50 Vashell Way #120, Orinda“If you want the best in Pilates, this is your place. Too many pilates classes are taught by untrained instructors. Carolyn was trained by one of the original pilates teachers. She meets you where you are and works with you. She's smart & charming and unlike so many storefront pilates places, she knows the human body. She keeps you flexible and in shape. You won't find anyone better.“
“I have been going to Truve for classes since 2017 and I remain a loyal fan. Classes I have taken include TRX, dance, various iterations of Bootcamp and HIIT. The instructors are now friends after all this time. Come and check it out“

440 Grand Ave #401, Oakland“I saw Dr. Ban after almost two weeks of debilitating pain. Before Dr. Ban it was urgent care and Dr. visits, all resulting in the offer of pain meds and time to feel better. After one visit to Dr. Ban I felt hope and at least 50% better. Within a week I felt like I could do basic tasks again and within a week more I had graduated to maintenance care with full movement again. I will continue to see Dr. Ban because I believe she has my best interests in mind. She shows integrity in her care and in the frequency she recommends. She listens to me and is excellent in finding the cause of pain. I went to see Dr. Ban originally out of necessity. Now I see her to maintain a level of personal care I was lacking and I look forward to continuing.“

It’s been an excellent experience and I definitely feel stronger, more aligned and balanced. The instructors are great and a special shout out to Jaclyn who gives amazing instruction and always changes up our weekly class and keeps it interesting. I always feel mentally and physically better after my class.I also love the vibe at the studio, very mellow and all the equipment is modern, kept clean and well maintained.“

2573 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley“Wow ?"I had an incredible experience at the Hot Yoga studio. As a yoga instructor myself, I'm always seeking ways to deepen my practice and reconnect with mindfulness. This studio provided the perfect environment for both. The heat intensified the challenge, pushing me to explore my limits and find new depths in each pose. The instructors were knowledgeable, supportive, and offered gentle guidance to help me refine my practice. The atmosphere was calming yet energizing, creating a space where I could truly immerse myself in the practice. I left each session feeling rejuvenated, centered, and inspired to continue my yoga journey. Highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to take their practice to the next level!"“

The lobby/shop is so inviting and the merch is all gorgeous (books, crystals, pillows, clothes, jewelry, tarot cards, beautiful handmade gift cards). The teachers are excellent and care about form and watch the students to help them improve.“

3744 Mount Diablo Blvd Suite 309, Lafayette“Kelly is truly the very best of the best. I have been seeing her for over a year now for support in my postpartum experience as well as in my second pregnancy. Her office is serene and the minute you walk in, you are instantly at ease. I initially booked a private Pilates session and in our talk prior to getting started, we pivoted and did an acupuncture session to address my underlying concerns. Kelly took the time to hear what I needed in that moment and, without hesitation, made the change. Kelly has supported me in my hardest moments of postpartum and pregnancy and I truly cannot imagine life without her anymore.“

3320 A, Grand Ave, Oakland“I have been working with Sarah at Precision Point Pilates for about 3 weeks now, twice a week. A short period of time but already I know I hit the jackpot of Pilates trainers! Not only does Sarah know which exercises I need, she also knows anatomy and can explain the placement of bones and muscles and how they work together. This helps me visualize what I am doing and why. This is especially important for me as I am still recovering from a shoulder joint replacement surgery.I didn't think I could ever take reformer palates again after my surgery, but Sarah proved me wrong. I look forward to getting stronger as I continue my training so I can keep up with my very active adorable grandchildren!“

1640 School St #104, Moraga“This review is very long overdue. I first had a massage at Shape Shifters earlier this year, then started attending yoga, and then a special combo treatment (we would do some body work and some physical movement). Terra helped me SO much .. I was/am healing from a few car accidents, and her super knowledge of the body was a huge asset to me. I had been "out" of working out for a very long time because of my accidents, and with Terra's guidance, gradually got back into yoga earlier this year, and now am happy to say that despite moving across the country and no longer being able to attend Shape Shifters, I'm able to do yoga poses I was unable to do before, and in the gym lifting weights! I cannot tell you how huge this is for me - and I really credit Terra for a big part of the shift I needed to get here. She is incredible! And supported by great masseuses as well. Also love the creams she has. I would recommend her and the studio to anyone looking for a supportive environment to work out (yoga or pilates) and/or who needs body work... and especially to anyone who was like me and wanted a combination of those things! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!“

5427 Suite C, Telegraph Ave, Oakland“i LOVE taking pilates from Anya. She tailors each session to my pain points (hips, back, and feet), makes micro-adjustments to maximize each movement, and balances strengthening with stretching. My body feels so much better after each session! She also incorporates massage (if you'd like) and offers meditative/wellness advice (if you ask) - based on your interest. Not to mention, she's lovely to talk to and easy to get along with. And her studio is peaceful with a variety of equipment. I feel very lucky I found her!“

1708 Park St Suite 130A, Alameda“I love taking yoga classes at Symmetry. The space is big and beautiful and welcoming. Plenty of parking, too. So glad they're offering online classes currently. Anne Gregory's classes are the absolute best!! Simultaneously challenging and restorative.“
“Tiffany has changed my life! I have been seeing her every week for almost four years. When we started, I had been recently diagnosed with a chronic illness that makes exercise challenging. I was out of shape and any movement was hard for me. Tiffany was compassionate, patient, and incredibly skilled at adapting the exercise to my abilities. Without her sessions, I would probably be bedbound. Instead, my body is strong and constantly getting stronger. Our sessions have continued online due to COVID, and I am astonished at how well Tiffany has adapted to video calls. Somehow, she always knows my positioning, even when my whole body isn't in the camera frame, and she can coach me through the exercises with minimal equipment. I tried a range of different exercises before getting sick, but Pilates with Tiffany has been my favorite, despite my limitations. I've never had a coach so understanding, skillful, and knowledgeable. I would give a 1000 star review if I could!“
“Vita is an excellent yoga studio in the Rockridge/Elmwood area. I'm a newbie to yoga and was brought here by a more seasoned friend, as I was looking to both increase my flexibility and strength. It's in a convenient location that's super walkable (if you're not local to the neighborhood, it's about a block from Bart and there are multiple bus lines nearby). The studio is bright and clean with a modern and inviting atmosphere. The studio is on the smaller side, though, but that's common with boutique and locally owned studios (if looking for a bigger work out area, it's probably better to go to the bigger chain gyms/studios). The classes are challenging for both newbies and advanced yoginis. My first class was a power vinyasa class (probably a bit too advanced for me haha, as I felt the pain and gain the next day haha). I have also taken a meditative yoga class and a candlelit yoga class, both of which were great workouts for unwinding and distressing. Also the instructors here are awesome! It's locally owned and they have challenging classes, but they also take time to explain things or help if you're new. I also really like that they have some free mats that you can use during your class (so, whether your a beginner or advanced student, you don't have to lug one around for a class there. Or if you forget your mat at home or are in a rush, you could use theirs as a back-up.) After your class, there are wipes you can use to clean the mats. It's also wonderful studio for parents since they usually have childcare available. Overall, a great locally owned yoga/Pilates studios that I'll continue taking classes at.“
“I have been taken class for over three years. Love the positive energy each class brings to me .all the instructors are amazing.“

2241 Central Ave H, Alameda“I've been getting facials with Chris for over a year now and I couldn't be happier to have her in charge of my skin care! Chris is knowledgeable in dealing with many different skin issues (acne, dark spots, dry skin) and I always walk out of her studio with that "snatched" face look. I love that Chris is always bringing the latest technology into her studio, now offering micro-derm and micro-current treatments. I feel like my skin has never looked better!“

2631 Ashby Ave Suite B, Berkeley“Sorry forgot photos but my experience was excellent. Had two classes so experiences two instructors... Lori and Lauren. Both were kind, dynamic, managed multiple skill levels at the same time. I really like the studio on Ashby... Seemed clean, light filled. They had loaner grip socks, which was nice and also an espresso machine for a free latte. There is some local parking for two hours.about $42 per class.“

2567 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley“Amazing teachers and great vibe - very much recommended. Great value vs other gyms as well. I wasn't familiar with Bikram Yoga prior although I practiced many other forms of Yoga. The heated space really up levels the experience and I can totally let go and really engage with my body in a healthy way. Teacher's provide a great balance in which you're "pushed" only so far you're getting the best out of yourself including honoring you're own limits. Overall very much recommended!“
