For the gi and no-gi classes Professor Angel does a great job at teaching and creating a welcoming environment for everyone. Would love to also have a jiu-jitsu fundamentals class for people who are looking to start their jiu-jitsu journey but are unsure about joining the all levels class. Maybe a longer or extra gi class added to the schedule would be awesome too. Also big thanks coach Oliva for being very helpful and attentive during her kickboxing classes. I personally didn't really enjoy striking as much before as I do now thanks to her.“

1824 W 182nd St, Torrance“This is a long overdue review. I've been bringing my seven year-old daughter to the kids class for a few months and we both really love it. Sensei Ford is great with the kids and really strikes a perfect balance between serious teaching and playfulness. We tried a couple other places before finding him and none of them worked out -- my daughter has some social issues and severe ADHD and other instructors just couldn't keep her engaged. Sensei ford somehow managed to keep ALL the kids engaged. He is kind, energetic, fun, funny, patient, serious, disciplined, and understanding, all at just the right moments. He coaches the kids well and the room is often filled with laughter while also keeping a sense of purpose and growth (in fact, one might even say 'continuous improvement' as the name says). I hope someday my daughter will move like some of the more advanced kids that have been there a while =o)As an added bonus, there are good sushi, ramen, doughnuts, and a 7-Eleven in the same parking lot. How can you go wrong? Seriously.“
“An authentic karate school with an excellent teacher. Very welcoming community. I've made lifelong friends here.“

Her knowledge, discipline, respect and confidence were strengthened while in this program. They are professional and dedicated in all that they do. Definitely give them a try!“
“Shout out to Pamana Kali and Guro Alvin! I’ve met Alvin in the FMA scene in Winnipeg ??. Every time he held one of his seminars, I’ve always taken away something useful and practical. He is a great teacher with such great attention to details! I hope to train with the Pamana Kali team one day! Thank you for all you do for our community! ????“
“What I like about this place is that the master keeps his place clean, he loves his job and had patience with children and adults.“
“I've been a student here for over a decade and I would never want to train anywhere else. Master Sampson has created an extremely welcoming environment and his teaching is always easy to follow. The lessons are enjoyable and well thought out, bringing a great foundation in martial arts, while acknowledging practical applications and variations as well.“
“We were bringing our son here since he was 3 years old and I need to say that there is no better martial arts classes in LA then this. We tried many but what master King is doing with kids and how much they love his energy and approach is unique and you can not find that anywhere else. He teaches kids discipline, athlete spirit, good habits, confidence and always pushing them beyond their limits. It was a pleasure watching our son grow with master King classes.“

They are able to handle Judokas at all different skill levels at every practice due to the volume of Blackbelts to learn from. You'll get personalized attention so you can develop your skills at a pace that works for you. All this while still providing a close team / family environment. I can't wait until my son is old enough to join the team as well.“
“My son's first day here on trial class and he LOVES it so much! Classes are structured, very professional instructors and friendly staff. I know my son is in good hands , so I'm signing him up! Thank you!!!“

8929 Ellis Ave, Los Angeles“The oldest Aikido dojo in mainland America. Awesome teachers, great group, welcoming environment to all regardless of age or physical abilities.“
“I have been a student for over eight years and my experience has been amazing. The style of teaching here under Master Sampson and the other wonderful sensei’s, can best be described with three words- mind, body and spirit. I’ve not only gained the physical forms and techniques, but the mental toughness and spiritual enlightenment as well in a fun, almost lighthearted environment. In addition, their focus on giving personal attention to each student, from young to old, and all walks of life, makes this dojo the ultimate place to learn Kenpo Karate!“
“After training at UC Berkeley until my Red Belt, I wanted to continue my Tae Kwon Do training since I was thisclose to my Black Belt. Also, it would be a great way to continue working out. After doing some extensive online research, I chose Young Yee Martial Arts. Why did I choose this school? For a couple of reasons: 1. I thought it would be a great opportunity to train under a 9th degree Grand Master. 2. It's fairly close to my apartment, about a 15 minute drive. 3. It had a nice website and a great review written about it. 4. Grand Master Young Yee gave me a discount! Compared to my training at UC Berkeley, the training here is a lot less vigorous. The concentration is not on sparring but rather on form, technique, and philosophy. Also, it's a totally different atmosphere since most of the students are little kids rather than college students. It took a lot of getting use to but it's a great experience. The main downside of this school is that it lacks participation in competitions. After injuring my ankle last year, I decided that I would rather teach students than compete for my own personal health so it doesn't bother me. Also, with so many students, it's hard to separate the belt ranks so a lot of the training is general. This means that the higher belts do not have a lot of time to work on advanced techniques as they have to do basic techniques with the lower belts. Also, the testing fees may be a bit pricey compared to those at UC Berkeley but I hear that it is pretty average among private martial arts schools. The main upside is that Grand Master Young Yee is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience under his belt. He knows how to work with children and has a great sense of humor. Also, despite his age, he is a very mobile. I might be a bit biased because I am now a black belt and a part-time instructor at this school. However, I believe that this is a great place to learn Tae Kwon Do, especially for someone who may not want to enter competitions so soon. I don't know how long I will continue to help Grand Master Young Yee teach but as long as I'm there you should all check it out!“

3207 Manhattan Ave, Hermosa Beach“This is a very special family-oriented dojo with a highly talented Sensei Nick, who truly cares about his students well-rounded growth. My children have attended for years since as early as age three. From counting in Japanese and memorizing the US states to developing a strong core with carefully crafted kicks, punches and blocks, they have grown exponentially. I often get compliments from teachers and friends for their good behavior. I credit part of this to karate and Sensei. I highly recommend all parents send their kids to this dojo. You will quickly realize invaluable lifelong lessons are instilled while kids develop a strong foundation of character, confidence, agility and discipline. I love the close community environment and feel very fortunate my kids attend, as well as myself.“
“I like the place bcs it hace a good person and they Tran you goood .......................“
“Thank you Master Carranza Tae Kwon Do for the support you give to our champions, my children are happy to belong to your school, because you always motivate them to do their best, and they perceive your good vibes. My yellow belt son is motivated to follow in his black belt brother's footsteps. And I know that with your help he will achieve it. Thank you Master and may GOD bless you.“
