“I am happy with the results, with the initial process of getting an estimate and with the workmanship.

My biggest criticism in the scheduling. I got my initial estimate in a very timely and professional way. I made my payment and then never heard from anyone until I was called the night before to say they were showing up. No one every called me or asked when a good time would be, just "here's when we're coming." Of course, that time didn't work and then we went back and forth with me being the dark about when they would come again. Then I got a call asking if I could change my schedule to the next day. I said "fine" and they said I would get an email with the exact time. Email never came. I finally called at 11:45 and asked when they were coming and I was told 1:00 PM. At 2:00 PM I called (having heard nothing) and was told they were running late and would show up at 2:30. They finally showed up a little after 3:00 and were done by 5:00.

So, like I said, the whole scheduling thing is just a mess. They need to work on that. Melissa in the office was very helpful and I believe it's the system and the process for scheduling - not her.

I would use them again, but keep in mind that you will be frustrated with the scheduling and will need to be proactive.“

“I had a water main leak on the outside of my home, which permeated the concrete block wall and soaked the interior dry wall, carpet and baseboards. Time Machine was out to my house in a matter of minutes when I called them to assess the situation. Their remediation crew was there shortly thereafter. They complete resolved the situation, setup state-of-the-art equipment, sealed off the room and came back every day until the room was dry. Really fantastic service.“

They have Ricky Jackson, the Godfather of Pools, on the team and he has forgotten more than most people know about pools. Ricky is incredible and really goes the extra mile. I called him on a Friday night and he talked me through a quick fix until he could get there with the replacement part. This is a company whose people care.“

“I had a hard time finding someone both qualified and willing to do build-back work (furring strips, vapor barrier, drywall and texture) following mold remediation in my living room. The Handyman Company was very responsive so I went with them. They scheduled someone to come out to start the job within a couple of days of me accepting the proposal.

Patrick worked full days and did a lot of work to put everything back so you could barely tell the walls had been cut out and gutted. He kept everything very clean throughout the process. I recommend Patrick.

I attached a photo of a portion of the finished job. (Priming and painting wasn’t in the scope of work. I’m doing that myself.)

The only complaint I have is the person who quoted the job (not Patrick) under-quoted materials by a lot. The actual materials I was billed for were more than double the estimate, but I looked at the receipts and the overages were bad estimating, not bad purchases.

Edit: Within a few days of job completion several of the drywall seams cracked. I called The Handyman Company for a warranty claim. They sent Patrick back out to fix it. I asked Patrick to remove the mesh tape that he used on those seams and replace it with the paper tape that I already had. He said that was too much work and he wasn't going to do that. Instead he caulked the cracks, which I'm not pleased with.“
