The family had a good initial experience with Piedmont Oaks Dental, but they were surprised when the dentist left their Humana insurance network shortly after becoming new patients. The front desk staff encouraged them to pay out of pocket, which is not how their dental plan works. The family cannot understand why Piedmont Oaks Dental would leave such a large dental insurance network and would consider returning if they accepted their insurance again. Despite the insurance issue, patients appreciate the people, cleanliness, updated tech, and convenient location of Piedmont Oaks Dental.
Dr Shu did an excellent job with my wisdom tooth extraction, it was quick, painless, and recovery is going great. I have a lot of dental trauma from previous dentists at other clinics and Dr Shu was very patient with me, she answered my many questions and continuously and kindly calmed my anxiety. I definitely recommend her as a dentist, she really cares about each patient, is very skilled, knowledgeable, and makes personalized decisions based on your unique medical/dental needs. I’ve been a patient at Piedmont Oaks Dental for several years, and I’ve always had a great experience. The team consistently goes above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and well cared for. Shout-out to Trish, Alan, and Carlos for their exceptional service! They even offer a free Cocolab toothbrush and complimentary beverages —such a nice touch! I highly recommend this amazing team to anyone seeking top-quality dental care!
I lucked out on what I thought was impossible: finding a dentist that you actually, truly like. Dr. Shu is friendly, efficient without making you feel like you’re being rushed out the door, and doesn’t make you feel bad or guilty as we all do about our dental habits. She’s so gentle but sure-handed that I have pretty much never experienced pain or discomfort during any procedures - even a tooth extraction! The rest of the staff is also kind and professional.
