5 stars for care, 1 star for business practicesMy pet has received care from Palomar over the past 3 or so years, most recently 8 months ago. They always do a great job; I loved the doctors and the care received. It was great! However now I need his yearly vaccination booster. I call for a quote on the vaccine and was told it was $72. But, "because it's a diferent vaccine manufacturer" they have to re-examine the pet before they can administer it. Add another $160. Now we are up to $232 for a simple vaccination. Umm.. no thanks. This seems like a simple money grab for something he's already had, no matter who the manufacturer is.

Extremely competent and compassionate staff! We moved from the Bay Area where we had a vet we absolutely loved, so I wasn’t confident I would find a vet that could meet my expectations here in North County. However, I have been very happy with the level of service, responsiveness, and compassion we have received taking our 2 senior dogs to PAH.Dr. Knox is thorough, responsive, kind, and knowledgeable. The front desk and vet tech staff are always great at responding to emails, returning calls, and being caring and kind! The prices are also affordable compared to other vets in the area for exams and diagnostics.

Our dog Sammy had a swollen lump in his throat. Dr. Knox and staff carefully examined him and took lab samples. Dr. Knox called back promptly with results and advice. The staff's care and response from Palomar Animal Hospital was much appreciated. Sammy recovered quickly!
