I have been a patron of Rock's since 1994. I've purchased my current violin from him, and my grandmother bought the bow I currently use from his shop when I was still a young girl. Rock and his partner, Evan, have cared for my instruments for my entire career and I trust no one else. If you are looking for a new stringed instrument, a tune up, or repair (complex or simple), this is the luthier for you.

This is such a nice, pleasant shop. It’s in a beautiful old Victorian home, complete with stained glass windows and antique furniture. It has two comfortable private practice rooms where I stayed for several hours trying different instruments. Rock has many, many violins for sale to choose from. I played at least ten in my price range. His assistant, David, tuned each one for me and even demonstrated my final several choices for me since his skill level is far beyond my own. A very pleasant no-pressure environment. I will be buying my advanced level instrument there, upgrading from my student model.
