We honestly weren't sure if we were equipped to keep him since we didn't have any experience training a dog with fearful/aggressive behaviors, but we decided to meet with a trainer.<br><br>Vanessa was really clear and straightforward with us from the start about what we could expect from training. She's been an amazing teacher-- we've learned a ton about what causes his reactivity, how to read his body language, how to keep him and others safe, and of course how to train better behaviors into him.<br><br>Our dog has made a TON of progress, and we were recently able to step down from weekly to monthly sessions. We can take him on hikes and walks comfortably, and he's getting more and more comfortable seeing other dogs around.
