“Either you want to get healing or just to get great energy, this is a place like home for your soul.“
“The Black Tree School is Chris Murphy and there is no better way to become the musician you want to be than through his training. I met Chris through a friend well into my 3rd year of banjo lessons elsewhere and still hadn't been taught the core basics of music and music theory that I knew I needed to know to play well, understand how music is structured and play in a group with others (all my goal!). Into my life walks Chris and everything changed. He and his Black Tree School are the very best blend of classical music training infused with a Zen approach of life's relationship to music. Chris is both demanding and supportive, existential and traditional in every positive way possible and I have found myself challenged, inspired and spent after each lesson. If you have the will to double down and get serious, The Black Tree School is the right place to go. You'll walk away a more serious musician and likely a wiser person overall.“
“In five half-days of rock band camp, the girls learned to play three songs as a group, rotating instruments, and wrote their own song. Amazing. Sound Roads has exceeded my expectations. Great studio, fantastic teacher who really take the time to learn the skills and interests of the students, but still drive them to perform at their very best level.“
“We’ve been to two different piano teacher and he didn’t progress as much. When we got the call that she is available to teach Beck, I jumped on that train. Beck has progressed so much and I believe it was due to the way Noreen teaches her students. She is simply amazing with kids. She is the best of the best. We are so lucky to have her.“
“Natsha is a very patient, knowledgeable, and caring teacher! I was very lucky to have her as my Level 1 and Intro to Classical piano bootcamp instructor. Even though the bootcamp moved at a fast pace, she always took the time to answer students' questions. Highly recommend her as a piano teacher for both adults and kids, whether you're just starting out or have experience already.“
“If you want to learn how to play the guitar, are a lover of all things music, and want to learn the basics, or want to dive deeply into how to play, come to The South Bay School of music. Mark Fitchett and his crew are the best in the South Bay at teaching you everything from initial chord construct to advanced techniques. Mark is a great teacher (as they all are) and his patience with me is incredible. So many styles I want to learn, folk and rock mostly, they support it all. I feel welcome and less frustrated whenever I get a lesson from them. Highly recommend these guys, if you are a young person or young at heart like me, a great place to learn and enjoy the magic of playing music.“
“Wonderful place to learn music. Makinto is a great and inspirational musician and instructor. Other instructors are similarly skilled. We have had decades of relationship with JOMA and highly recommend them - for kids and adults alike (my husband, daughter, and grand niece all have had classes there!)“
“She is amazing! 5 stars highly recommend her services to anyone working to emprove their voice“
“Could not more highly recommend Alison! She is caring, engaging, and has sparked a love for music and piano in our daughter. She is a great teacher - and she offers such great flexibility with online lessons.“
“My daughters have been taking piano and drums and I have been learning guitar at Coast Music for the last couple of years. We moved here from the Bay Area and I have to say, we are SO lucky to have a place like this serving our community. The owner, Beth, works seven days a week it seems. She is always looking for opportunities for the kids to perform--concerts at Coast, local community events like Hermosa Fest, sporting events, etc. I feel like our kids aren't just learning an instrument, they are learning to be confident when in front of a crowd. And she is super responsive and communicative when there is something that we need to adjust. The teachers are all very nice and positive. For beginners you can go with anyone, but obviously styles tend to get more specific once the kids advance so do your homework. Anyway, we always thank them when we see them, figured we should finally share!“
