“We put out bids for a ~$300k back yard project involving excavation, new poured concrete retaining walls, poured concrete stairs, a 650 sq deck and more. We knew that Rempe was likely to come back with the most expensive bid, and indeed they did. We took that bid because we had confidence that they had actually put some real effort and thought into the bid and that this would be the cost for the project, without overages unless we expanded the scope (which we did). It was broken down into fairly atomic pieces with costs attached to each one, showing us that they weren't just throwing a number out and weren't going to come back to us later saying, "Oh, this wasn't in the scope, the cost is going to go up." That's in distinct contrast to the other bids we got, which didn't give us nearly the same level of confidence that they'd thought our project through completely. We're EXTREMELY glad we went with Rempe. Working with them has been a simply fantastic process, from bid through to project completion. The answer to any request has always been "yes" (though of course some requests come with a price tag) and not only are they very detail-oriented but also concerned with trying to work around your life so they're only in the way as much as they need to be. As an example of their concern for detail: We had a couple very large outdoor umbrella bases sunk into the ground with 2'x2'x2' of concrete poured around them. I hate crooked lines, and when we put the umbrellas in after, I could see that one of the umbrellas was a little off. Measuring it, it was off by 0.9 degrees. Our foreman on the project (Dave Rempe, the owner/founder's brother), who is a construction superhero, immediately agreed that wasn't acceptable, jackhammered the base out, re-leveled it, and then repoured the concrete. Not only that, but he decided the OTHER one, which I hadn't even mentioned, was slightly off as well and redid that one without us even asking. I would absolutely use them again, and would recommend them to anyone who wants a project done very well for the price on the bid.“

“Michael, Ghana and Jaime were incredible and I couldn't offer a higher recommendation. We were referred to Shoshan from good friends of ours in Mill Valley. The feedback was - "super reliable, great guys...we felt like we could leave our kids with them." Their work was also top notch. This review panned out to be true 100+. Throughout the project, Shoshan was incredible to work with. Project: Kitchen / Dining demo, new roof structure, framing, large beams for extra support in basement, new kitchen Planning: -We were worried our project was going to be to small for most GC's. We looked at 3 contractors. One was not responsive, the other was responsive but he only came over 2x and we didn't trust the numbers. -Shoshan came over probably 5 or 6 times with their subcontractors. Did thorough walk throughs, were on their hands and knees inspecting various things. They were brainstorming throughout the walk throughs on how they would solve for certain things, how much different things would cost, etc. -Their bid was thorough and we worked through adding some things and taking others out with them. -Very flexible to work with. They have their subs that they use but if we wanted to order things here or there (i.e. we found our own wood floors), they let us order them and just told us when in the schedule to have them delivered. Then we us -They came in on budget near others with some that were a bit lower. We felt most confident in their ability to deliver due to the amount of planning that went into the bid....read the finished product below... :) Demo and Build: -We opted to live in our house while they did the project. We also had a 4 week old baby (our first), which is important to note because at the end of the project we both agreed....we would legit let them watch our kids!! -Super thoughtful during the demo, partitioned off our living area and the construction area to ensure that dust did not get into our living space. -They brought in a team with day to day run by Jaime. Jaime is legit the best. Super kind, very thorough, top notch work. He also likes coffee with milk ;) We always enjoyed seeing Jaime in the morning. -PROBLEM SOLVERS - throughout the build they would find problems they needed to work around (i.e. how to get a 600 lb skylight up to the roof. These guys are pros and were able to work through every problem they faced. Finished Product: -The project was delivered on time and within budget.... READ THAT.... This was our first project and the one thing I was most concerned about. My mom is an interior designer and has warned me about horror stories. These guys nailed it. -They came over 2-3x after the project was complete to tweak a few things. One in particular was another problem that needed to be solved - our fridge panel. They ended up getting it dialed and the kitchen looks great. Highly recommended and happy to be a reference!“

They worked with me to assess damage, design the rebuild, and maintain stability and security of a severly fire damaged San Francisco 1902 duplex when I was unsure how to proceed. “Faubel built a house in Belvedere for my client last year. They have been extraordinary in their professionalism, organization, craftsmanship and just a delight to deal with from start to finish. “My wife and I delayed doing "the major remodel" for years because we had heard all the horror stories. But the time had definitely come, and the perfect rental house fell into our laps in our neighborhood. So we decided to move forward and hired our architects. We were going to use a general contractor who had done some other remodels in our neighborhood. But our architects highly recommended Nick so we interviewed him as well. This was a major remodel, full kitchen with an addition, major structural changes throughout, full remodel of two bathrooms, a new deck and porch, new windows, in short, basically the works. From the first interview, it was evident that Nick knew what he was doing. He had thoughtful suggestions across the board and always provided a reasonable and pragmatic point of view. We decided to go with Nick, and it was the best decision we made. Nick managed to bring in our remodel on budget, on time, and with impeccable workmanship, all while dealing with the major obstacles of COVID19 and the shelter-in-place. It was quite incredible that he got it done. Nick is not overly dependent on subcontractors, and he knows how to line things up from a timing perspective and press those involved in the job so things run relatively smoothly and get done on time. At bottom, Nick is just a real pro, and I couldn't recommend him more highly. And to top it off, he is a good guy too!“
