“On Sunday, March 17th, my husband and I suffered a break-in in the pre-dawn hours in our condo in Duboce Triangle of San Francisco while we slept through the whole thing, ugh!

A thief crowbarred open our front window after standing on a nearby ledge, and promptly stole my almost-new MacBook Air off my nearby desk because I had left the Bluetooth active overnight, which I know now can be easily tracked through an everyday app. A very unfortunate learning experience, but we were very glad that is all they appear to have taken!

We wanted to reinforce our condo ASAP and found Neza Iron Works through Yelp and Google. I reached out to the number listed on Yelp and it belonged to the very kind owner, Mr. Armando Sánchez, who picked up that Sunday on his own line while at home with his family.

He agreed to meet with us the very next day, and measure the front of our condo for a customized white ironwork grid with requested additional attachments, so no ‘prison-like’ bars in this case. He was very professional, friendly and offered us a very reasonable deal for the work to cover our three large front Victorian windows.

We happily gave him a downpayment and hoped to have the work scheduled ASAP.

Unfortunately, our error was not running this by our HOA first, who were not okay with iron bars installed on the 1st floor of our 3-floor home, despite the breaking of our window facing the sidewalk. But it is what it is!

This was admittedly our error in not seeking their approval for “common area” modifications, but Mr. Armando Sánchez graciously allowed us some time to try to work this out with our HOA. Unfortunately, the HOA put the kibosh on the bars, but Mr. Sánchez in the meantime had began the work customized to our windows, and even graciously offered to store this work for us for some time in case the HOA changed their mind.

Our HOA responsibility and negotiations is our own oversight, but we wanted to HEARTILY recommend Mr. Armando Sánchez and Neza Iron Works for their professionalism, work ethic and honesty.

If we could have gotten our HOA on board with our security solution, we would have eagerly added his professional work to the front of our condo. Mr. Armando Sánchez and Neza Iron Works are a credit to honest and talented workmanship, and if we ever have the opportunity to hire them again, we would do so in a heartbeat. “Something happened--my wife and I suddenly got old. We decided we needed wrought iron railings for the four steps of our home. We asked those we thought knowledgeable as to how much it would cost. Their guesses were $1600.00 under our best price. Because of busy schedule and later Covid, many contractors would not even return our inquiries. We contracted with one individual who never showed up, and was "too busy" in the few times he'd answer the phone. One who actually came out and gave us a solid bid was $1200.00 over what we finally paid.
