“The crew from Jim Lord is GREAT!! Our sprinklers in our gardens here in California had not been working in two years. Other companies had tried to fix them with no luck and just made things worse. “After having started out home renovation, we set out to look for a landscape architect that could design on challenging terrain that needed engineering. We wanted a design and build firm that would take responsibility for the entire project; we also knew it would be no small feat to find someone that met our need for excellent design and the ability to actually build what was designed on our land. A friend had worked with NatureWalk and they came highly recommended. My husband and I were immediately impressed with Angelica's (the owner’s) understanding of our land and enthusiasm towards her work. Angelica is an artist! Her process seems like that of a sculptor.Once NatureWalk started the construction we had great communication throughout that process as well. The crew was friendly and efficient. We ended up with a beautifully designed, low maintenance space that is so much better than what we could have envisioned. “Mike Hertzer and his team at Modern Landscaping recently completed a front and backyard installation for my husband and I at a newly built residence in Morgan Hill. Mike is truly a dedicated landscape professional. Mike was organized, on top of the job at all times, respectful and caring of his crew, and informed of the latest and best materials and techniques for the job. What's more, Mike is extremely knowledgeable about a wide range of plant material. He was very patient with my many questions; I learned a lot from him. He also had a great working relationship with our landscape designer who clearly respected Mike's expertise. Our site had several challenges that Mike easily handled, including poor drainage and poor soil quality. And although not an extremely large project, our design included several types of hardscape (Mike's crew did an absolutely beautiful job of cutting and laying a stone patio), multiple planting areas, two water fountains and a variety of other details. Mike didn't take shortcuts. Every step of the installation was done carefully. I especially appreciated Mike's attention to detail, such as building the AC enclosures in such a way they could be easily removed for future access. Or covering the openings into the underground drainage pipes with mesh so that leaves and other debris would not fall into them. Mike even provided extra parts for the irrigation system and provided me with an "as installed" diagram showing where the underground electrical and water lines were located - not just a paper copy, but a laminated one I could take outside. In short, Mike truly cares about the quality of work done under his name. I am so glad we chose Modern Landscaping to install our yard and would absolutely recommend them for any landscaping project.“
