All three had similar opinions on what would work, what we should avoid, and other considerations when it comes to how much we wanted to spend. In the end, all three bids had similar parameters, but Arrow came with the best price. Also, they could start quickly, within 2 weeks, while the other two wanted two months to start. The job took less than three weeks and it looks great. If I saw something I wanted to change, they did it immediately without any pushback. Within five weeks from the day I met Gary, I had a nice big brand new deck. Gary and I would text or call each other whenever he or I had a question. He was very responsive. Great service. During the final touches I was so impressed I asked Gary to give me a bid for a new set of stairs on the side of the house. Ed worked diligently for the entire five hours he was here, demonstrating a focused and efficient work ethic. He flawlessly hung my extra-large, heavy round mirror and completed caulking around my kitchen sink with great precision. Ed also installed my smoke detectors and tackled a long list of other miscellaneous tasks. Throughout his time at my home, he was very polite and respectful. “I selected A-1 after bidding a project (fence replacement) to 3 companies; A-1 was in the middle and Mike spent a lot of time discussing the project on-site before writing a proposal. He walked me through options to ensure we got what we needed and guided us away from more expensive options, explaining differences in raw materials, which I appreciated.The project went smoothly, on-time, and on-budget and the quality of work was great. I then contracted with Mike for 2 other projects, which also went like clockwork. On the most recent one he used some excess lumber to fix a broken railing which I hadn't talked about with him, and he didn't say anything about this.I've rarely found contractors who are as competent, collaborative, and focused as Mike, and would highly recommend him.“

“Been meaning to write this for a while. Quite a few years ago -- like 10 -- Clough Construction replaced my old rotting deck with a new one at my house in Sausalito. The deck is perfect with no complaints. Some months ago I noticed that water was seeping into my living room which adjoins the deck as a few spots of flooring were showing signs of warping. I called Clough thinking perhaps the deck was the problem. Even though this kind of thing (house leaks) isn't really something Clough does, they came out to help me figure out what the problem was. Turns out the problem was the that the water was seeping in around the edges of the floor to ceiling windows. Not only did they identify the problem, but their man went back to his truck, came back with caulk and re-applied caulk to all of the windows around the deck. Took him probably half an hour. Would have taken me three! I then called Clough to thank them and pay the bill. Instead they just said this one is one us, glad we were able to fix the problem. That's customer relations commitment like one rarely sees. Highly, very highly recommend Clough for any project you might have.“
