“Dave & Roger and their crew did an amazing job. It's been a little over a year since he and his crew completely transformed our huge corner lot front and side yard of dead turf surrounded by a 30 - 40 year old privet hedge that had been improperly maintained for over a decade. Our yard is now a gorgeous, colorful, thriving, perennial garden oasis of meandering pathways. We did not want to lose the hedge due to the privacy it provides but it was horrendous looking and seemed beyond hope with mostly bare dead branches and being taken over by ivy. Dave's crew cut the entire hedge down to almost nothing leaving a single bare trunk for each tree/ shrub and with a new drip system installed, it has grown back & filled in better than we ever thought possible. It was a major part of the job and they did an amazing job renovating our hedge. Dave is very knowledgable about plants and their growth habits and how they will look once mature and which plants will grow best in any given section of the yard based on sun exposure. After he was done, he walked us through the entire yard and told us the botanical name of each & every plant and described how it would grow and what color flowers it would have. We spend a lot of time in our garden now with our dogs and they love it as much as we do. Dave installed a simple wire fence- 4 ft high that is hidden by the hedge and safely contains the dogs in our yard so they can meander & frolic chasing faeries, butterflies & bees. We had interviewed about 6 other companies and love how the yard turned out. I do need to mention the reason I docked 1 star: we didn't like the attitude and being scolded for doing things in our own garden without asking for Dave's permission. We found ourselves asking, "Should we ask Dave first" or "Do you think Dave will get mad?" LOL! There's far worse things that one could complain about besides having a knowledgable landscaper who puts his whole heart & soul into each job so if we had known that about him before hiring him, we'd definitely choose him for the job.“

“Brian and Noe did a masterful job on both our front and back yards! The end product was more beautiful and more serene than we ever could have imagined. We’ve gone from never using our backyard to using it daily. Our front yard was an eye sore and now it brightens up the entire block - we especially love the gorgeous paver walkway they built which brings us joy each time we use it. Brian’s pricing is slightly higher than others we had contacted but it was well worth it!We had read many reviews about Brian’s “organic” process and though we were a little skeptical, we got the sense that he was very experienced and a true craftsman and decided to go with him, and we're so glad we did. He has a great sense for how to design a space, balancing form and function. His experience also allows him to bring a calm and a confidence in his ideas, which he used to skillfully guide the process. There were a couple times where we had wanted to interject a point of view that would have resulted in a less nice end product, and Brian was great at hearing us out, but also gently guiding us in a better direction.Finally, here are a few of the things we really appreciated:- The ability to weigh in some design choices (e.g. pavers, turf, etc), but those choices being limited so that we were choosing between better and best- The flexibility that the “organic” process allows for (we went back and forth on the backyard water feature and in the end decided to go with it + we added add’l lighting that wasn’t in the original proposal)- The speed with which he and Noe completed the work - the whole thing was done in < 6 weeks- The handover walk through and accompanying plant map and instructions, which gave us some pride of ownership- Brian’s responsiveness to our follow up questions after the job was completed“

“For a long time, I wanted to have a professionally landscaped backyard garden to serve as a special retreat for me. I finally decided on Madrono Landscape Design, and the owner, Geoffrey Coffey was very helpful in laying out a landscape that reflected the type of garden I had envisioned, sort of a "controlled jungle". I didn't cut corners finance wise, but I am very happy with the results. Geoff suggested various flowers and shrubs, plus incorporating what plants I did have already into the new design, including a drip irrigation system. Now I just have to wait for the shrubs and vines to grow to maturity to get the garden that I've always wanted.“

“We needed a new deck so I had three deck companies come and give bids. All had good reviews on Yelp. All three had similar opinions on what would work, what we should avoid, and other considerations when it comes to how much we wanted to spend. In the end, all three bids had similar parameters, but Arrow came with the best price. Also, they could start quickly, within 2 weeks, while the other two wanted two months to start. The job took less than three weeks and it looks great. If I saw something I wanted to change, they did it immediately without any pushback. Within five weeks from the day I met Gary, I had a nice big brand new deck. Gary and I would text or call each other whenever he or I had a question. He was very responsive. Great service. During the final touches I was so impressed I asked Gary to give me a bid for a new set of stairs on the side of the house. “This is the coolest secret hangout in Mill Valley. Such a special place to pop in and chill, or bring a friend and enjoy a cup of tea and a game. Not only are there several really cool chill spaces, there seems to be an endless supply of tea and sometimes cookies that just magically appear. The art installations are top notch. What a unique find and creative idea, we are so lucky to have a place like this. It's kinda hard to explain, so just go check it out for yourself and you'll see what I mean.“

“My garden was overgrown with weeds and really needed help. I interviewed 4 different landscaping companies and Bill had the best quote for the big job needed. He completely landscaped my garden according to my vision of having a sort of French country garden. He installed a drip irrigation system that continues to save water use several years hence. He also provides monthly upkeep and is always responsive to my phone calls. I don't know what happened with the prior customer review, but I know from my personal experience with Bill that he would give an honest response regarding feasibility of landscaping a garden for a reasonable cost. I wouldn't use anyone else as he has proven himself trustworthy over the three years he has worked on the upkeep of his design. I love driving up to my home and seeing the beautiful, lush garden surrounding it. It makes such a difference!“

“We have worked with Zach and the team at G on two hardscape projects over the last five years. In both, we basically had the design vision, and Zach helped us refine it and execute on it. We are very pleased with the result of the projects, both of which have made our home more comfortable and enabled us to realize indoor-outdoor living. The projects included large poured concrete pads for the front walk, laying of prefabricated concrete pavers on the sideyard and back, a pergola and deck, and lighting, drainage, and the main irrigation lines throughout.Zach was very responsive, and his team leads knew their stuff and were very friendly easy to work with. The pavers on the side- and back-yard took longer than Zach had initially planned for, in part because this was a product his team had never worked with. “I stopped by this beautiful nursery while driving to Marin County. The scale and variety of plants was astounding. Avocados, citrus, succulents, and palm trees. The manager Kyle explained how every plant there is special -large, healthy, and rare plants!“
