“Recently, I had a little emergency at the end of day on a Friday with my HVAC System to a home I own.

As it was afterhours, by the time I was able to get to the property and see if there was anything I could do about it myself, I had to resort to calling several local HVAC Repair companies in hopes I would be able to find one that could see about the problem right away due to the climbing temperatures.

I was able to secure three companies to schedule me in pretty quickly, but most other companies were already booked through the weekend till the following week.

One company was able to come out Friday close to midnight and by the time they were gone, I was staring at a $12K+ estimate which they informed me would be given a discount down to $10,700.00 to replace everything.

With the unexpected sticker shock, I decided to wait till Saturday morning and secured the second opinion from another company I was able to schedule.

A similar situation occurred and at the end of that visit the price tag was between $7K - $9k.

Because the third company had already been scheduled for later in the afternoon Saturday, I waited and secured the third opinion.

At the end of this visit, the technician informed me that the system’s mother board was fried and due to the age no longer made thus I would have to resort to replacing the system unless I could find the board. This company’s technician at least made no attempt to sell me a new system.

By this time, I had brought in a portable dehumidifier and AC thus the temperature was coming down and I decided to hold off till Monday to contact Seabreeze. In the interim I thought I would research the motherboard myself.

By this time, you must be asking why I did not call Seabreeze first.

The reason for this is that Seabreeze is not open on weekends as they place emphasis on family, and they are a small family owned business.

By the time Monday came, I had found the motherboard on Ebay and it was already on its way.

Monday afternoon Seabreeze Air Conditioning showed to the property and informed me that a short on the outside heat pump had fried the motherboard and unless it could be found somewhere the system would need to be replaced.  David the owner offered several options, I could replace the system or simply replace the shorted part and get the unit running in temp fashion by bypassing the mother board while he looked for one in hopes of finding it.

At this point I informed him that I had already researched, found and purchased the board which was on its way.

I then chose to have Seabreeze Air Conditioning fix the shorted part on the heat pump and rewire the system to bypass the mother board in temp fashion so that the system could run.

In short, this event went from a completely unexpected potential expenditure in the thousands, - to a few hundred dollars which were actually less than what I paid the three other companies total for their visits and opinions.

Since residing in Spring Hill and over the years, I have dealt with many HVAC companies, good/bad and all mostly on the expensive side.

I came across Seabreeze Air Conditioning & Heating of Spring Hill because my eldest son mentioned them to me.

The owner of the company was at the time, also his teacher at Central High School, teaching kids his trade. This alone speaks volumes regarding this small family owed business.

I have been using them now for several years and every single time I have used them they have been great. I cannot over emphasize the level of honesty, care and diligence this company delivers.

The only issue is having to resort to other companies because of a weekend emergency.

“Our air conditioner stopped working last night and, we were so scared that we were going to be spending the holiday weekend either in a hotel or in the Florida heat. But, after a late call into Butler's a technician came out. I just want to say it was 10:30 at night we he arrived and, around 11:30 when he was done. Not only was he able to quickly find and, fix the problem-he was so polite, professional and, helpful. I would recommend them to anyone and, they have made a lifelong customer out of us.“
