JP general construction has done several large and small projects for us. We would never use anyone else because they do the best work we have ever seen. They also leave things clean and their contracts are very clear and you know exactly what you’re gonna get in advance not to mention very little money is needed to start the project. They have redone our kitchen added iron doors putting archways in our house and they also completely remodeled an older house we had that we sold. Communication is always excellent especially with Kathleen as she always is available and always helps us with anything we may possibly need. My name is Lorena Quiroga. I have been a thirty year resident of Burbank, CA. and have done about a dozen building projects. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend JP General Contractors. Jesus Pena and his entire team, including his subcontractors (plumbers, roofers, electricians, etc., ) are excellent. It took us literally almost 3 years to get our ADU permits for a 3 bed room 2 bath through the City of Burbank. (I've had building permits with City of L.A. who are slow but Burbank just took an EXTRA long time.) We got six contractor bids in total and went with Mr. Pena because my neighbor down the street had two ADU's built by Mr. Pena and his company . He had raving reviews about his work. I went inside the completed ADU's, both large units and loved the attention to detail and craftsmanship of his exceptional work. His bid for the job was competitive and I'm absolutely glad we went with him. Building permits and approvals are a very slow process and it can be VERY frustrating but Mr. Pena and his project manager Cesar helped us through it. Nancy and Kathleen in his office were prompt in communicating with us every step of the way from scheduled city inspections, design options, scheduled payments, etc. Of all the contractor bids we got, JP General Builders required the least money down to start the job, which meant Mr. Pena put in his own money to start the job. (One contractor wanted $100k up front with a completion date of six months. Mr. Pena was less up front AND four months to complete the job. ) JP General Builders never cut corners and safety was always tops. I loved our overall design. Mr. Jesus Pena and JP General Builders are the way to go. We highly recommend him and will be be using them in our next building project!

JP Building was great. What I liked the most was that they were very responsive. I gave feedback on some minor details that weren't to my liking--for example pencil marks on the installed quartz counters, and they quickly sent someone out to adjust the work. Additionally, there was a lot of "mission creep" on my part. It seemed like I was finding more around the house for them to repair, and with little notice they took care of things--caulking, patching holes in the wall, adding grout in a bathroom, and more. The toilet install was a last minute, same day notice and repair type of thing, they were finishing up the kitchen and I asked if they could install a toilet. Jesus was great in helping us find a way to update the kitchen without doing a full remodel--for example, they resurfaced and painted cabinets but also added a few new custom cabinets to match. They were also pretty true to the original work schedule. The project was completed a week late, but considering all the additional work they did, it was a relatively short period of time--three weeks in total. I think at times the communication with the office could have been clearer, regarding when workers would be coming to the house (or not). However, overall, I would definitely use them again, and I have recommended them to many friends already.
