I said no I was just browsing, he said to let him know if I needed help. I liked that he didn't hover. When I was ready he was very helpful. “Dr. Khela is one of the best optometrists I've seen! I had LASIK a decade+ ago and started needing contacts a couple years ago (a combo of minor scar tissue, astigmatism, but nothing serious enough to warrant a touch up). However, I struggled for over a year because the contacts still left my vision a little blurry when doing computer work, weren't comfortable for long periods, etc. I'd tried out multiple prescriptions and brands and was burnt out, but I needed to renew my prescription and had just moved so I figure I'd give Dr. Khela a try, expecting nothing would really change in my contact discomfort. I could not have been more wrong - she is a phenomenal clinician / wizard. She explained exactly where my discomfort was coming from (astigmatism!), got me in more comfortable contacts, explained why having one contact for astigmatism and one normal might help, and masterfully explained why computer work was giving me a headache and had a great fix. Her experience working with hundreds of patients doing deep squinty computer work really makes her an expert on modern eye fatigue and her solutions are creative and adaptive. I didn't know it was possible to be this wowed by your eye doctor but eye comfort is so underrated and I am grateful to have found the best doctor!“

“I drive from up North to Lafayette every year just for my exam! Dr. Zheng really knows how to dial in a prescription for unique needs! For my first pair of glasses I required progressive lenses with each eye needing slightly different correction. I have an astigmatism as well. Prior to going to Dr. Zheng I went to two "specialists" and ended up spending over a thousand dollars on specialty glasses. Unfortunately I was still having issues with dynamic and fast movement, delays to focus at different distances and quick changes. Tracking moving objects were just a blur. He explained it would probably take a few prescriptions, one each year ti really dial it in. My first pair of glasses was already SO much better than either of the two from the previous optometrists. The 2nd year it was even better, I thought it was about as good as it gets and I was totally happy, but I was wrong the 3rd year he said things were stabilizing and a slight change would really help me focus faster. When I got my new glasses he was right again!! Moving objects, fast changes in depth perception and ability to focus back and forth from near to far was much improved!! Well worth my 3-4 hour drive every year!“

“Monument Optometry got my prescription right. The new prescription replaced my my last two bad prescriptions (from UC B Optometry Clinic). Lenses are now replaced on my three previous frames. Doctor and staff were kind and professional.“

“Dr. Respicio has been taking are of us since 1998ish. We started with him in Daly City and now receive care in Hercules. We moved to Nevada 3 years ago and have continued to make the drive to see him because there really is not a better eye doctor on the planet. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Respicio, his office, his staff, everything is top notch. I tried someplace else last year, closer to home, highly recommended, etc. I will be driving the 3.5 hours until Dr. Respicio retires.“

“Dr. Chan is excellent. The reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 has to do with the front staff. I was told that my insurance would cover part of the cost for a pair of sunglasses and I was quoted a price. The staff member then encouraged me to wait until my annual appointment to purchase them (so my benefit could be applied). However, when I got done with the appointment one month later and was ready to purchase the glasses, another staff member said I had to pay full price. When I explained this to the staff member who had originally quoted me the price (she had even encouraged me to put the glasses on hold), she said she "did not remember" ever quoting me the discounted price. I should have asked for the quote in writing. I will be doing this from now on and I would definitely advise others to do the same. I would hope that the front staff is more clear in the future. Furthermore, I would hope that they don't "forget" details promised.“
