“The entire AGC team is incredible. My wife and I did a full gut remodel/rebuild on a 1912 house in San Francisco. We took the entire house down to the studs and then moved and replaced all the studs. To say we were terrified is a complete understatement. We talked to several GC's, and were referred to Aaron Gordon by our architect. He stood out from the start, and there was really no question who we'd go with after meeting with him and running through his process. He broke down and explained every aspect of the project, and priced out the entire thing in advance. And this wasn't a rough ballpark quote like you get from most GCs, it was down to every detail. We were always in the loop on every aspect of the project. We had bi-weekly onsite check ins, and they provided weekly summaries of work completed and what was on the schedule for the coming week. We were never in the dark.Most importantly, I am happy to say now that the project is over, there were no surprises, and they finished on time and on budget (slightly below actually). That's quite an accomplishment considering the scope of work involved. Their quality is top notch, and the entire team is 100% professional. Not to mention they are just genuinely really good people. They would repeatedly go above and beyond what's expected. Just as one example (to which there are many), right when we moved in we tried to start garbage service through Recology and have bins sent to our house. Unfortunately Recology was hacked and their systems were down for weeks. We had nowhere to put our garbage, so the AGC team swung by several weeks in a row to literally pick up our personal garbage, just as a courtesy until we finally got bins sent to us. I could rattle off countless examples, but I just wanted to highlight the level of service they provide. I was flat out impressed at how they conducted themselves both professionally and personally.This whole thing could have been so stressful, but the team ensured it never got to that point. I dare say it was even enjoyable. It was amazing to watch our home transform knowing it was in good hands. I have zero hesitation recommending them to anyone starting a new project. They are as good as it gets, and they will be our go to for all our future needs. So happy we were referred to AGC.“

They completely replaced my shingled roof, changed my rain gutters and changed my vents to copper.Since they have their own metal fabrication capability, they custom designed and replaced my roof vents. “Friends, we just wrapped up a 6 month project with AAA. The pictures are what really does this work justice, but I can say that AAA far exceeded expectations. We did a kitchen/living room remodel which included removing two walls and adding a 16' new sliding door and a new deck. Toward the end of the project we expanded scope to include a new roof and new siding and exterior painting. They seamlessly provided this extra work. We lived in the house during the construction and worked from home while the crew transformed our home. Andrey got us going and Art and Alex were our main contacts during the project. I enjoyed working with Alex. He has the best "no problem" approach and when we hit a design issue with our deck, he had a great idea of how to rework the stairs and we went with that approach. They also recommended a great architect, window company and other items. Every inspection passed. They responded quickly to my concerns. I will definitely have them come back and do our bathrooms. “Elmer and his team spruced up my vintage, quirky apartment with a variety of professional repairs: replacing a clawfoot tub drain & old light dimmer switch, painting and plastering, installing a new garbage disposal, and fixing heavy wooden pocket doors. They were timely and courteous about contacting us with ETAs. And he sent photos as the work progressed. Since we found more issues to repair (all were necessary & overdue), one day of work expanded into 3 so it was a bit more expensive than I planned. He kept things tidy, works fast while ensuring everything is solid and of good quality. His workmanship is impeccable. When we had miscommunications or disagreements, he worked with us to ensure we came to an agreement that worked for both. Doing work on a house is always a terrible experience and finding a good contractor is a tough call. RB will make the whole process as pleasant as it gets. RB was the sub on framing only for half of our remodel and we liked his work so much that we hired him as the GC on the second half of our remodel which involved significant structural and foundational work, as well as all plumbing, electrical and finishes.Services: General construction“

“We hired M&L Construction for our house projects again because they are dependable and do great work. SF experienced lots of rain and strong gusty winds last winter and spring. This affected our house and we needed help to fix some things. I reached out to the company for assistance and got a response back quickly. Mark and Buddy came out to the house, shared their thoughts with us on the repairs and provided us a quote. They are knowledgeable in their field and I trust they can get the job done. We had a lattice replaced with a wall, a window replaced with a wall and fixed leaning fences. The workers are professionals and dedicated to delivering great results. He explained how I can find a contractor to do the work in my area through the EBB website, and explained what type of work needs to be done. He told me what information to give to potential contractors, and also offered to answer any additional questions that I may have later. “Cannot recommend John highly enough! We worked with him to craft an entire wall of custom bookshelves, and we were extremely satisfied with the entire project. When we first reached out, John was very upfront that he was quite busy (understandably so - just look at his portfolio!). Despite that, he worked with us to figure out a timetable that fit our needs. 5/5 for clear, direct communication even before the project began! We chatted on the phone and exchanged emails with some basic information about what we wanted, and then John came out for a site visit. He was friendly, prompt, and professional - he was able to get all his initial measurements in one pass, and we were able to proceed from there. It felt somewhat surreal how smooth the process was. Design, construction, and installation were spread out over approximately six weeks (pretty much exactly the schedule we'd agreed on). Amazingly, 99% of construction happened offsite - John was very conscientious about limiting the project's impact on our living space. If you've never had significant work done on the interior of your home... Congratulations, you're very lucky! And it can be difficult to overstate how disruptive and stressful it can be. Needless to say, we were immensely appreciative of how thoughtful John was about keeping our home a *home*, and not a construction site. The biggest "disruption" we experienced was during installation - which took less than a day. As for the finished product, we couldn't be more pleased. The bookshelves fit into the space beautifully, and add wonderful depth and structure to an otherwise bland wall. (We're planning on painting the shelves in the next few weeks, so I'll circle back once that's done with pictures.) An unabashed 5/5 from us. Thanks, John!“

“Working with neighbors on a budget and contractor for both a 25ft long retaining wall and a fence can turn your hair gray (if it isn't already). Don't get me wrong, I love my neighbors, but this was a 4 year ordeal. Concrete, wood, concrete, wood. Mike (and others) gave me a bid 4 years ago, but the project got put on hold. I reached out to Mike again and got other bids in 2021. WARNING all the other contractors did NOT have workman's comp and were NOT bonded and insured. And yes, they were less expensive. That said, I'm not gonna have workers transporting huge heavy lumber through my garage and working in my yard without the company carrying workman's comp and being insured. I'm not up for a lawsuit if something bad happened. So....we went with Mike. There were some glitches that took place - a little stressful at times with the neighbors, but Mike's work team were great. When we got a little stuck with a misunderstanding about a portion of the job, Mike made sure to make it all right and made my neighbor happy. Nice guy, great team, go for it!“

“Edward is the plumber extraordinaire ! He's super responsible, honest, down to earth & very skillful at his craft . There were some challenging issues w repairing my old Jacuzzi. Other plumbers said the tub had to be lifted out of its base & fixed from underneath at a cost of almost $900! Edward was able to tie the tubing to a bamboo stick & pull it thru to connect it to the motor & it took only a couple minutes and saved me hundreds. He's easy to talk to , the best plumber I've ever had !!!“

“We had an absolutely amazing experience with Kevel, from beginning to end. They gave us a home energy audit, and we moved forward with a project incorporating some modifications to our system. I give them my highest recommendation! 1) Every person we interfaced with was professional, and helpful, and just nice. 2) Project was timely, and everything worked out as expected and promised. The only minor drawback is that they are good at what they do, and popular, so there was a bit of time waiting to initially get our project in their queue. HVAC projects are also somewhat variable -- it's contract work and they are prone to weather changes, etc. so we understood, and the communication was excellent.“
