I was hesitant to join at first for the price--but I credit my entire membership to Anna at the front desk. I joined about six months ago when I was having a really terrible day and Anna was welcoming, kind, and has been every day since. Going to the gym feels like a great community event when I go. The workouts are challenging but it's a nice mixed bag of tasks each week. Jamie, Mike and Andrew are the coaches I sign up for the most. They're energetic, quick to offer alternative workouts for injuries, and ensure my form is correct. Hands down the best gym I've ever joined.

Several instances where parking wasn't validating correctly causing the consumer to pay 8-12 dollars a season. When I reached out to the front desk their solution was for me to call the parking company to resolve. I wasn't asking for money back, just that it get fixed. She Shared they tried with no luck. How should this issue be a consumer issue? This location continues to be poorly managed which makes me sad since it was a good several years back. Looking to leave.

I've been frequenting this gym a few time a week for about 4 -5 months. I have mixed feelings. Here's the pros/cons from my perspective. 1. The gym is clean, classes start on time and the equipment is good. 2. The Eastern Market gym space is terrible. It is L-shaped and rotations can be a cluster with people trying to get from one area to another. I've been to the another studio which was a rectangle all the gear in is three rows - a much better flow. 3. The workouts are effective but can get monotonous. Two-thirds of the time is spent on the erg and tread. The challenge here is you never know what type of workout it will be which is super annoying if you are doing other fitness activities. You will never be able to plan accordingly. Then all lift classes (no barbell) are at awkward times or are waitlisted to the point that you would need to book at least a month out (if you are lucky) 4. The price point works if you do unlimited and workout 4-5 times a week which will be roughly ~$14/session. Singles and 10-packs imo are not worth it. 5. The trainers are a mixed bag. This is not a learning gym, if you are newbie or getting into it after a long time you will not get the teaching support you need for your form (to prevent injury). You get little to no feedback and the trainers are more like monitors/supervisors. I see people doing some very dangerous move with weights and don't see the trainers intervening. E.g. doing squats/deadlifts with their back, leaning back on one foot for bicep curl, planks with hips/butt in the air almost like downward dog, etc - it's kind of scary. Here's my rating of the trainers:1. Jamie/Brianne - are the best and behave like actual trainers. They move around the room non-stop person by person and give good feedback. 2. Tara - she just shouts. 3. Sterling - she's usually dancing by the pillar in the center of the room. She did give me feedback one time though. I've also have never heard person use the word "that" so frequently, like before every noun.4. Ish - he has never acknowledged my presence. 5. Mike - he's really focused on the ladies. 6, Trisha - she didn't acknowledge my presence. My main reason for going here is for the treadmill and ergometer because I hate doing those outdoors due to DC weather. I also have allergies so i prefer working out indoors. P.S, They should fire the branding firm who came up with the idea of "splat" points.
