“I was seeking a stylist that did interesting work, not so much because I wanted an edgy haircut (although his modern and more challenging cuts are gorgeous) - but more in that I wanted to find someone with the skills to work with my patchy post-partum hair and turn it into something versatile that suits my personality and aesthetic. I was delighted when I saw Matt recommended on the OC subreddit, because he's exactly what I was looking for.His salon space is tidy and beautiful to look at. It's also a private space (you won't be navigating a crowded salon while trying to hold a towel on your head). He gave me his full attention and was very intuitive as to what I was looking for, especially given how limited my hair vocabulary is. I also really appreciated that he took the time to really have a look at my hair before he started and made suggestions based on that, which helped me figure out what I wanted.Honestly, I had a great time. It felt luxurious and high-end, but without the obscene price point and pretentiousness. “Shout out to Michelle!! So I had a major hair emergency! After going to another salon to get my k tips hair extensions removed (done not properly) I was left with a matted and clumpy mess. Literally had all the Ktip bond left in my hair!! We called multiple other salon and known were able to help. When we called secrets the receptionist was very nice and understanding. Michelle agreed that see immediately to try and help me!! It was a process and the entire time it was pleasant sincere and caring. She truly just wanted to help me with my hair disaster. I could not thank her enough!! For taking me in emergency same day and even stay 2 hours after store close to finish my hair and make sure I was happy with the end result.. the best service ever!!! “I got my hair done by Kate and she did a beautiful job. Very sweet woman/stylist. look forward to my next visit. I came here because my previous salon that I had been going to for 5 years has handed themselves over to fear and making tyrannical decisions that I could not support anymore. The final straw for me was when they put a sign up on window stating no talking allowed during shampoo, but to be quiet and enjoy. Pfffft! I'm proud of salon K8 for standing on the side of right and and they do beautiful hair in the midst of it. To all you naysayers....just remember when you've handed yourself over to fear and allowed your liberty to taken, it will be much more difficult to get them back.
