care of.Bonus: Dr. Chung is an interesting conversationalist. He can talk about a wide range of subjects while doing the procedure.“

“Giving Lena a review because it looks like no one has done so since pre-pandemic. I went to Lena in September to get my eyebrows tattooed. I was super hesitant because I saw my mom do it in the 1990s and she had an allergic reaction and looked horrible for a week. Anyway, I'm getting to the point in my life where my appearance is still important to me, but I just want to look good without putting in too much effort. Yes, I am lazy. Anyhoo Lena was quick to respond to my email inquiry about what type of brow service I should do. I was initially thinking microblading because it is less permanent and seems to be popular these days, however after consultation Lena suggested getting my eyebrows tattooed. I have sparse non-existent eyebrows. I looked totally different with makeup and without makeup, mainly because I had no eyebrows. I would go to yoga work up a sweat and come out looking like a totally different person because my brows would melt off. After getting my brows tattooed, my husband says it looks like I have makeup on all the time, that's how much of a difference it has made. Like he thought I was hot before, but now I'm even hotter because I have nice eyebrows all the time. Lena did a fabulous job. My eyebrows are symmetrical and perfectly proportioned. The process took about 1.5 hours and I felt very little pain. I went back a month later and she touched up my eyebrows to make sure they were settling in well. Highly recommend Lena! Go get your eyebrows done by her, she's truly a professional at the top of her game.“

“I have not jumped on Yelp to do a review in a very long time...but, my ongoing experience with Elliemay has convinced me out of the woodworks. First off, I cannot adequately express in words (but obviously I'm gonna attempt to do so anyway hehe) how much of a pleasure and a relief it is to work with Elliemay! She is very professional yet personable, so genuinely caring and considerate, honest and REAL yet very respectful, sometimes sassy yet always so classy--and she's also hilarious!! She always knows something about everything it seems like, so you never run out of things to talk about. But, if you prefer silence, or music--or even sleep lol--she accommodates your preferences no problem. Yes, obviously she is a business woman, but I've found that that does not stop her from being a decent human being first and foremost. This woman has a heart of gold. I've been the recipient of so much of her goodness. You can most surely expect the same. For real. (Example: it's REALLY hard to get her to take a damn tip! Try it for yourself and see if you get lucky by chance haha) First off, if you're serious about PERMANENT hair removal (not permanent hair REDUCTION like laser hair removal), then you need to understand that it does take time. The time that it takes will vary depending upon the targeted area of the body as well as your genetics (i.e. male/female, hair density/thickness, etc.). So, again, don't go into this expecting it to be a quick hair removal process. Each hair is removed one by one by Elliemay herself, and she's got to remove probably millions of them. This is some seriously tedious work. If you're in a rush to get hair removed, then you'll probably have to take your chances with lasering...which, from personal experience, was honestly not the healthiest way to go about it. So, do know that in the beginning, it's gonna be necessary to spend at LEAST 1-3 hours per session, sometimes longer at first. But as the sessions progress and the hair density begins to lessen, the time per session is gonna begin to drop to where it doesn't even take an hour anymore to clear out any new cycles of hair that have come through since your last session. To sum up the last paragraph, electrolysis takes TIME. And so it therefore takes DEDICATION. Why the emphasis on dedication you ask? Because: 1) you'll be able to get it done in the shortest time possible (YESSSS!!), and, 2) your hairs grow in cycles--kinda like sharks teeth if you are familiar with how those grow in--rows and rows of hairs that come in one after the other. So in order to catch every hair cycle, you have to go in for your appointments consistently so you don't miss any cycles of hairs! Cause if you do miss a hair cycle, you'll have to wait weeks and even months depending on what area of the body we're talking about before that same cycle resurfaces again for you to then get it out! So--DEDICATION IS KEY AS WELL! Trust me, this is something that I struggled with hahaha. Okay, let's talk about PAIN. It all comes down to your own individual pain tolerance. But let me say that lasering was far more painful! I would take electrolysis over lasering any day! Seriously. For me, this pain is totally doable. I fall asleep all the time haha. Especially considering Elliemay has got the latest technology on the global market! Manufactured out of Canada I believe. It looks so high tech and well made. And she has consistent, routine maintenance done. So I do believe that the tolerance of the pain comes down to mainly the new machine she uses. Let's talk about...her space. It's immaculate! Cleaner than clean for real. I don't know if you'll ever be in a cleaner space. Elliemay does business out of her own private space located at the new area in Kakaako! There is parking in the garage, which Q Laser will validate for you (if the parking attendant tells you to pay after you get the validation, make sure you threaten to call Q Laser on them )“

“I have had great experiences here! My husband is in the military so we move a lot and every time we move I have to find a new medspa.
