“The docs and staff at Vet Vision were exceptionally good with my sometimes anxious dog. The doctors are skilled and personable and are supported by state of the art equipment. This comes at a premium cost, of course. But it’s worrisome when a loved pet develops eye problems. Vet Vision can reliably make it better.“
“Very impressed with Sage. Staff that interacted with my cat and I were super caring and gentle. It's obvious they love animals and what they do.
Dr. Navneet Saini was responsive and spent a good time answeing questions and helping me choose the right plan of diagnosis for our sick cat. Her assistant tech was also wonderful. Wish I had her name to give her a shout out too.
Pricing and text system were clear.
I highly recommend SAGE.“
“We've been taking our cat here for years and they've taken good care of our cat. The recommendations and advice we've received have been pragmatic and sound. When she needed dental surgery, the experience was as good as we could have hoped.“
“The doctor was so loving and caring and the nurses were very kind and knowledgeable, tooo.“
“As always, I appreciate your continued fine attention. Your
care is exemplary and feel fortunate to be in your care.

“Dr. Chase provides the highest level of care specializing in preventative care. She cares for our pet as if it were her own. She has high expectations of her clients, but it's because she cares so much about the animals and wants them to live long, healthy lives.“
“My dog has been in the care of Avenues Pet Hospital for 3 years now. It can sometimes take a while to be seen for non-urgent stuff, such as the very first new client appointment and the annual exam, but otherwise my dog gets seen quite quickly as things come up (usually within a few days, and via email or phone when I have concerns but am not sure if they are worth an appointment). They did not allow people inside for a long while due to Covid safety restrictions, but we can now go inside to wait in the waiting room, and accompany our pets during their appointment. It seems silly for other reviews to complain about this when it was for a valid reason and not an arbitrary policy. The only times I can't accompany my dog is when he comes in for his regular nail trim and gland expression as an out-patient - this is done in the back where pet owners aren't allowed. FYI I get his nails done at the vet bc he has particularly long blood vessels / quicks in his nails, so I feel safer about it being done here, even though it's a roughly-done trim and I file them smooth at home. The vets are kind and I always feel like I'm getting their honest assessment. Front desk is also always very helpful. For reviews that mention they're rude - it can depend on the person tbh, but if anything I think some can be less warm than others, and I would *not* say at all that they've ever been rude. I think they're really busy nonstop and are doing their best to get through patients in an efficient manner -- and that can sometimes be interpreted as being a little cold, when really it's just being neutral. As a society we tend to think women are "cold" when they're not overly warm and are otherwise just being normal & neutral, yet don't think that of men doing the same. So let's check our gender bias, alright? One word of advice that I learned the hard way - most medications are substantially cheaper at Chewy or Costco, so ask them to send out the prescription! The vet office has zero problem doing that and it's never awkward. It's not a perfect system since Costco doesn't have everything, and Chewy takes some days for delivery (i.e., doesn't work for meds needed the same day). I don't say this as a knock against the hospital, as I think this is common practice for vets and helps keep the lights on. I instead say this as a heads up, because I didn't know this for the longest time.“
“This is my vet and they’ve been great for the last year!
My only complaint would be that they won’t give a vaccine without a physical, even if my cat has recently had a physical from them.“
“Can't say enough good things about Presidio Way and their team there - they've always listened patiently and have taken great care of our family's two yorkshire terriers. Even for a routine checkup we never feel rushed and we're given ample time to ask any questions that we have.
Additional bonus - we love that they can do teeth cleaning at the clinic as well. =)“
“They are awesome with my elderly bunny. Explained care options and pricing clearly, communicated well through everything and the support staff is really kind and sweet. Helpful with supporting her arthritis. Very knowledgeable with rabbits. Helped her through GI stasis.
For after-hours emergency care for rabbits when they are not open, I recommend PETS Referral Center across the bridge in Berkeley.
Please do note that rabbits are considered “exotic” pets in general, so pricing can be much higher for some services than for cats or dogs.“
“A safe place to bring your pets. We have trusted Polk St Animal Hospital with our dog for 3 years and they have been good to deal with.“
“Had an appointment snafu, but they accommodated us and checked my doggy out plus some tests and shots. Good bill of health and happy with the service.“
“I took my cockateil in for an injured wing last year. The vet and staff were lovely and professional, they were perfect with my bird,he was well taken care of for what I considered a reasonable price. I highly recommend them“
“This is such a great animal hospital - very helpful and attentive and I feel like the doctors here really listen and care about their clients. 5 stars all the way!!“
“We've been going to S.F. Pet Hospital for more than two decades with four of our dogs plus a foster dog. Everyone is friendly and thorough and takes their time with us. But I'm writing now because yesterday Dr Leyba went above and beyond, and I'm pretty sure he saved our dog's life. River had been at the emergency vet on Fillmore for two days and nights, but he wasn't improving at home once he was released. He was getting much weaker and we were getting desperate. I called the emergency vet to say he was going downhill and ask for a new prescription but they never even called me back ( at all!). Enter S.F. Pet Hospital. Bisma took all our info and got it to Dr Leyba who read through every everything, then trouble shot with me despite his obviously very heavy work load. He was kind and thoughtful and together we came up with a course of action that resulted in a vividly improved dog this morning. Truly - our dog went from alarmingly, dangerously ill to bright eyed and hungry overnight. Without him I have no doubt he'd be back in the hospital right now. Thank God Dr Leyba at SF Pet Hospital stepped up and took over. I should add that he's not even our primary vet there! He's a hero in my book.“
“I went in to get a check up for my dog before an upcoming flight. We saw Dr.Amanda and she was really kind. I didn’t feel rushed and I left with all my questions answered. I would definitely request to see her again if I return for another visit.
On the other hand the front desk lady I talked to was rude. She seems like she doesn’t enjoy her job, which can be off-putting in a stressful circumstance such as the vet.
Overall one of the better vet experiences I have had.“
“I'm not sure why people are so down on this place, other than the emergency vet is quite possibly one of the saddest places in the world. We went on a Sunday afternoon and had a three hour wait. Having also visited the pediatric ER at CPMC on a Sunday, I can tell you that this felt about standard. Our dog was triaged soon after we came in and deemed non-critical, so fair enough, you wait. They have tea and water for the humans, as well as wifi. The waiting area benches allow your pet to rest next to you. We saw Dr Kelly who was pleasant and helpful. FYI, the charges here start at $235 for an exam (as of the date of this review). Trips to the vet are never cheap, and well, it's the emergency vet, so what do folks expect? The facility is clean, the staff all were nice. At least on a Sunday afternoon, parking was not too challenging. Tartine Manufactory across the street provides a good place to grab a coffee or sandwich during your hour of need.“
“Great vet experience. They have phenomenal hours, especially if you work during the day. We’ve been twice since we got our new pup and they have been very caring, thorough, and kind.“
“We've been taking our pets (two cats and a dog) to the SFAMC for awhile. We have always received caring and attentive medical treatment. They have a pharmacy too. Yesterday, I went for a routine check up and vaccinations for our 2 year old pup, and I thought we received superlative help from Dr. MacFarlane who was thorough, efficient, caring, personable and insightful. Just a terrific doctor. The vaccines themself were administered by Jasmine, the Vet tech. She is really gifted! Our little (35lb) guy is pretty nervous about shots, but Jasmine put him at ease, distracted him, and then quickly and painlessly gave him his shots and even more skillfully delivered the oral dose. Really terrific!“
“This vet clinic is amazing! While the parking does stink (it's SF, so that's kind of expected), the service we receive here far outweighs any difficulty in finding a spot. I will always recommend Ocean Ave Vet Hospital to all my doggie friends.“
“I’ve finally found the veterinarians I’ve been searching for. They listen as much as they speak. They are open and provide lots of options. Such a gentle and easy experience to have care take place in our home, and the front office is wonderful in terms of scheduling and paperwork. Rachel and Jaqueline are amazing. So appreciative to have such a great care team for my little ones.“
