I highly recommend South Pasadena Optometric Group. The entire staff is extremely welcoming and did a fantastic job at making me feel as comfortable as possible. During my visit, I first met with Eddie who did my pre exams. Someone give this guy a raise because he did a great job at anticipating my needs and concerns. Also, Dr. Tsai was absolutely wonderful. Just like Eddie, she made the entire exam/visit a great one. Throughout the exam, she made sure I was never uncomfortable and always kept a fun and delightful conversation going, not to mention how spot on she was able to get my prescription (which is not an easy task for those of us with Keratoconus). I was recommended by a friend to try out South Pasadena Optometric Group (I live in Ontario; super far) and it is definitely worth the drive!
I've been a patient of Dr. Harris' for a long time and just realized I've never left a review. He is one of the best optometrists around. He is old school and takes his time with you and treats you as a patient and not a number. He will answer all your questions, he will tell you what tests you may need, and also has a network with which to refer out if your eye condition warrants it. I consider his office a boutique style, it is smaller, but you get quality eye wear (contacts and/or glasses) and quality treatment. He also takes VSP insurance which is great since I don't have employer-paid optometry insurance.
I have been a patient of Dr. Harris' for a very long time. I have never encountered a better optometrist (and I've been to at least 5) or, for that matter, a better doctor over all. He is experienced and knowledgeable, and he shares his knowledge gladly. He is thorough, thoughtful and clear and gives me options and his recommendation. I appreciate this approach so much. He is so professional and friendly. We moved away from Pasadena and I've continued to come into his office for services for almost 15 years now. It's time to change, next year and begin with someone closer to home, and I dread that. I don't know who I am going to find that I trust and like as much as Dr. Harris.
