“My grandson is currenty enrolled in the Little Ninja Class. He has been in it about 6 months. He started at 4 years old, he is now 5. Our family is impressed with the teachings of this program. Scott, Cam and Chris are amazing with the children, and they really help explain the progression of MMA. The instructors and junior instructors are all kind and patient with the Little Ninjas. My grandson looks forward to class each week. We always feel welcome when we are there, including the complimentary coffee :).“
“Amazing gym, great atmosphere and great coaches. Classes were very well run and great for all levels, great students as well who were very welcoming. Overall highly recommend.“
“What a wonderful studio! We came in for our trial and felt so welcome and so at home. We have only taken 2 classes and my two kids cannot get enough. One thing to note, they do an amazing job of educating you on what to expect. Right after signing up, we received a video telling us about the studio and its history. Followed up with an educational video on how to tie the belt properly. I truly feel like we had all of our questions we didn't know we even had answered. Not to mention the uniform was provided, a t-shirt and the most informational packet to help a non karate mom. I cannot wait to see what being apart of the AMAA family for years to come.“
“My son started a few weeks ago and loves the classes at American Martial Arts Academy. He really enjoys and looks forward to the going to the classes. The moment he walked into the studio he was graciously greeted by the instructors. They were welcoming and helpful. No pressure to join, just informative and welcoming. The team at American Martial Arts Academy provides a nurturing the supportive environment for the kids. The studio definitely feels like a family owned business. They are attentive to each child and knows them by their name. It's nice to be to hear yours child's name as you enter the studio. Makes you feel at home.“
“This is a well friendly business establishment for anyone who wants to learn Takewondo. The Masters and Jr. Masters are friendly and very patients in teaching and explaining the techniques. Both of my kids has been attending this center for the past 8 years now. Both have their Black belts and still are continuing to take lessons. It's also close to my house, so that's a plus for me.“
“My nephew had a hard time wanting to start the process.... But they worked with him.... Took the extra time to talk to him and relate. They are great at encouraging and cheering on everyone. I also like that the class has varying ages. It's a very welcoming place.“
“Really enjoy learning from Coach Ken & Coach Allison at Anaheim Krav Maga. Been going to the morning class for about 2 years. The class is very welcoming, and they have students of all ages and levels. I like that it's very practical and that there is an emphasis on both physical training and mental wellbeing. I walk away each class feeling like I've learned something new -- and that I have a better sense of what I need to practice in order to feel more confident defending myself. And it's fun!“
“My two teens began taking classes here a few months ago and have loved it! The professors are knowledgeable and supportive and classes are well structured while still allowing the people there to have fun and challenge themselves. I see nothing but smiling faces at the end of the classes. Tired but smiling.“
“What a wonder gym with a great atmosphere and fantastic instruction from world class instructors. the space is made for all ages and abilities and is incredibly welcoming for advanced and new students alike. Cleber is very personable and a great instructor that genuinely cares for his students and wants only the best for them from travelong to tournaments to coach to one on one lessons you should come here for world class training.“
“This review is specific for the kids classes from a parent. As a family joining CheckMat with no previous martial arts background, CheckMat has exceeded our expectations. From day one, the instructors have each been welcoming and fair to all kids in the program. There is no question that the instructors all enjoy teaching jiujitsu to children of different skill levels and ages, it’s definitely a passion of theirs and because of that, the kids safety and instruction is tailored to challenge each kid on an individual basis. As a parent, watching your children develop life skills, gain confidence, improve their fitness, respect others, enjoy competition, and have fun/laugh at the same time is all you can ask for - and that we get with every class we send our kids to.We are extremely happy with our experience at CheckMat and would recommend it to others looking for a challenging and supporting activity for their family.“
“Master Chris and all of the staff are excellent. They are especially patient with my shy son giving him confidence, extra time when he needs it and patience. Class is fun, kids are in great spirits and enjoy coming each week. They also reinforce respect, talk to the kids about creating good habits and kindness. Highly recommend for all ages.“

“Amazing teachers! Enrolled my son here and he looks forward to going every week. They are so good engaging the kids and even my son who is not a sports kid enjoys every class! Highly recommend“
“Our little guy was interested in starting Taekwondo and his friend from school was going here. Since his Mom highly recommended TKS, we decided to try it. In just 2 short months, our little guy has learned so much. The Masters work carefully with him to build his skills and what I love the most is that while they are focused on training, they are also teaching him about respect. They are influencing his whole self, his view on how to demonstrate active listening and they have even helped him understand how important it is to put away his toys with no help! We recently participated in a Make-up belt test and were able to see what different belts had learned while the kids proved their abilities. We were so excited to see each child at a different level, demonstrate what they had learned and prove that they deserved to move to the next belt. We were also impressed with the confidence, active listening and respect that each student showed. And of course, we loved to see the different levels break boards in different ways. TKS Martial Arts Center has an amazing summer special going. For $99 we got a month of classes, the registration fee and his uniform. This allowed us to try out the classes and see if he liked it. Which he really did!“
“My son has attended UTO for three years now. Master Choi is very patient and excellent in his skills. When needed, my son also took his private lessons. He is determined to get a black belt. Thanks to the UTO & master Choi to develop a positive attitude in him. Their weekly and monthly worksheets like book review, filial duty, my best list, etc. help in developing overall discipline and a character building. Below is my son's review. "I have been a student at taekwondo for 3 years, and I am a red black belt with a six degree. The instructors here are really nice and kind. Plus, they have different ways of learning that make it easier. This place is worth five stars."“
“Sensei Steve, Sensei Max, Sensei David, and Sensei Amanda are top notch. My son is currently a yellow belt and is enjoying his journey through the belt ranks. Highly recommended!Special thanks to Sensei Garrett for helping my son as well!“
“I have been coming here for more than 20 years. It is a great place filled with awesome instructors and kind students. I highly recommend it if you're in the area and looking to improve yourself or for a positive and focused activity for your child.“
“Excellent place to train. Professor Bill Tetsch is a knowledgeable and passionate BJJ practitioner. I was able to drop in for a handful of classes while up on a work trip and will definitely visit if I am in the area again! Thank you so much for having me!“
“Stopped in for a smoothie today and it was so good! My mom and I both got the extreme yummy smoothie and added whey protein. Fresh and filling!“
“A great place to train and learn martial arts! You'll learn many different techniques and skills here. Plus, the instructors and other students are awesome to work with!“
“Great place to bring your kids to learn discipline, respect, get into shape, learn for a real Korean grandmaster make new friends, learn self defense“
“I really love how Sensei Daniel runs his dojo. Everyone learns at their own pace and there are opportunities for the younger ones to learn from older students and for more experienced students to help less experienced ones (regardless of age). We have been with this dojo since 2019. When our youngest gets old enough, we plan to enroll her as well.“
“NHC Martial Arts stands as an exceptional facility – profoundly professional, impeccably clean, and a remarkable hub for martial arts enthusiasts. It encapsulates the essence, passion, and values of martial arts. The owner, a paragon of integrity, respect, and kindness, is a role model I aspire to emulate in both my personal life and career. Gratitude to NHC Martial Arts for this inspiring experience.“
“ATI is an exceptional studio that defies easy description. Master Kwon is an incredible teacher with a fierce passion for Taekwondo, both in practice and instruction. He is extremely kind and highly respected. Not only does he teach children about kicking and punching, but he also instills in them the essence of being a true martial artist. At ATI, students are also introduced to Korean culture, the birthplace of Taekwondo, as Master Kwon incorporates it into the learning experience. The instructors here are truly qualified and excellent in both technical and teaching skills. They are certified by Kukkiwon, the headquarters of Taekwondo in Korea, and have achieved numerous accolades in local, regional, national, and international competitions, including prestigious ones like the US Open. They respect the students and teach them with complete dedication. A lot of students are also actively participating in many Taekwondo competitions throughout the year which makes the school such a vibrant and positive environment. Over the years, my little kid has trained here, and I can attest that ATI is a well-known and reliable Taekwondo school in our local community. The studio's inclusion of children with special needs, adults of all ages, and students from diverse backgrounds, including those transferring from other Taekwondo schools, states, and countries, makes it an exceptional place for training. I do not think there are any other Taekwondo schools in the area offer classes for all ages. The closest one is like 15miles away from Garden Grove. One of the most realiable and credible things about this studio as I know is many trainers at ATI have been with the school for many years, starting from their elementary school days and continuing through to graduating from college, whether as engineers or while earning doctoral degrees. A lot of them have established careers and been successful as well. I rarely write reviews on Yelp, but I feel compelled to respond to some of the negative comments. In martial arts, children must learn discipline and respect for others, from family members to strangers. This is a fundamental pillar of ATI's teaching. During belt promotion tests, which occur every 2-3 months, all students are encouraged, though not required, to spend a few extra minutes observing their peers as a way of learning and showing respect. I believe this is an excellent method of educating children on mutual respect. I don't understand the complaints about tuition. My child has trained here for years, and ATI's tuition is among the most reasonable in the area for such high-quality training. I find the negative reviews strange and unfounded. Moreover, ATI is the only Taekwondo school in the area that offers free trials for students. Master Kwon has been teaching and running this school with passion for over twenty years, so I believe the negative reviews are unjustified. Thank you again, Master Kwon, and all the incredible instructors and trainers at ATI.“
