“I have been training with Charles twice a week for 18 months--the results have been extraordinary- a total body transformation. I initially had debilitating back pain and had tried everything from patches and shots to spinal decompression with no relief. Within months of working with Charles, the pain was completely gone. His wide breadth of knowledge on all things fitness is remarkable. I have leg strength for the first time in my life and I am in the best shape of my life. I had never deadlifted a year ago and recently lifted 390 straight bar from the floor. Charles has motivated me get cardio in everyday now, and I truly enjoy each strength training session. I could go on and on- bottom line: priceless training, the highest recommendation!“
“I've been to a few places in the San Carlos area for massages and without a doubt Jaire is the best. He seems to know how to apply just the right amount of pressure and find those knots - he even finds ones you didn't even know you had :) He's also a very calming person so it's just a pleasant experience all around. He's located in a day spa so there a nice massage table and soothing music. And another thing I like, unlike other places I've been to - if you feel like talking, he's very nice to talk to, but if you want an hour of silence, he's good with that too. But, most importantly, you can tell he's very experienced in what he does and he takes his work seriously. Definitely recommend!“
“After nearly a year of attending multiple classes per week with many of the instructors, I have only positive things to say. I found myself wanting to return to the studio daily.
The format of the classes, the energy of the instructors, the sense of community, and the convenient logistics all contribute to creating a virtuous cycle for fitness.
Here are some specific observations:
1. Each instructor brings a unique perspective, and in my experience, they complement each other remarkably well.
2. For Pilates: I've had the opportunity to attend several classes with Samara and Akiko. They run sessions that are accessible for newcomers yet challenging for more experienced participants. Their sequencing, modifications, and ability to read and manage the group's energy make them exceptional instructors.
3. For Yoga: The classes I took followed the Bikram sequence, which is fairly consistent. However, each instructor has their own distinctive style, so you're bound to find one who feels just right for you.
4. Logistics: The studio setup is highly convenient, from parking to restrooms, changing rooms, and lockers. With a wide variety of classes at all hours, finding a convenient session is rarely an issue. The only reason not to attend would be if you simply didn't feel like it--not because of availability or scheduling.
5. The community is outstanding. Both the owners, Samara and Sandy, and fellow students are incredibly supportive and always ready to lend a hand.
6. Pricing is also very reasonable, and the cold towels at the end of classes are a fan favorite!
At one point, I sustained an injury (unrelated to ELC). When I spoke with Sam and Sandy, they encouraged me to come in if I felt up to it, which I did. For several weeks, Sam personally assisted me with weights, mats, and towels (I couldn't carry anything myself), while other students helped with my crutches and kept me connected to my practice. I am deeply grateful--and perhaps a bit biased!“
“I dragged my friend along with me to try their 60 min hot26 asana yoga class! We were rushing as class started at 7am and we wanted to ensure we'd make it before the doors locked. We got there just in time and were welcome by Regina! She gave us a quick rundown of the studio. They have nice lockers with keys, a water fountain and showers available. Class began promptly and it was comfortably full. Regina was a very lively and informative instructor. She gave helpful guidance on how to do the forms in class they were doing as they were slightly varied from what I am used to doing. The poses were comfortable and I could feel myself truly feeling zen through every pose.“
“This place is more than just a yoga studio. It is a retreat in itself. Classes are wonderfully tailored to different styles, so many aspects of yoga are honored and practiced and it's very serene. I always enjoy going“
“It is located on the north east corner of the grocery store. They know there stuff about muscle anatomy and how to maximize stretching!!“
“I attended DanceVibes classes for about a year before moving out of California. DanceVibes gave me confidence, an outlet, new skills, a routine, and community. Jamie's a fun, sassy, and inclusive instructor. Melissa and the guest speakers they had were also great. You can tell how much they love their program by the themed classes they hosted, parade they participated in and how they adapted to COVID/remote classes. Take a class if you can!“
“Quite spacious gym located inside the office building at Tower 2. I recently signed up after leaving my primary gym. I had some must-haves when joining a new gym and this gym met it all. It's super clean, spacious, all the equipment I need. For public access, there are no weekend hours but M-F they're open 5am to 9pm. Bonus, there is also free parking.“
“One of my greatest gifts to myself was signing up at Club Pilates in Redwood City. I had no idea how much I would come to love and appreciate Pilates for the transformation of my body. I feel stronger and notice a more svelte shape. 5 days a week I'm eager to get to class and share in an experience with my fellow classmates knowing we all are their learning to keep our bodies in the best shape possible. I find it so fulfilling and rewarding to put in the time and enjoy results. Come check out Club Pilates in Redwood City and let your transformation begin. Your body will reveal the labor of your effort. Mine has.“
“I only tried the Sunday community yoga and loved it! It was my first class after 4 years of having paused my yoga practice. I’ll be back!“
