“I had an unusual problem with a main drain pipe in my condo that kept getting clogged. I had snaked it 3 times myself, but the last time the snaked it, the snake got stuck in the pipe. There happened to be another plumber working on another unit, that came over to get the snake out. But they were here like two minutes and broke the snake off in the pipe. I thought that can't be good, but they said that is what they would have done anyway. They put the sink drain back together, tested if was draining (which it was), charged me $90 (a discounted rate) and left. About a week later, the drain was clogged again. So this time I called Advantage Plumbing. Two gentlemen came out, and I explained the problem about the clog, and the snake being stuck, and about how the plumbing drain was connected in the condo (having seen it during renovations). The problem was that to access the main drain and vent, you had to crawl in a small opening in the wall, and my access area was covered with and old board with stripped screws. I told them that I had intended on replacing that board myself, but had not done it yet. They realized that this going to be a much bigger job than originally expected, and asked if I wanted to replace the board myself and just send them pictures so they could send me an estimate. They didn't charge me for the visit and sent me a very reasonable estimate to fix the problem. A different crew came out the next time, and they were great too. They cut a section of the cast iron pipe, pulled out the stuck snake, and used there heavy duty snake to unclog and really bad clog in the old cast iron pipe. They replaced the cast iron pipe they removed, with a new PVC pipe, and they added a clean out valve in case it ever needed to snaked again. Would definitely recommend them.“
