kaisers patient care SUCKS. Been coming to kaiser for 20 Yrs. and just watched this organization go to poop... 5 thumbs down... no stars...going back to state med-cal, it seems better medical care.

Last month I received an IUD, prior to my appointment, I called to ask how much it would cost. I was told my plan covered it since it was birth control. Well, imagine my surprise when I receive a bill for $3k. What an absolute joke. IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH YOUR PROCEDURES COST, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW??????? If I told my clients a haircut costs $50 and then sent them a bill for $3k, I'd be out of business, how are you allowed to operate this way? I just tried calling and was told that a case manager will "investigate" meaning I'm screwed, I'm sure.

There is no help for anyone that has difficulties getting around the campus that WAS BUILT ON A HILL! There is no help at the front of the building if you can't walk the distance to your appointment. There used to be volunteers at Kaisers as well as all other hospitals. No use trying to phone your clinic station directly to ask for help, even if you could get the number or operator would transfer! THEY WONT HELP YOU ANYWAY! The messages on KP.ORG no longer go directly to your doctor in dept, of medicine. They go to a remote station where strangers read the message and try to save the doctor the bother of actually reading your message And longer delays! The doctors are sub standard, most of the dept. of medine are not even MD's but DO's (Doctors of Osteopathy). All the good physcians have left or are leaving because of the impossible workload and lack any autonomy to practice medicine as they think is best for their patient. They all have to follow a template! Patients are herded into "classes" taught by Health Educators that are not doctors or nurses. This is to save money and avoid seeing an actual doctor. The lab and pharmacy waits are terrible. Kaiser Permanente is really terrible, so are Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. This includes the whole Sacramento, Roseville area facilities.
