“I used Olivia's hair and makeup services for my wedding for my mom and me. I am so glad we went with her! She has a great eye for what looks good. At our trial I showed her photos of looks I liked, and told her what mood I was going. She gave really wonderful suggestions, and we came up with a beautiful look that I wouldn't have envisioned on my own, but ended up being really happy with.I found Olivia while researching Asian makeup artists in SGV. These were some of the points that set her apart from other HMUA:- I appreciated Olivia's offerings because a lot of other HMU services I found were booked as wedding day packages that were above my budget and really more than what I needed or wanted.- Olivia is thoughtful--she encouraged me to schedule my makeup trial for the day of my engagement photo shoot. I know a lot of other makeup artists charge extra for weekend trials--understandably. But it was very nice of Olivia to care and not let a good-makeup day go to waste :P - My trial and wedding days were both during a heatwave and Olivia definitely kept that in mind and made me feel reassured me that the heat wouldn't be a problem for my makeup. It stayed put and didn't melt :)Ultimately my mom and my makeup turned out beautifully--just right and not too heavy . So happy to have found Olivia!“

Because our photographer was such a joy to work with, we had a feeling Stephanie would be amazing as well. Her Instagram account showed pictures of beautiful brides with soft glam makeup. As soon as I visited her website, I knew that she was not only a talented makeup artist but also an organized, transparent business owner. She made her pricing readily available (I didn't have to contact her separately about it), and I was able to instantly figure out if she was available on our wedding day. The booking process alone made it easy for me to decide to work with Brides Nest.<br><br>I was able to schedule my trial on the day of my engagement photo shoot. Stephanie listened to my thoughts on the soft glam look I would like for myself, asked me how my makeup looks on a daily basis, and took into consideration the type of makeup I do not prefer. She was down-to-earth and fun to chat with! It was clear that she enjoys what she does, which goes a long way when you book any vendor. Thanks to Stephanie, my makeup looked amazing in all the photos, and it lasted several hours without requiring a touch-up. This definitely helped because we did our shoot at Griffith Observatory around sunset and dusk, so I had no time to look at myself. My hair stayed put throughout the entire session as well. I appreciated that she recommended using extensions.<br><br>We still have a few months to go for our wedding, and working with Stephanie is making the process much less chaotic for us. She is quick to respond to all of our questions. She was more than happy to schedule another trial session for me because I'm still not sure if I want to put my hair up or down on the big day. “I recently came here to get a hair cut and touch up on my balayage. Maria was so welcoming. As soon as you enter, you will notice the super warm and clean environment. I typically have super long thick hair, but it literally felt a pound lighter after my hair cut. Maria is also the coolest person you will meet and she is always asking you on what you think about it. She truly think about you and I definitely have my fair share of horror stories of salon. “I am surprised that yelp does not have more reviews for this place. I was very lucky to have a found Lizi's studio on Google. I was searching for Photo Studios that did traditional Chinese photography and costumes that were very popular in Temple city over 15 years ago. But those places have all since closed. I wanted to plan out a photo shoot with my mom and my sisters for Mother's Day. And Liz was so kind to accommodate us and we had a lot of fun. We spent the entire day shooting all sorts of backdrops in our Shanghai qipao dresses. I plan to go back next year on my own to do Hanfu style photos. Liz's photoshop skills are also top notch. If you let her know exactly what you want fixed, she will make you look like an empress! The VIP service is worth it!“
